Most Recent 5 Star Amazon Review for A Matter of Circumstance
5.0 out of 5 stars
An adventure!
Multiple mysterious murders, family drama, university politics, deception and intrigue! Nelson Cover provides it all in his latest novel, "A Matter of Circumstance". He packs a lot of complexity into 264 pages.
The characters carried over from the first in this series, "From the Midst of Wickedness", fill out a little more in this volume, becoming old friends who we are glad know better. And, there are a few new ones who deserve to be written about in Volume III. The delightfully surprising JoAnn is one. My favorite of all is the brilliant, naïve, diabolical, gregarious yet gruff researcher, Zoltan - the uncle we all might have adored. University board member, Mark Berger, is full of unexpected twists and turns – an interesting hero. I have yet to figure out the sex appeal of Thomas - perhaps a female reviewer will explain.
Cover skillfully brings us up to speed in the first few chapters, reminding us of the previous plot lines in "Wickedness", and the story spins its web wildly from there. This is an entertaining read - a fun escape during the coronavirus pandemic into other peoples’ lives. In spite of the implications of the title and some of the subplots, this is not a dark story. It is much more of a romp through a landscape that is sinister, surprising and illuminated by moonbeams.

Latest Amazon 5 Star Review for A Matter of Circumstance
Here's the latest Amazon 5 Star Review for A Matter of Circumstance:
Suspense, Surprise, and the Urge to Read Another in the Series
Those who read From the Midst of Wickedness in the Sessions University Series and became attached to the zany characters masterfully developed by author Nelson Cover will not be disappointed in this sequel, A Matter of Circumstance. Most are back for a second performance. And a few new ones join with great promise for figuring in whatever Nelson may have in mind for an encore. This “who-done-it” mystery novel moves rapidly with mounting suspense to, of course, a totally unexpected conclusion. Once you sit down with it, you will not be able to put it down. And like that first drink of good scotch whiskey on a Friday evening, it leaves you with the taste for more.

On June 10th the sequel to From the Midst of Wickedness was published. It is titled A Matter of Circumstance and is now available through Amazon and other online book sellers.
“A fun thriller with compelling strains of personal drama.” Kirkus Reviews
The novel begins at Session University in the academic year follow the drama in The Midst of Wickedness.
Thomas Simpson, the director of communications, finds himself in turmoil as the new academic year begins. He and his best friend, cancer researcher, Zoltan Vastag, a politically incorrect Hungarian, spent the previous year caught unwittingly in a U.S. espionage plot to place spies in Sessions’ international centers. Now they face the challenge of a continuing cover up, a new president who is viewed by the faculty as a common operator and a private investigation of last year's provost's death.
I hope you have the chance to read this new work.
Thanks for your interest!!!
