Audible is out there

Audible.com e-mailed me today, 2/1/11 that the audio edition of Redoubtable went live today.

I'd like to thank all you Audible users for your support. All of Kris's stories have earned out, and the royalty check I got this month paid off about half of my co-pays for the appendix operation.

Mike and Kris are grateful.

Redoubtable is out there!

I'm hearing from folks now who have enjoyed the book, even if they did have to have the B&N clerk dig a copy out of the store room for them.  Consider this an open thread to comment on the book.

In the next couple of days, you e-book readers who complain about waiting for a whole year to get something more to read, will have something new to read.

I'm at the Oregon coast learning how to publish my own e-books with Amazon, B&N and others. I'll let you know as soon as the books and short stories are there to read.

I've been invited to LosCon, at LAX, Friday 11/26 through Sunday 11/28. If you've got copies of Redoubtable you want signed, bring them there.

I'll also be at Orycon, Friday 11/12 to Sunday, 11/14.

I've bought a membership in the Reno Worldcon, so look for me there in August 11.

I'm scheduled for NorWesCon 4/21 to 4/24, 2011.

My family has plans to be at the 2011 ComicCon, but I'll have to get back to you when I get my membership in ComicCon. Those are getting harder and harder to get, whether you're a pro or just attending.

I'll keep you up to date as things develop.

e-Defiant availible!

An i-pad reader just pointed out that Defiant is finally available from B&N in e-format! That's a change from just a few weeks ago. Sad to say, it hasn't shown up yet at Amazon, though I expect that will change quickly. There's five different e-formats, at least according to the earnings statements I get twice a year, and if ACE has it out in one format, you can bet its just a matter of time before its out in all of them.

So, Kris is going to Japan, and Spain, and Defiant is finally in...

Galley Proofs are here

The galley proofs for Redoubtable showed up by e-mail Monday.  I've got until Friday after next to get them in.  It was a fun read, even with me having to check the nits raised by the very good copy editor who also went through them.  I laughed and cried . . . and this was my millionth time through them.

I found a really nasty place, the end of the 4th chapter, to leave Kris up a creek without a paddle and you readers wanting more.  I'll publish those 4 chapters on September 1.

The e-book maze

You readers have come across a couple of issues with the e-format. And I got myself an e-book reader finally!

A fan from the UK writes about a problem he's having across the pond. He can't find a way to buy the latest e-book Undaunted. He said Amazon UK didn't offer the e-format.

I checked. Amazon US had it. Amazon UK isn't offering that format. Anyone know why, or how to work around this?

Another fan is a lucky stiff and has a i-pad. He bought the last two books in i-pad format and...
