Lemon Slush Cake and Kay Dee Designs Lemon & Olive Kitchen Set GIVEAWAY
As you can see by the recipe it takes a few steps. While they’re easy, it does take time to prepare. You may want to get an early start to making this cake if you need it for a certain time. This can also be made with chocolate pudding. I have not tried any other flavors, I would assume any flavor could work. Hope you enjoy the recipes. Stop back Monday’s for more.
LEMON SLUSH CAKE
INGREDIENTS:
For the pie crust:
1 stick butter, softened
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup chopped walnuts
For the cream:
1 (8oz.) package cream cheese, room temp. (I use low fat)
1 cup confectioner sugar
1 large container cool whip
Pudding:
2 small packages lemon instant pudding, plus milk per directions
DIRECTIONS:
For the pie crust
Mix the butter and flour together, add walnuts, mix to combine.
Empty the mix into a 9X13 pan. Pat the mix to cover bottom.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
Let the crust cool.
For the cream
Mix cream cheese and confectioner sugar together in a large bowl.
Fold in 1 ½ cup cool whip
Spread the mix over cooled crust
Let the mix set up in the fridge for an hour
Pudding
Make the pudding per directions on the package
Let set to thicken up
Spread the pudding mix over cream mix
Let sit I fridge for at least 30 minutes to 45 minutes, 45 is better.
To complete the cake,
Spread the remaining pudding over the pudding layer.
Top with chopped walnuts for garnish
Chill cake until it is set
Serve
