New Release – Sacrifice is here!

Sacrifice Sacrifice – Book 5 in the werewolf romance series Blood Moon Rising
Sacrifice is finally here!

Note: This book is part of a series. While it can stand on its own as a complete story, it’s part of a larger story arc that encompasses all six books. I’d recommend starting at the beginning of the series with the first book, Fever, which is free as an eBook. =)

Synopsis (Contains spoilers for previous books in series)

Though several weeks have passed since her family’s murder, werewolf queen Alara Crescent can’t seem to let go of the pain. It’s festered inside of her like a disease, twisting her thoughts until the only thing she can seem to think about is revenge. It doesn’t help that her dead sister keeps visiting her in her dreams, warning her of an approaching threat that could tear her new pack apart…

Nik knows his mate has changed. Gone is the unsure-of-herself princess, replaced by a werewolf queen with an appetite for blood. Not that he, of all people, can’t appreciate that, but he wants his mate back.

When a doppelgänger stumbles into a pack celebration, Nik and Alara know it’s more than a coincidence. Doppelgängers are bad luck, rumored to make people insane with rage and bloodthirst, on top of being creepy as hell. But no sweat for Nik and Alara. They think they have the problem—aka, “one unwelcome body-snatcher”—taken care of when they send the doppelgänger away with the D.P.I., but their problems are only just beginning. One by one, their pack members fall prey to something sinister, and Alara’s own demons become restless, turning her into a deadly vixen that could rival the vilest and most dangerous denizens of the Underworld. She wants answers to her family’s senseless murders—now.

And she’ll do anything to get them.

Will Nik be able to break the curse of the doppelgänger in time to save his mate before her soul is lost to the darkness forever?

Sacrifice has a release date!

I’m still alive. =) Just been very busy and dealing with things that have come up in my personal life. In all honesty, 2015 can move right on along, as far as I’m concerned. Not the best of years, luck-wise.

Anywho, Sacrifice will be out this coming week, probably either Wednesday or Thursday. (My days off, or as I’ve dubbed them, “get caught up on everything else day”.) I’m sorry again for the long wait, but hope you’ll have fun reading it.

Once Sacrifice is out, I’m immediately going to start work on Ritual, the final book in the Blood Moon Rising series. My goal is get it out sometime in September or early October. So you won’t have to wait nearly as long to read the conclusion as you did to get Sacrifice. =)

When Sacrifice comes out, I’m also going to dive back into social media. I’ve missed it. I don’t like feeling so cut-off from the rest of the world. Pinterest and Google + will be back, and I might try Twitter again. I just hope I don’t get bombarded again with pornography. *shudders* I’m not a prude, but there are some things I just don’t care to see. And for some reason, when I mentioned I wrote sexy romance, I was targeted and tagged in all these “interesting” photos and topics. Maybe it was the key words “sexy romance” that did it. Who knows? I’ll have to do more research into it. Twitter has been the only platform this has happened to me on, with the exception of one weirdo on Facebook, who I promptly blocked.

I’m thinking about giving the Blood Moon Rising series new covers. The ones I have are pretty, but I’m not sure they necessarily fit the mood of the stories. My Her Dark Desires series already has new covers, which I’ll reveal soon. So does my contemporary series, Shatter. Shatter’s covers will go up in September, after I get edits back from another new editor. (Authors, please do your research on editors. Anyone can call themselves one on the Internet. Just because they’re good at grammar doesn’t mean they’ll have an eye for editing a novel. There are so many more things to watch out for, and many freelancers I’ve come across don’t read nearly slowly enough to catch everything. Or they deliver rushed, sloppy work in order to “edit” as many novels as possible to turn a higher profit. I’ll have to write up a post sometime about what to look for when considering an editor, or even a cover artist.)

