Living by the glow of the monitor
"I don’t feel like constantly wondering what the security climate in the next country we are..."
- Randy Blythe, Lamb of God, while explaining the band’s decision to cancel it’s current EU tour (via urchicago)

MPFREE || Albinotron ‘Unused Data’
The newest album from the prolific and monstrously under appreciated Albinotron is here, and it’s as free as all data should be, albeit crying out for use.
Don’t kick yourself for missing this E/IDM / Triphop / Industrial controlled explosion, Albinotron tends to nestle amongst random data, hiding in plain sight. Just don’t make the same mistake twice - @albinotron’s prolific output is worth following and doesn’t show any signs of abating.
Albie loves to hide his best crackling ear-licker tracks with the most innocuous names -on this album, skip to ‘Wanking’ (the track, not the verb) for a perfect example.
You catch up with Albie’s near-library of output here. No $$ required.
Second favorite track: ‘Baetron Alpha’ tugs on my nostalgiafeels with a bittersweet Sonic 2 sounding chip melody playing throughout that I just cant get out of my head.
‘Unused Data’ is as interesting as I have come to expect from Albie, with an extra creamy richness provided by a new sense for unctuous funky melody amidst the standard crackling toasted machine flotsam Albie tames into a beat a la Tom Waits, emphasizing dirty textures and fattty-full sounding samples amongst his calculator tricks. Albinotron is a rare jewel that you should bookmark and come back to continuously.
