#amreading: The Gallery

…I promise I’m not choosing books simply because they’re blue. I could though. Lots of blue books in my To Read Stack.

I’m about halfway through The Gallery by Laura Marx Fitzgerald. It’s a historical, set in New York in 1929, featuring a sassy Irish maid … and an art-laced mystery that’s still culminating. More reviews from my month’s reading to be found on my GoodReads account. #BookADayInMay

COVER REVEAL: Beneath the Torch

“You.”

Ewan offered a weak smile. “Yes, miss?”

“You’re not Jovan.” Her surprise shifted into dazzling happiness, and she actually hugged him.

“N-no.” Beyond flustered, Ewan cleared his throat. “I do apologize, miss, but do I know you? I’m afraid I don’t remember ….”

“Ewan Johns!” she exclaimed.

“Yes, I’m Ewan.”

“I can’t believe how much you look like Jovan! All you need is a pair of glasses. And maybe a few ruffles.”

Harrow

Tupper dashed ahead, but Freydolf ambled along at a slower pace, mindful of his surroundings, for the sprawling stoneworks were ultimately his responsibility. Their familiarity grounded him, their richness inspired him, and their complexity meant there was always a decent chance of spotting something he’d never noticed before.

#amreading in May

So far, so good! I’m indulging my love for middlegrade/YA adventure with A Book a Day in May. Reviews that aren’t posted here can be found on my GoodReads account.

I promise, I’m not choosing books based on the color scheme of the covers … though I did start The Gallery today, and that has a blue cover, too. Hmm.

#amreading: A Book a Day in May

I like crazy challenges, and I like to read. Since May looks to hold a full month of typesetting for me, I’m mixing up my usual daily routine in order to give myself some downtime away from the computer. In short, I’m gonna READ!

My bedside stack is twenty-odd books high, and I have audio books and digital books queued up as well. Could you read a book a day in May? Join me if you like! I’ll be posting pictures, covers, mini-reviews, and updates here. Follow me on GoodReads, too!

Meadowsweet

Compliments came few and far between, and it was even rarer to find someone who didn’t think him ill-suited to his calling. Freydolf was unaccountably pleased to earn Tupper’s solemn approval for the one choice that had robbed him of everything, yet given him everything he now held dear.
