Jai Bhim – This Movie has a Powerful Message
Jai Bhim, produced by Surya and Jyotika, is a Tamil movie – legal drama (also released in Hindi and Telugu) that is based on true incidents of police brutality in the early ’90s. If you could handle all those brutal scenes, this is an excellent movie to watch. It’s available on Amazon Prime Video.
This blog post is not a movie review but is an attempt to decode the message behind Jai Bhim. To be specific, this is my interpretation of the message conveyed in the movie.

You should watch the movie to understand what powerful forces and hopeless situations this woman is up against, but she still stands up to bring justice to her husband who is reported to have escaped from the police station during an enquiry. It’s important to note that no one from her community even had ration cards or voter IDs.
This movie shows that when there is the will to fight, and a justified cause, various forces align with us – irrespective of our limitations. In this movie, for example, the lawyer fights the case for the woman without taking any money and a senior police officer helps with the investigation against the local cops to bring out the truth.
I guess, with ‘education’ and ‘social conditioning’ most people lose their will to fight. If we don’t fight our battles and stand up for what we believe is right, who will? Irrespective of the result, we will still have the satisfaction of having fought, having given our best.
That’s what this movie inspires us to do.
Kudos to Surya and Jyotika for making a great movie that has an IMDB rating of 9.6, the highest for any Indian movie to date.

Which Yuga are we in Now? Hint: Not Kali Yuga! [The Yugas – Book Review]

This blog post is a book review of, “Yugas: Keys to Understanding Our Hidden Past, Emerging Energy Age and Enlightened Future” by Joseph Selbie and David Steinmetz.
When we think of our distant past, say 5000 B.C. or 10,000 B.C., we often think of hunter-gatherers, or primitive civilizations trying their hands at stone tools and making a fire. We think, only later, during the 3000 B.C. onwards, with our recent discovery of Harappa/Mohenjodaro civilizations, that man learned to live in an organized fashion, and such.
We also think that we have since then “advanced” owing to our more recent scientific discoveries, etc.
But if we are so advanced, why is there so much unrest and strife in this world?
That’s because we are in Kali Yuga and we are waiting for Kalki Bhagwan to emancipate us. Right?
The authors of this book gave me a shocker with their analysis and findings.
First, we are not in Kali Yuga. We are in Dwapara Yuga, the energy age.
Kali Yuga ended around 1700 C.E. and after a 200-Year transition period, we are now fully into Dwapara Yuga. This will last from 1900 C.E. to 3900 C.E., and then it will be followed by Treta Yuga (3000 Years) and Satya Yuga (4000 Years). This is the ascending cycle.
What happens after that? Satya Yuga will repeat once again (4000 years), followed by Treta Yuga, Dwapara Yuga, and Kali Yuga. And then? The cycle will continue. They say this cycle has already occured many times in the past.
Kali Yuga, according to the authors, is the age where people are focused on materialistic things, and more often than not, have to do what they are told. Dwapara Yuga is the age where people develop self-will and are focused on harnessing energy to their advantage. Treta Yuga man is focused on self-mastery, especially mastery of his thoughts. Satya Yuga man is focused on self-realization and his intuition, and is able to realize our interconnected life-force is at its maximum.
The authors say that only during the first two Yugas, man is focused on materialistic things – i.e. depends on external factors to fulfil his wants. During the last two, his needs and mastery are focused on internal and perceptive.
So, after two-three thousand years from now, we are not going to see a unbelievable technological advancement and mind-boggling gadgets. Because, man by then would have outgrown his need for such things.
I can sense your disbelief – that’s because you are in Dwapara Yuga
It seems, like how the earth rotates around the sun, our solar system also revolves around a central force. When we go nearer to it, our mind develops higher perceptive qualities. When we go farther, we lose them.
Of course, these are all assumptions, and aren’t proven scientifically. But the author tries his best to prove this theory logically (through historical events, evidences, etc.) to satisfy our scientifically inclined minds.
I think there is substance in his argument.
If you too are curious, read the book.

Old Britannia Milk Bikis Classic – Relaunched!

Britannia has launched the old Britannia Milk Bikis Classic edition, which you can see in the above pic. We bought it recently and were surprised – not just because of the difference in the look, but also because of the difference in the taste.
Frankly, the boxey design of the contemporary milk bikis could do better. But the old/classic edition, although simple, looks pleasant. Especially the organic shapes in the border.
The contemporary milk biscuits are sweeter, so they go excellently well with tea. I am a regular customer of milk bikis for that reason For general eating, I prefer Marie.
But this old milk bikis was good enough for general eating. I loved the balanced quantity of the sugar and milk taste in it. This doesn’t work that well when dipped in tea (for me) but otherwise, it’s better than the contemporary edition.
If you’ve not tried the Britannia milk bikis classic edition, do try it soon. It was available in the supermarkets we go to regularly and is probably available to buy online as well.
I am going to buy a few more packs today. I hope the company keeps this in production at least for a while.

