I just finished my first James Patterson book, I Alex Cross and I was amazed at how each chapter was only 1-3 pages long but it didn't slow down the pace of the book. When I had a few minutes to read I would say to myself, "Sure, I have time to read three pages." Half an hour later I'd read twenty. :-)
