Behind This Flipper on Flipboard

Enjoying the content in this magazine but wondering who, why and what it’s all for? Is it just an interest? Is it for a thesis of some sort? Let’s answer a question or two and give you a behind-the-scenes look at this magazine’s author and the purpose of the other three magazines he currently compiles for the Flipboard library. Let us introduce you to Michael Forman.

Michael Forman Author

Michael Forman is not just a maker of magazines, he is also author of SEETHINGS, a new psychological thriller novel available in Paperback and Kindle versions. He is the driving force to a series of magazines pointed squarely at topics contained within his novel. Those magazines are:

Black and White Photography – Women
Writing Erotica – SEETHINGS
Sexless Marriage, Story of a
INCEL – Man Living with Involuntary Celibacy

Although somewhat opposites in appearance, each do lie on the sexual and sexuality spectrum – vital clues to the novel’s narrative.

“I have collected a series of written and pictorial examples to attract a certain reader. With luck, subscribers who appreciate the content will follow the breadcrumbs and find my SEETHINGS and the end of the trail and enjoy a damn good read.”

A fifth magazine called Erotica – Black and White Photography was highly successful but removed after complaints closed it off.

“Some folks can’t handle sex at any level. Never a penis or a vagina was posted but couples who were engaged in sensual moments weren’t appreciated so much. A penetrating kiss with a suggestive hand fiercely clutching at a breast tipped the scales over from art to pornography and those who oppose the #freethenipple also opposed this. Fortunately it ran for several months and attracted many readers.”

Ironically, SEETHINGS is not about pornography at all, it’s about un-sexuality or, rather non-sexuality… within a marriage. We all know that matrimonial monogamy is ideal but it’s also torture if one half of the relationship doesn’t want or need sex. Asexuality is the term given to those who see no purpose in it. It’s not about low libido, lack of love or feelings for another, or not making it with the right person, this goes beyond that. This is a genuine feeling of no need for sex no matter the partner, no matter the situation. The buttons never come on, for anyone, for any reason.

How does someone find themselves in such a relationship in the first place?

Whether you’re male, female, asexual or something else, we all want to believe in ourselves. If we work hard, study hard and have the best of intentions for others then we also believe we deserve someone in our life, we’re entitled to the happiness coupledom brings. And it’s taught to us long before our sexual beings become active. This is a problem because our much of our story has been written in our minds before we’ve lived the most important parts of it. Our understanding of our future lover is designed by the complexities of what we believe love and life ought to be. Unbeknown to us, our mind-story has been built on false-plots, dreams, ideals, promises supported by half-truths, simple misunderstandings of self, miscommunication, tradition and religion. Holding hands is a sweet start for our opening chapter. A kiss in chapter two builds a promising narrative. Sexual intercourse…  well, too awkward for some to fit into their book, any book, in any chapter.

Somewhere between falling in love and ’til death do us part the story changes. It has to. Sex is built on two and is a part of life. Asexuality is a part of life too. Merging conflicting sexual preferences into a relationship isn’t romantic or easy. It’s never been in any of the stories we’ve read before. Snow White is supposed to wake from a nightmare, not land in a mine field!

Asexual spouses force their mate to do a re-write whether they want one done or not. Before you know it, happily ever after turns nasty, giving rise to arguments and/or affairs… or is severed completely… often with a lingering hatred attached. SEETHINGS flies directly into this fire and burns white hot!

This from a reader (Peter Elvison) on Goodreads:

“If you love reading books about Sex, Lust, Murder, Psychopaths and Mystery you could read the Bible but that’s too long and boring. So instead read Seethings, the new book by author Michael Forman. It’s got the lot and more. You’ll be glued to the pages right to the very end. A very intense psychological story with twists and turns when you least expect them. A very good first novel. Well done Mister Forman.”

SEETHINGS is available in Paperback and Kindle versions. The paperback is available here. Kindle version is available here.

If you don’t have a Kindle reader, don’t worry, Kindle will provide you with a free app for your phone or tablet so you can start reading right away. It’s available on the same page.

Asexuality Vs Involuntary Celibacy

Asexual: A very unusual term to describe some human's sexuality.