“You Frozen Frog, do something”
Generally, I don’t laugh at abusive language. But the creativity in this line made me laugh spontaneously!

“In the recent Tamil movie ‘Sarpatta Parambarai‘ an Anglo-Indian wife uses these words to ‘push’ her (otherwise calm) husband to *act* in order to bring a conflict in their neighborhood to a stop.
This is what she says,
“You frozen frog… Do something”
He was standing quietly in a corner instead of resolving the conflict. The wife tries to but fails. She then sees her inactive husband, gets enraged, and spurs him into action with these (for me) Legendary Words!
You should see the movie to get the exact tone and context in which she mentions it – she is pretty much consistent with that tone throughout the movie
Directed by PA Ranjit, Sarpattai Parambarai is a good movie about a historical boxing competition in Madras. It is longer than required, otherwise, it’s a fine movie. It’s there on Amazon Prime. Don’t miss if you value quality over entertainment

#1. Tennis
When I was in school, one of our classmates brought a small handheld electronic video game set. We were familiar with racing car games, but for the first time, I saw the Tennis game with him. I wanted to play the game, but since many people were behind him for it, I never got a chance.
I think, after that, this is the first time I am playing Tennis in a video game format!
Maybe because of the above memory, or maybe because I like Tennis in general, I loved playing this game. Watch me defeat the computer on my serve in the above-embedded video. OK, it was just one game and after that, I lost the match, but I don’t show you all that
I love this game and I anticipate that I will play this game frequently whenever I feel I need some stress relief

#2. Zuma Ball & #3. Zuma Legend
Zuma Ball & Zuma Legend are similar games. Basically, you need to shoot balls so that similar colored balls get accumulated next to each other. If you bring three or more of the same colored balls together, you can make them all disappear. The goal is to make all the balls disappear before the line of balls crosses over to the end.
More than me, my wife likes this game very much. She is almost addicted to it. If you like such games, I guess you too will get addicted to them!

#4. Candy House
Candy House is a game where you need to quickly match 3 or more of the same-colored candies by swapping any two candies. The goal is to make the maximum candies disappear. A fun game and a great time pass!

#5. Daily Word Search
In this game, words on the left are jumbled among the letters in the square boxes on the right. You need to identify the maximum no. of words. These words may be ordered horizontally, vertically, or even diagonally.
If you, like me, get stuck with identifying a particular word, just move to the next one. Actually, you can identify the words in any order, not necessarily from the top to the bottom on the left list. It can get difficult, but once you get the knack, you’ll gain a lot of focus and concentration by playing this game

Solitaire.org has many more games like the ones I have mentioned above, click here to see the full list of free browser-based games that you can play on your computer or mobile phone.

Shershaah Movie Review (Amazon Prime) = MUST WATCH

Shershaah is a Bollywood (Hindi) movie [with English subtitles] now streaming on Amazon Prime. This is a movie about a real war hero – Capt. Vikram Batra, who fought and died for India at the peak of the Kargil war. His contribution was crucial in winning the Kargil war (’99) and his bravery and sacrifice were recognized with the Param Veer Chakra award.
I saw this movie today and was mighty impressed. It’s difficult to make an interesting movie out of real incidents. But the moviemakers and the actors have done a tremendous job with this movie. I suggest you watch the movie even if you don’t know Hindi – it’s mostly an action war movie, and there are English subtitles too.
When the video recording of the real Capt. Vikram Batra is played in the end, we realize that this is not just a movie – the events were true and they actually happened!
I appreciate the filmmakers for having selected this Indian army-based subject and making an excellent movie out of it. All of us who remember watching the news when the Kargil war was in progress should watch this movie. The news gave us statistics, but a movie like this gives the story behind just one of those statistics.
Imagine how many more such stories were behind all those sacrifices made by the Indian army – during our very own lifetime.

Our First Music Video Launched @ Youtube [RR Productions]
Here is our First Animated Music Video that we have just Launched on Youtube. Actually, we licensed the music used in this video (we didn’t create it ourselves), but the 3d animated video was very much created by us.
Previously, to make such animated videos, a team in an animation studio need to work for days together. But, nowadays, there are tools available that make it easy to create such wonders – if you have the patience to learn, that is. You may not believe it, but there are mobile apps to create 3d models and 3d animations!
There are no bounds to creativity nowadays. So I urge the readers to also envision and achieve their passions. If you are not sure if you can create what you dream of, just ask Google how to do it
