Sketch Fountain Pen Panda

Here is a fountain pen sketch of a panda. The word Panda means bear cat in Chinese. It’s also been called bamboo bear. Isn’t it amazing how, like the Panda, we are different things to different people?

Some call us a parent, spouse, employee, and friend. One person can make an impact in so many lives. When you open your heart to others, you encourage, validate, and empower them. You support them to become unique in their own way, sort of like the panda.

Listening

Thursday evening, Ashley was going to go to the store, but both of us had felt for some reason, that she needed to come home and get me first. While we didn’t know why, we listened to the feeling.

It took a little longer, but we found out on the back way to Mt Juliet. A stolen vehicle passed us, and went off the road, followed by at least 4 or 5 police in high pursuit. The vehicle went off the road when coming towards us, thankfully on the other side, but had already hit a couple of vehicles. Had Ashley and Nicholas been a little farther along, it could have been very bad.

God has His hand on His people, as Pastor said, we’ve got to pay attention, even to the smallest voice, and not allow distractions to cause us issues. They may be unexpected to us, but if we listen to Him, they never surprise Him.

Influencer Beyond Today, After Tomorrow

I have been a student of history most of my life. As a reader of history, you are introduced to an amazing list of individuals from different periods of time. These men and women do not leave the scene without influencing their time, and generations who follow after.

To illustrate in our own US history, decades after the White House, you hear surnames in all areas of culture. The name Lincoln occupied the office of US Secretary Of War long after his Father had been President. Theodore Roosevelt’s grandson worked for the CIA in the fifties. The name Adams works in government today.

Whether Democrat, Republican, American or another nation, families have followed their namesakes into the service of others. Beyond famous names, politics, or even historical significance, families influence more than their today, or their own tomorrows.

I heard one Minister explain that we carry with us the generations before us. As a Dad, I can tell you, when Nicholas hears my voice, he hears a mixture of influences that have formed, rescued, and led me. How vital it is, for us all to remember, our today is so much more important than we realize.

We may view it as a Tuesday, but thirty years from now, a word spoken on that Tuesday may affect how your grandchildren raise their kids. There is not simply a day that does not matter. Every moment counts, each second is linked to the future. This doesn’t mean we will get them all right, or that mistakes can not be corrected, but how much they matter.

If you feel insignificant, unimportant, or not heard, I would like to encourage you today. While I completely understand those feelings, I can tell you they’re never accurate. You’re significance will continue speaking long beyond your lifetime. God not only made you special, He placed in you purpose and importance. As for being heard, words are like seeds, they do not dissipate into the air, but are sown into the fabric of time. They will multiply and produce a harvest.

Lincoln, Adam’s, Roosevelt, these men did not influence generations from the moment they became President, but every year before, during, and after. Your influence is felt, not because of your current position, but because of your God given importance. You make a difference, people are watching, and will imitate tour choices in the future.

iPainting The Weapons Of Our Warfare

2 Corinthians 10:4 (KJV)
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

We all face battles, each of us has situations that can seem insurmountable, but we do not go into battle ill equipped. The God that we serve didn’t just forge the weapons we carry, He went ahead of us, and defeated the enemies we will face. Our victory is assured, and nothing can separate us from The Christ Of Calvary!

iPainting Vibrant Flight

Beautiful parrots have their vibrant colors whether they are in the air, or on the ground. They don’t start out in the air, birds are born in a nest, or on a ground level. They grow into their beauty, but that is not dependent on their altitude, however even their amazing colors are more vibrant in the sunlight as they soar.

God placed beauty in us, before we ever soar, so we should not judge ourselves by our accomplishments. At the same time, He can shine so brightly through us, that it elevates the gifts He gave you, to a miraculous place. This is when you soar above anything we could ever do on our own.

iPainting The Vionlinst Playing

I’ve been fascinated by violins for years. It’s beyond their beautiful music, it’s their unique shape, and their amazing history. While the exact origins are not know, this instrument has been an instrument of freedom throughout history. We all are given what a violin has, a God given gift to do something not of our own making, that with leadership and direction, can produce something beautiful.

Sketch Tawny Owl

This fountain pen sketch of a tawny owl reminds me that God not only made these interesting animals, He orchestrated their worlds. He placed into their environment everything they needed. It also reminds me that, as much as He cares for the birds of the field, God cares for us so much more.

I was watching Bishop T. D. Jakes this morning, and thought I would do a portrait in Procreate.

iPainting One Of His Sheep

This iPainting reminds me of an old story. There was a dinner party, and a famous actor was there. Everyone was asking him to quote literary pieces, from Shakespeare and others. An old Minister was also there, and he asked the actor to say Psalms 23. The actor agreed, on one condition, that the Minister say it after him.

The actor put every ounce he could into the Psalm, and it was well received. The old Minister spoke, and tears flowed from the crowd. Afterwards, someone asked the actor what made the difference. He said it was simple, “I knew the Psalm, he knew The Shepherd.”

iPainting The Bateleur Eagle

This is an iPainting of the Bateleur Eagle. Bateleur is French for tumbler or street performer, and it’s an eagle found in Africa, and part of Arabia. It’s thought that it was the inspiration for the Zimbabwe Bird on the flag of Zimbabwe, and part of it’s culture. It’s called the Bateleur Eagle because of it’s tilting from side to side. Until today, I don’t recall hearing about this interesting creature.
There is always something new to discover from God’s creation, and from our lives. He has placed treasures in every year for us to find.