On a personal note, I’ve been working hard at managing stress. It’s slow going, but I don’t seem to feel quite as tense. (I’ll devote a post to this, too. I suspect a lot of you wonderful readers have been just as stressed out in your daily lives, if not more, than I have.) Also had a great sadness hit me about 2 weeks ago. My little sister lost her baby. He was nearly full term, due in 2 weeks. She hadn’t felt him moving and when she went to the doctor, there was no heartbeat. After they induced labor and she gave birth to him, they discovered the umbilical cord had become wrapped around his neck. I was shocked. I was angry. I was depressed for several days, and dropped weight and couldn’t sleep. Even though he wasn’t mine, I felt his loss as if he was. I can’t imagine the hardship of going to the funeral home to make arrangements and then going home to a nursery full of baby things they won’t get to use right now. For any mother who’s gone through this, I am so terribly, truly sorry. It’s heartbreaking. Now, my sister is considered “high risk,” so if/when she gets pregnant again, she’ll be monitored a lot more closely than she would have been had this not happened.

Sorry to end on a depressing note. I will try to write more cheerful posts next time. Hope everyone has a happy Sunday, and a good week. I’ll send a shout-out to my newsletter, as well as paper my social media with announcements when Sacrifice is finally live.

A small update

FYI, I just sent out a surprise to newsletter subs. If you want in on it, sign up for my newsletter sometime today or tomorrow, and I’ll forward it to you. You can sign up here. Hint: I wouldn’t advise reading this at work. It’s kind of R-rated.

Anyway, back to the update. You may or may not have read my previous post about how I’m trying to reduce the stress in my life. I’ve gone ahead and deleted all blog posts, basically wiping the slate clean there, as well as axing Pinterest and Google+. While I’d like to use all these things, I just don’t have the time right now. I might come back to the blog someday and use it for writing advice/gear it toward writers, but that’s a long ways off.

Admittedly, I feel great cutting all this stuff out. It gives me way less to worry about, and I get to focus more on creating great books for you. Win=win.

Off to work on Sacrifice. Have a fabulous Saturday!

Update

Wow! It’s been a while since I’ve posted. I knew I needed to post an update, as you guys might have been wondering where I was and how things were going book-wise, but I didn’t realize this much time had passed. My apologies.

I’ll go ahead and talk about Sacrifice right away, since I know so many of you are waiting on it. I’m sorry it didn’t come out this month. I was hoping I could get it finished before my hubby and I took off for 2 weeks to visit family out-of-state, but there was simply too much going on. I’ll post more preview chapters soon, since I’m well into the manuscript by now.

While I hated that going away put me behind 2 weeks on my work, it was also a much needed break. I was up to my eyeballs in stress. I haven’t taken any vacation time this year, and day job strains were starting to get to me. Office drama is so much fun, right? =)

On top of that, my husband and I have had a string of very expensive bad luck, starting with the hot water heater going out in March. It’s been one thing after another, to the point if I don’t laugh I’m going to cry, and I honestly thought we weren’t going to be able to see the family I hadn’t seen in a year and a half due to everything draining our bank accounts. (Including a pregnant little sister who’s due soon.) By the grace of God, we made it and I finally got to see my family, which was nice but tiring. Don’t get me wrong; I love seeing them, but when we go see my family, we have like 6 different places to go because none of the people I want to see live close to one another. So it’s always lots of driving and not very much down time. I can’t complain though; at least I have family to see.

We’ve been back home almost a week, and I’m trying to get back into a routine. It always seems to take me a couple of weeks. I can never seem to dive right back in.

You might see some changes around the website and my blog. Namely, I’m thinking of cutting the WordPress.com blog altogether, since I rarely post to it/don’t have time to create the content I want. Pinterest will probably go, too, as I’m not very active there anymore. All of this is along the order of reducing the stress in my life.

My writing time has become more limited because of my new position at work and the fact I’ve started incorporating regular exercise into my schedule. I work in a call center, so I’m sitting down all day. (I WISH we had treadmill desks!) I’ve only been working there for little over 3 years, but I’ve gained 30+ pounds since starting. (YIKES!) I got sick of feeling so heavy and rundown and feeling bad while shopping for clothes, something I used to enjoy. (Not to mention I was getting an irregular heartbeat and headaches that worried me.) I vowed to “get fit,” and have since shed 23 pounds through diet changes and being more active. The irregular heartbeat and my headaches and body aches have vanished, as well.

While I enjoy the energy and stress-relief this change brings me, it also means less writing time. Since I’d rather spend what time I have available writing and creating more books, I’m trying to figure out what else I can cut to reduce my worries and give me back more time to write.