‘Bisexual’ and ‘gay’ are frequently used today but this way to describe a non-sexual is not. It’s often cloaked in other terms like ‘celibate’, ‘low libido’, ‘love lost’ or ‘frigid.’

Like homosexual, heterosexual and bisexual adults, asexuals were exposed to certain relationship ideals when they were children. At some point, their adult life challenged these and then traditional romantic relationships often became confusing and awkward. Many will soldier on in those relationships for fear of being labelled as abnormal.

Involuntary celibacy is a new term given to those who find themselves partnered to an unwilling spouse. How did they become partnered to one in the first place?

Faith, tradition, love and religion play their roles...

Kurdaitcha is near.

From SEETHINGS Novel

Who is Kurdaitcha?

Kurdaitcha is a nasty, vicious and silent assassin spirit named as such by the indigenous people of Australia. He is said to walk so lightly that he leaves no footprints. He covers his feet with bird feathers and human hair and then robs people of their lives. He leaves no evidence and then disappears into the ancient Australian bushland to rejoin his spirit peers dwelling in the Dreamtime.

Kurdaitcha may be this but he is also a living killer currently being pursued by police in the Australian state of Queensland. A number of women have been found raped and murdered but, because the crimes were committed during stormy nights, rain has washed all evidence of them away. Operation Kurdaitcha and it’s team of specialist investigators have been unsuccessful in locating a suspect to fit these bizarre

crimes. While they struggle to find a link that connects the women to their killer, the public lives in fear. Women have been told not to walk alone at night. Suspicious homeowners have been looking inside their neighbour’s trash bins for a weapon.

The police haven’t said much about it but I think it’s obvious now, these victims knew their killer. He met them online with a plan to meet them in life. The signs were there. The opportunities are abound. Kurdaitcha isn’t a mythical creature from aboriginal folklore at all. He’s a flesh and blood psychopath who hides in the shadows of the data world to lure lonely women into the real world to rape and execute them. We just need to find him and find him soon. -Mitchell Felding from SEETHINGS.

Status Update - SEETHINGS

Hi and welcome to the latest update for SEETHINGS (1st April 2014.)

It has been a long, long... LONG road for this novel and you might have noticed a change here and there since the GR page went up. That's because it was a work-in-progress at the time and we needed some meta-tags and pics in the GOOGLE indexing system before its official launch. (As they say in the indie-publishing game, you've gotta get online things in motion ASAP because it all takes time.)

Speaking of which...

SEETHINGS is close to being finished! Now nearing the end of it's 13th re-write it's almost ready to go!

Stay tuned for release dates!

Confession: I raped once. I’ll rape again.

From SEETHINGS Novel

Kurdaitcha

We cast our mind back to those final few moments of Nina’s life when we sipped the soul from her eyes. We rejoiced as she received our flood, gasping out her final breaths from a throat that we held ever so tightly. Apart from this stimulating memory, I have her SIM card—a tiny treasure from the life I helped take.

When the nights are at their coldest and I find myself alone, banished to the spare room, I like to hold that bear a while. I’ll fondle the little SIM between my fingertips until I smile and grow hard, dreaming about the thunderstorm’s of the past, the man beneath the sheets…

…and a monster within.

Hi from Michael Forman (Author)

I’d truly like to thank everyone who has been involved with this project of mine. Your interest and feedback has provided me with the strength to carry on. The book is becoming known through sites like WordPress, Google Plus,PinterestTwitter and Facebook. I’m only weeks away from delivering the final draft to the printer and it looks like it’ll hit the ground running after it goes to market.

Some readers have reported problems accessing the 10 free chapters from/through Goodreads and Readmill. I’m not sure what the problem is or has been but to make sure everyone gets a chance to sample SEETHINGS, I’m providing a PDF link here for chapters 6-10. Chapters 1-5 had a link provided on my previous post. (If you use flipboard you could flick the link in there. Most of the Book-Reader Apps can convert the PDF file using their import option on your mobile device. Any document reader can open PDF on a desktop computer.)

If you have any problems with these let me know via email or leave me a message on this page.

When you have read all ten chapters, please write a review on Goodreads. (Do a search. You’ll see SEETHINGS listed there  displayed with it’s former cover.) The best comments will be used on the back cover and published accordingly.

-Michael Forman

P.S The above shot is not of a person who was raped. SEETHINGS is fiction.
