SCENE:A figure, seen from behind, standing on a hilltop. Clad in shining Black Armour. The sky is red with fire and smoke.

VOICEOVER:"War has come to our lands once again. It would seem that all my life has been, all I can remember, is conflict and death..."

SCENE:Closer now. White hair spills from beneath an elegant black helm. An aide approaches and stands by the figures side.

AIDE:"The Chaos Hordes approach from the North...."

SCENE:Huge ships...torn sails...travelling across land...around them the ground bubbles and becomes liquid. Vast, misshapen beasts march alongside.

AIDE:"From the East comes an army of giant Silver men...we fall before them...."

SCENE:Broken ground. Fallen banners. The sight of thousands of metal feet...marching in unison...

SCENE:TARDIS control room. The DOCTOR. Concerned.

DOCTOR:"It's worse than I thought...this is no rift...something punched a hole in the walls between universes....we're not alone in here..."

AIDE:"From the West speeds an army of Bronze Chariots...they say each one contains a single mad chaos creature..."

SCENE:The bottom of one of these 'chariots'....a base...black...merging upwards into angled Bronze metal...there are semi globes arranged up the sides...

SCENE:The DOCTOR. Standing by a ruined stone dwelling. A shadow falls over him...huge. He turns and grins.

DOCTOR:"Ohh....Hello there...aren't you beautiful?"

The shadow grows larger. The DOCTOR becomes worried.

DOCTOR:"Ahh...now, there's a good Dragon....nice Dragon....."

SCENE:The figure on the hill. Seen from the front. White skin. White hair. Blazing red eyes.

FIGURE:"Tanelorn shall NOT fall! This is my word....This is the oath of ELRIC OF MELNIBONE!"

DOCTOR'S VOICE:"The thing is Suzy...the thing is....Not all books have a happy ending...." THE CHARIOTS OF CHAOS ARE COMING....

For WHO Howls the Wolf? - A LITRAVERSE script

There has long been a specific thought in the back of author Kneel Downe's mind.

A "What if..." kind of thought.

A long-time Doctor Who fan and creator of his own fictional universe, The VIRULENTBLURB, he thought "what if... both universes collided?"  If characters from one universe suddenly appeared in the other? If the LITRAVERSE is breached and allows something else in?

The advent of the 50th celebrations for Dr Who has allowed that "What if..." to become a reality.  You will all, I hope, have read the trailer that was published last week (if not, find "For WHO the Wolf Howls" here and read it!)

The story is set during the period in series 6 of Dr Who where The Doctor has temporarily parted ways with the Ponds and he now has a different companion, Suzy.  In the VirulentBlurb universe it is notably only 49 years after the Fall...

VOICEOVER: "My name is the Doctor and I have lived at least Eleven lifetimes...

I have travelled to the End of Time itself and gone back to the dawning of the biggest of Bangs...

I have witnessed the formation of an insignificant little world known as The Earth and I was present at the creation of life...

I have been a Warrior in a War that was not my own...

I have been lost in E Space, been flung into Mirror Realities and I have located all the shards to the Key to Time but even I...

SCENE: A Vast City....Night time...A Full Moon hangs over the scene...A skyline of Neon and Light...Above it all looms a gigantic Pyramid...searchlights cutting the Sky...

VOICEOVER: "My people knew such a place was possible...The Forbidden Texts of Omega make mention to such a reality...Rassilon himself wrote at great length on the probability of this place...."


SCENE: A young Cat Spiced woman...running through garishly lit streets...something is chasing her...misshapen shadows seen on walls...

VOICEOVER: "A Universe created from the stories and imaginings of every sentient race that ever existed...
The LITRAVERSE...."


SNAPSHOT SCENES: A Man shaped Wolf racing up dirty stairs. A Rat Man staring fearfully at the camera. A wall daubed with the words 'WE LIVE' Something seen in the darkness...the morphing of both Spider and Man...

VOICEOVER: "And I really, really should not be here....."


SCENE: The Wolf Man is leaning with his back against a door...the door is shaking...loud bangs and thumps can be heard...he is loading a large dangerous looking gun...

DETECTIVE LOBO: "I counted fifteen of them Doctor...figure I can take out five, maybe six....you ready to die?"
THE DOCTOR: "Oh you'd be surprised, Detective...been there. Done that..."
VOICEOVER (A WOMAN): "But DOCTOR....I don't understand...where exactly are we?"
THE DOCTOR: "Haven't you been paying attention Suzy? We're inside a book...."
SUZY: "But that...that's impossible..."


SCENE: Dirty, smoke filled street...the Doctor is walking towards the camera... He is wearing a Trilby...

Smiling...

VOICEOVER: "Yes...yes it is...and I DO love impossible things...."
