But when a senseless act of violence threatens the lives of two people she loves, Heart does what comes natural to her…she protects what’s hers. Kenneth Searlington, billionaire real estate tycoon, is living the ultimate dream—family, friends, and wealth.  Life couldn’t be more perfect, until trusting the wrong friend puts his life on the line. When he can’t trust friends or family, Kenneth takes matters into his own hands.  Who should Kenneth trust?  The wife who lied, or the friend and family who betrayed him?   Maybe the only person he can trust is himself? When protecting the heart she loves forces Heart to omit certain truths about herself and those she loves, can Kenneth see past her betrayal long enough for her to keep him alive? Excerpt: The subtle touch of fingers so familiar to his skin he could confuse it for his own grazed the slick skin of his shoulder until it slid down his back as smoothly as the droplets of water raining down on him. “You okay?” she asked softly into his ear. “I was afraid today was too much for you. You’ve only been back home a handful of days.” He nodded his head, eyes still closed to the streaming water saturating the thick strands of his hair. He felt her hand crawl back up the length of his back, the movement making the muscles that rested just beneath her digits twitch in anticipation. Heart was right, he had returned from the hospital several days before, but in that time the two of them had barely spent any alone time together. They’d both been physically present, and usually that was all it took to stoke the embers that always seemed to be on a low simmer just waiting for an excuse to fan the flames to full blaze. But since his release there had been something there, something that was keeping them from being them. Kenneth turned his head slightly toward the sound of her voice. He opened his eyes just enough […]

Matt & Evan from Truth & Tenderness by Tere Michaels

LaQuette: The first time I ventured into gay romance was when I stumbled upon a book blurb about two very macho straight men falling in love. Now, what I found interesting about this plot wasn’t the fact that two burly men were falling in love, but that each of said men identified as straight, but still managed to fall in love anyway. I was very skeptical, I thought the book was going to be trash, and I didn’t think the author could suspend my belief enough to make me accept this story. Well, I was wrong. Tere Michaels created an amazingly emotional, and heart-gripping tale that made me want to not just read everything Tere had ever written about these men, but meet them also. Today I get my wish. Matt Haight, Evan Cerelli, thank you for dropping by my blog today. It is such an honor and a pleasure to meet you both. Now I don’t know if Tere warned you about me, but I can be a little bit nosy, so I’m going to ask you some stuff, and hopefully you’ll be kind enough to indulge my curiosity. ;) **Matt nods his head with a crooked smile inching up one side of his face. Evan just stares suspiciously through slit eyes**   LaQuette: Matt, Evan, how are you guys, how are the kids?   Matt: Danny has a girlfriend. Evan: She has purple hair! Matt: If he gets started, it’s going to get long and a little hysterical…so I’ll keep talking. We’re great, the kids are great. Things would be perfect if we had a hot tub. Evan: Yes, that’s a great idea. We should put in a hot tub so my teenage son and his purple haired girlfriend… Matt: Lola. Evan: So Danny and Lola can enjoy long soaks while we work late. Matt: Ease off the throttle Dad. We have a secret weapon. Evan/Matt: Elizabeth. Evan: Wait – what happens when she gets a boyfriend? Matt: Shut. Up. LaQuette: What I wouldn’t give to spend a day in your house. Sounds like loads of fun. **tries hard to stifle her  giggling**   LaQuette: Tell me a little about Truth & Tenderness. There seems to be some scary stuff going on for many of the couples that appear in this story. Are you guys all right? Matt: Bumps in the road. A dangerous felon. The usual. Evan: It got […]

Truth & Tenderness by Tere Michaels

Hey my people, It’s your girl LaQuette and I’m coming to you with some amazing news! This news is both filling my heart with joy, and breaking it all at the same time.   The happy part… The next installment of Tere Michaels’ Faith, Love, & Devotion series, Truth & Tenderness, is set to be released from Dreamspinner Press on May 1, 2015.  For those of us that have followed this series from the beginning, we know that the love stories told between these pages are so addicting that you just can’t wait for the next one.   The sad part…   Tere Michaels is gifting us with another book, but it’s the last one in the series, and we’ll have to say goodbye to Matt, Evan, Griffin, and Jim.  Hold on a minute, I need a moment to pull myself together.  Yes, it is indeed the end.  So make sure you scroll down and click the link to pre-order this treat on Dreamspinner Press’ website right now. Available for pre-order on Dreamspinner Press Today! Blurb: Faith, Love, & Devotion: Book Six Newly promoted police captain Evan Cerelli takes command of his own precinct as Matt Haight’s security business begins to expand at a rapid rate. Both of their careers require more and more of their time—away from home and each other. When his most famous clients, Daisy and Bennett Ames, suffer a traumatic breakup, Matt is drawn into a dangerous and dramatic situation. With attentions diverted, Evan and Matt’s tight-knit home life begins to unravel. As Griffin Drake’s movie nears final edit, his thoughts turn toward building a home with his new fiancé, Jim Shea—and maybe even starting a family. Before he can think of a new family, Jim is caught up in his past. The possibility of putting Tripp Ingersoll in jail once and for all beckons, and Jim wants the closure that has long eluded him. As a new lead spurs him on, Jim begins to lose sight of the future by chasing an old ghost.     Both couples struggle to remember that “happily ever after” requires hard work, trust, and tender, open hearts.
