I have now beaten Omikron: the nomad soul. What a thoroughly strange and difficult game. 80% adventure in a huge city with little direction, 10% horrible fighting game, 10% OK shooter. 100% worth checking out for pure strangeness and of course, the in-game bowie concerts. This is the second time I’ve had to beat a game to save my soul. Damn soul traps. Gamers gotta beware.

Just beat The Ring, a strange game adaptation of the japanese version of the film that takes place entirely inside the CDC and involves the curse morphing into a game. Pretty neat reality bending near the end and not too terribly hard to beat, although there are certainly some frustrating elements. Par for the course.

Good god this game was hard, but satisfying to beat. Anyone who likes the 2d top down zelda type games should absolutely check it out, but maybe emulate so that you have save state. The bosses in this game can be fucking stupidly hard, like yr win depends on luck and panic with just a sprinkle of skill from the sheer amount of retries needed. Very pretty graphics though. Hand drawn backgrounds are always nice.