I plan on making a concrete decision soon, sometime this week. Once I decide for certain if I’m cutting the blog and Pinterest, I will let you guys know. I might also bring the ARC list back for Sacrifice and future books, but I’m not sure how I’m going to go about it yet. Decisions, decisions!

Thank you all so much for your patience in waiting for Sacrifice. I promise I’m working hard to make it a book worth reading.

New Release: Shatter Part III – Lies & The Shatter Serial Omnibus Edition

It’s finally out! The last part to my contemporary romance serial. =) I’m still waiting on B&N to go live, and will update those links once it becomes available there.

If you’ve been waiting for an all-in-one edition because serials aren’t your thing, then I’ve also released the omnibus edition. Links are below. Thanks for supporting my books! Both the third part and the omnibus are discounted for a limited time!

all romance_shatterp3The shocking conclusion to the thrilling three-part Shatter serial.

When Amy met Scott, she thought finding happiness was too good to be true, but hey, she was hopeful. Now that a stalker from her past has returned, hell-bent on ending her life, she realizes “happily-ever-after” with Scott is just a dream.

Amy should have known Nathan would never let her go, that his thirst for her blood was insatiable. She should have known she could never outrun her past, that its darkness would follow her into her new life. She’d had happiness, had felt it in her grasp, before it was violently ripped away. The old Amy would have run, would have abandoned the man she loved and never looked back.

Except this time, she’s tired of running.

She’s ready to fight.

Even if it kills her.

NOTE: This is not a standalone novel. It is part three of a three-part serial. The omnibus edition, containing all three parts, is also now available. New Adult Contemporary Romance/Romantic Suspense

Updates and New Releases

This website was long overdue for an update. I apologize about the delay. I’ve had a lot going on at the day job.

New Releases

Parts I and II of my three-part Shatter serial are out. It’s a contemporary romance. Sorry, no hot werewolves this time. =) You can read the first part for free, and the second part is only .99. Part III is currently being edited, and should be out by the end of the month.

General Announcements

Lots of new posts at my blog, Writing Is Sexy. I tend to post on it more frequently than the website, where I do general announcements. Not that I’m a big blogger, anyway. With my new position at the day job, I just don’t have the time right now to do more with blogging. I’m planning on doing more when the time becomes available, but that might not be for a long time.

Writing schedule has been updated. Finishing edits on Shatter Part III and writing Sacrifice are my main priorities.

Also, the entire Blood Moon Rising series is now available at All Romance Ebooks. I’ll be uploading Her Dark Desires and the Shatter serial soon.

I’m also in the process of turning Blood Moon Rising into paperbacks. More about that on my blog soon.

Thank you for reading and supporting my books. =)

New Release! Captured (Book 4 Blood Moon Rising)

Whoo-hoo! It’s here! =) Thanks again for your support everyone!

captured ebook coverRogue werewolf Elijah Johnson would have been better off dead. After being held hostage by a coven of malicious witches—witches who seem to know much more about the dark arts than they should—he takes the first chance he can to escape, only to fall into a trap a month later. When he’s captured during a D.P.I. bust, he expects to be thrown into prison. He doesn’t expect to learn his interrogator is a curvy young witch with hair the color of fire and enough passion for the law to match…

Verika Tate has spent her career trying to uphold the values and morals of law enforcement in the Underworld. Only twenty-six, she is heralded as one of the most gifted witches in the southeastern region. Her life is, for the most part, uneventful. She attends her weekly spellbook club meetings, works out daily to try to shed some stubborn fat that refuses to leave, and buries her nose in the latest witchcraft magazines. Learning is her shield and her only defense for being able to forget the werewolf who broke her heart—Nik Johnson…

When she’s assigned to Elijah, she can hardly believe how rotten her luck is. He looks enough like Nik to haunt her, and his hard muscle and flirtatious quips are enough to make her pant. Verika struggles to keep her heart out of her work, a point which proves especially tricky when Elijah reveals an astonishing secret that could finally break the case she’s been trying to crack—the whereabouts of the mysterious Mistress Black, leader of the witch mafia. The tip is too good to pass up, and she reluctantly agrees to help him escape the witches who have placed a bounty on his head in exchange for information.

Will Verika uphold the law at any cost, or will she risk everything for the sake of a once-in-a-lifetime romance?
