Day 23- Divine Warriors
Welcome my wonderful readers!
Today I'd like to discuss a topic that seems superficial but in actuality has a lot of substance behind it.
What do you think of when you hear the word Ninja? If you're like most people, action movies come to mind. mysterious assassins running around in black killin' up a storm. But behind the surface of this well-known image is an amazing 2000-year-old art based on perseverance.
Some of you might be aware of the fact that my second ebook novella, Bleeding Perseverance, (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...)
centers around two young lovers whose lives are intertwined thanks to this ancient martial art. So far those who have read it have had great things to say about it, which I'm grateful for:)
But what many of you don't know is that the art is actually part of my personal past. For a couple of years in the 1990's I studied it on a full time basis, and it truly did change my life. I wrote about this chapter of my past(and others) in my autobiography, Power of the Pen, (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...)
and it still amazes me how second-nature it feels when I conjure up the 'ol Ninja inside me some 16 years after my training!
Ninjutsu is a beautiful art, and I'm happy to have been able to share some of it with others through my writing.
See you tomorrow:)

DAY 132 - Ninja Tales
Welcome my wonderful readers!
Ninja. What comes to mind when you hear that word? More then likely, action flicks, right? Especially the ones in the 80's. (American Ninja, Revenge of the Ninja, etc.) In actuality, this is an amazing and spiritual art, which, unfortunately, has been misconstrued by Hollywood again and again.
I had the privilege of studying this martial art back in the 90's, and as it was one of many chapters in my life, I wrote about my training in my autobiography....

If you're interested in a peek of REAL Ninjutsu, here's a clip showing one of its veteran masters....

Like most authors, I sometimes draw from my past when writing my fictional work, and did so for my novella Bleeding Perseverance, which is about a Ninja who goes to Afghanistan and ends up crossing paths with a Muslim girl who could use his help...
