Barnes and Noble's New Audiobook Subscription Service
Today Panzer made a trip to the Barnes and Noble site. There our inquisitive kitty boy found the company has started a new audio book service.
One audio book per month.
According to the Barnes and Noble bn.com site the has a new audio book subscription service. For $14.95 per month you can listen to one audio book. Or, if you don't want to use their subscription service, there are 300,000 audio books for sale on the site. The first month is free right now.
Panzer says, "It looks interesting."
Note: Bring a cup of tea for your reading today; but, if you plan to fill out the application to get started with the service and pick your first audio book, you decide what else to bring to eat and drink.

Amazon 'disappointed' with union vote, may file objection based on 'undue influence' by NLRB - GeekWire
Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere when he decided to make a stop at the GeekWire site. With just a little digging in the posts there, our illustrious kitty boy found one about Amazon's response to last week's unionization vote.
According to Taylor Soper's post, Amazon is considering filing objections against the "undue influence" the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) had over the union vote. During the vote the NLRB sued Amazon to force the company to hire back a fired employee. That employee is the one who started (and is president of) the Amazon Labor Union after he was fired. Amazon (and the National Retail Federation and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce) believe this court case suggested the "undue influence" to get the warehouse workers to vote to join the fired worker's Amazon Labor Union.
What will happen?
Panzer says, "This little kitty wants to know, how much the workers will be charged for monthly dues in the union? And, now that they're a union warehouse, do they all have to join the union whether they voted for it or not? And, do new employees have to join the union to work there? That's a lot of money for the Amazon Labor Union."
Note: This is a long post. Bring a cup of tea and three chocolate chip cookies (biscuits) for today's reading selection.

A Panzerism
Panzer on the human misconception of their own importance:
Mom told me that if parents compliment their children it boosts their confidence. She said that's a good thing and why she compliments everyone.
But ...
She needs to learn you don't ever compliment a cat.N-o-o-o ... a real bad idea.
Cats will always take such sentiments and turn them into moments of disbelief ...
and ...
then hilarity.
Good Kitty? You're kidding right?*
How dare a mere human ...
an inferior species to cats ...
pass judgement on us ...
with statements like "Good Kitty" and "What a smart boy"?

In historic milestone for Amazon and organized labor, workers at N.Y. warehouse vote to unionize - GeekWire
Today, Panzer made a trip to the GeekWire site. There he discovered the workers at an Amazon warehouse in New York have voted to unionize.
Unbelievable. GoFundMe to start a union.
According to the post by Kurt Schlosser, the National Labor Relations Board counted the ballots from the warehouse vote. The final vote was 2,654 to unionize and 2131 against unionizing. The union is called the Amazon Labor Union and is headed by a fired Amazon employee. The union was funded by a GoFundMe campaign.
Panzer says, "Hey Mom! I want to set up a GoFundMe campaign for a union for cats. I'll take the donations to the campaign in catnip. All the cats will vote for the union. Cats will pay catnip to join the union. The union will demand more catnip from our humans. Of course, as head of the union I'll get paid in catnip for all my work to get cats more catnip. I've got it all figured out."
Note: This is a medium length post. Bring a cup of tea for today's reading selection.

How to cancel or postpone a KDP preorder deadline without penalty - Creativindie
Today Panzer decided to visit some of the sites he hasn't been to for a while. Our nostalgic kitty boy made a stop at the Creativindie site. With a little digging in the posts there he found one about cancelling or postponing an author's pre-order deadline.
Cats don't like deadlines.
According to site owner and author Derek Murphy, over the years he's had to change his pre-order deadlines several times. Previously, KDP banned him from having pre-orders for a year. Now KDP has changed the pre-order deadline cancel and postpone rules. Derek Murphy explains the new rules and the steps necessary to successfully use them.
Panzer says, "Sometimes life just gets in the way and you can't finish your book on time."
Note:This is a long-medium length post. Bring a cup of tea and a muffin for today's reading lesson.
