Birthday

My son Jack is seven today (!). I love this age. He was given a choice of having a birthday party with all his friends or going to visit The Mystic Aquarium for the first time, I am so relieved that he chose the aquarium. I'm not a fan of the whole kid party scene. I made cupcakes for his class, and later today I'll pick up his cake (decorated with a baseball diamond) and some balloons. Pizza

Still, nothing has done more to change – blur, to some degree even erase – the faultlines for poetry in my lifetime than the mass emergence of women writing. For all of the problems that I have with the concept of hybridity in poetry, I can't escape the fact that for many writers, especially those younger than myself, the bifurcation of poetry into two counter-posing traditions is experienced as

And Here's one for Girl on a Bridge

which is scheduled for release at the end of this month (!) Now that I have these movies (I have one more finished for Girl on a Bridge) and after I've posted them to YouTube, and shared them with the usual suspects, I'm not quite sure what else to use them for...I feel like I'm missing something obvious. Hmm. Oh well, it was a lot of fun anyway.

Happy & Frugal & Open to Suggestions

The final galleys for Girl on a Bridge were sent off this week. I am so thrilled, once again, with the book design and super happy that it will be out for AWP Denver. I've also been working on a reading schedule for this year, so far so good, but any leads you can throw my way are much appreciated.*It seems like I am always looking for ways to scale back with the current economy.
