Inspiration for Mitch's Character

A while back, I blogged about finding inspiration in strange places, such as how the town of Pine Lake was born while I was browsing jigsaw puzzles online.

The character of Mitch Lefen has been in the back of my mind for years now, and the inspiration came before I'd ever thought of Pine Lake.

Inspiration is everywhere

Inspiration comes in many forms. Some writers get story ideas from reading newspapers and keeping up with current events. Others use music to get their creative juices flowing.

Me? I don't have one tried-and-true method. Instead, I use a variety of inspiration-inducing techniques, including eavesdropping on other people's conversations and surfing the internet.
