Thank You To The Fighting Brave
When I think of Memorial Day, I think of a farmer with a musket, who became a soldier to become not a colonist, but an American. I think of a conflict in 1812. In my mind I see the soldiers of the Civil War, and Colonel Roosevelt’s RoughRiders at San Juan Hill.
I think of American dough boys as they were called in the forests of France in World War 1. I think of American GI’s who rolled into concentration camps to liberate thousands of Jews, preventing the Nazi goal of the holocaust. I think of those who served in Korea, Vietnam, and so many challenges our fighting brave have answered.
I think of the soldiers who faced the fires of Iraq, the terror in Afghanistan, and of all the families connected with these patriots. To those who serve in uniform, please know that we know, you are the reason we celebrate this day. We will never forget who gave us this time. The smiles, joy, and laughter we’re blessed with daily, came from the blood, sweat, and tears you shed for our liberty.
We will not forget the minute men, or the hours spent in trenches. The days facing things we can’t even imagine. Weeks without one degree of normalcy, or the years spent away from family and home.
Your sacrifice is more precious to us than a day of celebration. For you’ve given us lifetimes of freedom. Today we salute you for your service and sacrifice, Thank you!

Today We Gather
Today, at Point Of Mercy, we gather to worship. We have glorified God in our homes while we waited for this day. We have felt His Presence through this time, and can’t wait to experience worship again together.
Yes, precautions are taken. Yes we now have multiple services to accommodate the size recommendations during this challenging time. Yet, these challenges do not limit or concern a God Who steered His Church through the adversity of Roman persecution, the Middle Ages, bubonic plague, and two world wars.
Jesus made a declaration, “The Gates Of Hell shall not stand against it”. To Him it wasn’t bold, because God knew He had the power to back it up. This was The God Who touched leprosy, and leprosy was gone. This was The God Who reversed the plans of both death and hell. This was The God Who planned on borrowing a grave for three days and three nights just to let the grave know Who it was dealing with.
Our what’s may challenge us. Our whys may puzzle us. Our how’s may delay us, but our Who will always deliver us! It’s time to worship The God Who knows our name, His name is Jesus!

Mothers Day 2020
Today is Mother’s Day. I’ve been blessed to see so many wonderful mothers in my life. First my Mother Phyllis Pruitt, who loved, taught, and invested in me, and continues to everyday. I guess that’s why we give flowers on Mother’s Day, to show them the seeds they planted in us, through love, patience, hard work, and prayers produced the good in our lives. I Love You Mom more than you could imagine!
Other women who’ve poured into my life, from my Grandmothers, Virginia Ruth Hill and Marie Ball Pruitt. Each so special in their own unique way. I remember prayers, laughter, strength, and adventures.
My favorite Aunt, Jean Taylor, who knew how to make things seem magical, and out of the ordinary. When I think of Christmas, I think of Aunt Jean, also a certain reindeer song. I think of countless things, and I cherish both her, and every one of them.
Then there is Sis GLoria Livingston. Her smile and love not only helped me grow in Church, but like so many others, led, and at times, helped carry us through difficult times in school. Taking the time, not just to explain subjects that I struggled with, but to explain why they came across so confusing.
Sis Joyce McCool, I doubt you and Bishop realize the full impact you’ve had on my life, but it can’t be emphasized enough. You have been a lifeline, a comfort, and a testimony to me in the hardest times of my life. We love you, and love every moment we get to spend with you.
Sis Alonna McCool Livingston I’ve oftened wondered how you could hold your positivity, kindness, and strength through all the battles I’ve seen you overcome. The answer is simply, you are a seasoned soldier of the Cross, knowing when everyone is hurting, how to lift us all as only you can.
Time won’t allow me to mention them all, but I will mention just one more. Ashley Pruitt, It’s her second Mother’s Day, and her little fox got her orange roses. It’s sort of #NicholasAsherPruitt ‘a trademark color. It’s also uniquely from his Momma. You see, it was Ashley who adopted the baby fox as the them for his nursery. It’s also the color of the lollipop the judge gave him on #AdoptionDay.
Honey, you were a Mother before we ever walked into that courtroom. You were a Mother before you ever held him in your arms. You were a Momma when you took care of little ones before you were grown, and then helped them with their children.
You were a Momma when you rejected the reports and believed God was going to give us a child, in spite of what the medical charts, and multiple surgeries said. Today, like so many others, you hear what only faith could make possible, Mom. Or the way Nicholas says it Momomomomom. I love you honey!
To all the Mothers of my life, and to all Mothers, thank you for pouring into our lives. For helping us not only to walk, but to get back up when we fell. In this world, God’s Grace is modeled through the heart, and arms of a Momma.

Our Time
John 7:6
Jesus said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always here.
I want to talk to you today, but not about His Coming, but our going. Before I say this to you, let me say this. I believe that Heaven is nearer than its ever been.
At any moment The Savior could rise from His throne, catch away His Church, and command the tribulation to begin. I believe this will happen one day, as much as I believe there are mountains and trees. I don’t know when, but I know it will happen.
Yet, Jesus said, even if it’s not My time yet, ours is always present. Any day could be our last. No I’m not trying to be morbid, only realistic. Let’s be realistic for a few minutes. Before you dismiss it, let me ask you two questions.
First, suppose there is something more beyond this life? If that’s the case, let me ask you my second question. If there is something else, do you want to wait til then to prepare for it? Now that I’ve asked you two questions, let me make two suggestions.
Suggestion number one, most faiths agree on a few things. One of them is this, when this life is over, there’s some reckoning over the events of this life. Also, this life is much shorter than eternity.
Suggestion number two. If the above questions are true, then today is best day to prepare for a tomorrow that could happen at any time. Any of us could go into the unknown at any time.
I think, most will agree the universe exists. Unless your a theoretical scientist, we are all here. If we’re here, and if there’s an after this, someone planned it. Some One is waiting on the other side.
Now, I’ll stop you right there. Many are going to say, but how do you determine Who is out there? Which faith has proven itself as true? I would ask, which one had an Exodus, and a Crucifixion? You see most, even non Christians, agree on both an Exodus and a Crucifixion.
Oh they argue about miracles, the crossing of the Red Sea, and a Resurrection, but let me ask you this. If there is evidence that they left, and that Christ’s not only died, but that His tomb is empty, isn’t it logical they happened too? If that’s the case, doesn’t it mean that Jesus is Who He says He is?
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
I believe Jesus is Who He says He is, and that He not only planned for after, but planned for you and I. If all this is the case, if The Planner and the plan exists, then shouldn’t you at least look at the blueprint? If you’re going on a trip, shouldn’t you look at the map?
Jesus said, Come to me, and I will give you rest. Wouldn’t it be nice to rest easy about tomorrow? To know that when our time is up, everything is taken care of? Jesus wasn’t trying to worry you about tomorrow, or His coming. Instead He wants to reassure us, if we’ll listen.
There will be an end, there will be an after, and there will be a reckoning. There will be joy for many, and sorrow for many, but we can choose which of the two groups we are a part of. I encourage you today, to choose life, choose hope, to choose Christ. I know I have, and my life is full, because He is in it!
