Court Orders Amazon E-book Monopoly Lawsuit to Proceed - Publishers Weekly

Panzer says, This looks like it's going to go on for a long time. This looks like it's going to go on for a long time.
Today, Panzer's trip into the Catosphere took him to the Publishers Weekly site. There our intrepid kitty traveler found a post about Amazon's ebook contracts with publishers.
According to Andrew Albanese's post, Judge Gregory Woods is allowing the class action lawsuit that accuses Amazon of monopolizing ebook sales and thereby setting ebook prices to continue. This lawsuit originally started in 2021. The post includes links to information from the original lawsuit and subsequent filings.
Panzer says, "This lawsuit is separate from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) lawsuit."
Note: This is a medium length post. Bring a cup of tea and two chocolate chip cookies (biscuits) for today's reading selection.

Ghost in the Machine: Artificial Intelligence and the Business of Writing - Writer Unboxed

Panzer says, I don't, but maybe you do. I don't use AI generated stories, but some authors do.
Panzer found an interesting post about AI generated materials at the Writer Unboxed site.
Emilie-Noelle Provost's post begins with an author who submitted an AI written novel, but claimed it as their own. A further check disclosed this author had other already published AI generated novels which the author also claimed to have written. The post then deals with some of the possible ways authors could petition to stop this practice. The post also includes helpful links.

Panzer says, "Be sure to read the Comments section too."
Note: This is a medium length post. Bring a cup of cocoa and a muffin for your snack while you read.

A Monday Panzerism

Panzer on being a Bad Boy:
For a while I was working on my Bad Boy Image.Girls really like that whole rebel cat routine. But the more I studied it, the more I could see thatBad Boys and Incredibly Stupid are the same thing. I mean ...  Running in front of moving cars ... Baiting the neighborhood dogs ...
I'm just not that stupid. You know ...  My Momma Kitty didn't raise no stupid kittens.
Panzer says, Mom, let's drop all that Bad Boy stuff. Mom, let's drop all that Bad Boy stuff.

At least none that were male ...
Well ... There was my brother Sox ... Ahhh ... None with black fur ...Well ... There was my brother Jinx ... Okay ... None named Panzer.
