Driving me Crazy
I don't normally guest blog. Mainly because I don't think I'm good enough to warrant an opinion on another's personal space (yes, as public as a blog is, it's very much someone's baby; programmed to carry their own idiosyncrasies). But when someone you've always admired calls for guest posts on their blog, it would be quite foolish to ignore that call for fear of being laughed out of their

Language Barrier
The elder child goes to an international school. Which means
this is a school where every child, on average speaks about 3 languages
fluently. Feeling woefully inadequate since both kids now speak just one
language passably and although they understand the second perfectly, refuse to
communicate in it, my inner dragon mum arose with a roar and I decided that I
would speak in only the mother

The Coast of Normandy
The last weekend of May was a long weekend for the whole of Romania, So, the husband (he of the restless feet) decided to surprise us by planning a trip (yes, no surprises there, all surprises will include travel of some sort) to Normandy. Well, it was supposed to be a surprise, that is until I started making weekend plans with the kids and the friends and he was kind of pushed into telling me

The Danube Delta
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Yeah, Dickens could very easily have been describing our trip to the Danube Delta. It was the May bank holiday weekend, and just like England, the weather was wonderfully sunny throughout the previous week, but come weekend, there seemed to be a thunderstorm in the offing.
Nevertheless, it takes stronger stuff than the presence of a few

Venimus, vidimus et Romae vicissent
Usually, a 3 day holiday is perfect for a post - you visit all the must-sees, get a feel of the evenings and even have time to re-look the favourites sometimes. But when it comes to Rome, the city is a smorgasbord of beautiful historical monument. Making me think that 3 days was far too short for this beautiful city. So, I'm going to apologise at the outset if I've missed out on a few vital

Jaipur Jaunts
Our arrival into Jaipur was in the evening, so, on our short journey to the hotel, there wasn't much to see. The hotel on the other hand was beautiful. Nahargarh Haveli, like many hotels in Rajasthan is a refurbished haveli, which meant lovely paintings and beautiful furniture. Even Pickwick our resident sceptic was won over. He thought the ornate mirrors were something else and the staff were

All Stations to Agra...
So, dear reader, continuing on from where I left you , Viz the streets of Delhi, we boarded a train to Agra. Now, this wasn't just any old train. this was the shatabdi. Supposedly one the fastest trains to run on the vast Indian rail network. Sadly, the driver hadn't quite gotten the memo. Either that or his idea of fast hadn't quite caught up with the industrial age yet. So we literally

Winter Wonderland
WE INTERRUPT THIS TRAVEL POST TO BRING YOU... well, another travel post, but hang on, this one is SO exciting! Not that the India trip wasn't exciting... but this, this one as Pickwick would put it was EPIC!
Right, so where were we? In Romania, of course - We're kind of running low on the Baa-Lamb's holidays to be anywhere else. And of course, the kids, being kids, had decided that they were

Via Delhi
Its been a while since a travel post. Not because we haven't been travelling, oh no! Its because our most recent trip was to India. North India, to be precise, and I had so much to share, I was quite frankly overwhelmed and didn't know where to start. So, inspired by Pickwick's posts, I decided to split the trip into the pitstops we took along the way. Also, these set of posts are going to be

Leave Them Kids Alone!
I am not usually a parent who rants. I believe every parent
has their own style of parenting which they
trust is in the best interest of their children. So it’s largely live and let
live. After all I’m hardly a role model for the ideal mum. I shout when I get
upset (which is quite often) and I sometimes DO take the easy way out after a
particularly hard day if it’s going to get my kid tucked
