Today the Wolf Gets a VOICE!

Yes, the day has finally arrived when we get our voice of the wolf, Greg Patmore into the studios at Spokenworld Audio to get The JackPort Killer reading done for the audiobook.  We're all incredibly excited here and will let you know how things go!

We aren't quite at the stage where a God-given hero has come down and saved us yet. With only a few days left I have to say that you lot have been beautiful! But we are struggling now. Time is running out and we aren't even at 50% yet funded yet.

I am not beyond begging, so picture me in my loin cloth hopping about with my cup out as you walk past ...

I need you to dig deeper and see if you can spare us some more change, maybe put that spare kidney on a quick 'Buy It Now' 24 hour EBay sale? Hassle your family members to contribute? If they don’t, sell them on EBay? Tweet, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, G+ our plight and beg your friends?

You may be wondering what it's about and why it is so important to me. Here's the thing...

The campaign is to fund the final stages of converting sci-fi author Kneel Downe's book The JackPort Killer into an audiobook. We have the production and distribution costs sorted out, we have even found the VOICE of Kurt Lobo, we just need enough to get everything and everyone together to finally get the recording done.

Why an audiobook? You just need to read the first paragraph of the story to realise that it is a transcription of an audio journal... so we want to give you that original audio experience; to hear the Wolf Splice detective record his own thoughts as the case of The JackPort Killer gets more brutal and more personal... you need to experience the case as it unfolds, as it happens.

Who is this Kurt Lobo anyway? Police Detective Kurt Lobo has been in the VirulentBlurb universe since before the war that cracked the skies. A wolf-splice, he lost his cat-splice wife Katrina when she was brutally murdered by... well, we'll get to that story eventually, and has been working cases for the police department with his partner Geldof (yes, he's a rat-splice) to try and keep some kind of law in a broken city.

The case of The JackPort Killer is ritualistic. Bodies left, tortured and arranged, around the city with messages specifically for Kurt Lobo. Always killed by a rod jammed into the JackPort behind their ears. It starts with strangers and ends with... but I don't want to give the story away if you haven't heard it.

Why is this important to me? I am a creative partner in the VirulentBlurb universe of author Kneel Downe. I do all his editing, promotion and artwork. I am also a business partner in DreamCage Media Group, who are organising this project. So I am involved probably more than anyone else with this.

I firmly believe in this project. This is how the casefiles, for there are many more, need to be brought to the world. If we can just get this first one out there, you will see it for yourself and you will believe too. We will be updating the campaign regularly - the first planned update is on Friday when you will be able to read an extract of The JackPort Killer for free.

So until 8th September, or until we raise the money if it's before that (PLEASE!), I am going to be throwing my weight behind #FILLTheVOID and I can only hope that you, as my friends and supporters will do so too.
