Praise for LOVERBOY

“LOVERBOY carries you along a fast-paced track, fools you into thinking you have it all figure out, then slams you into a blank wall around the corner.”
                                                                                                    --- Star Ledger of NJ

“Belsky writes about newspaper reporters in a way that only a newspaper reporter can, capturing the energy, edge and craziness of the newsroom….in a prose as crisp as a just-off-the-press first edition.
                                                                                                        ---Boston Herald

“Lucy Shannon is a gem with her mordant humor, cynicism and love of a good story…LOVERBOY is one of those sparkling quick tales that one encounters far too seldom.
---Erie Times-Union

“Lucy will keep you reading. Isn’t that what good reporters do?”
---Chicago Tribune

First published in ’97, now available for first time as an ebook…just $3.99

"Terrific book!" - Hank Phillippi Ryan

Thrilled to get this early praise from terrific mystery writer Hank Phillippi Ryan for YESTERDAY"S NEWS:

"What a terrific book! A complex and compelling non-stop cat-and-mouse chase--and you're never quite sure which one's the mouse.  Even the savviest of readers will be gasping in awe at Belsky's impressive story-telling skills.
" - Hank Phillippi Ryan    Agatha, Anthony and Mary Higgins Clark award winning author

Donald Bain

So sad to hear about the death of Donald Bain, the wonderful and prolific author of the Murder She Wrote books, Margaret Truman's "Capital Crimes" mysteries and so much more during his lifetime. I met Donald and his wife/co-author Renee Paley-Bain at my first mystery conference for the Gil Malloy books, and they were unbelievably kind to me. Renee actually asked me to autograph a copy of The Kennedy Connection for her, and Donald surprised me by sending me an enthusiastic email afterward telling me how much he loved the book. I have proudly used one of his lines from that email ("Gil Malloy for President!) as an author blurb ever since.
This is me with them at Killer Nashville in 2015. Renee died not long afterward, and now they're both gone too soon. RIP.

The Cinderella Murders

Excited to announce that I've just signed with Oceanview Publishing to do a new book for 2019: a thriller called THE CINDERELLA MURDERS. It will be my second mystery featuring TV journalist Clare Carlson - the first one, YESTERDAY'S NEWS, comes out in May 2018. Here's the official announcement from the "Recent Deals" section of Publishers Marketplace:
August 25, 2017 - THE CINDERELLA MURDERS, by R.G. Belsky
Fiction: Thriller

R.G. Belsky's THE CINDERELLA MURDERS, for a TV news director, the murder of a homeless woman is just another day at the office, until that homeless woman's name is discovered on a hit list along with several prominent and influential people, to Pat Gussin at Oceanview, by Nalini Akolekar at Spencerhill Associates (World).

YESTERDAY'S NEWS - Coming in 2018

Excited to reveal the cover of my new book, YESTERDAY'S NEWS, which will be coming out from Oceanview Publishers in May 2018. It also won the Claymore Award for best new writing project at Killer Nashville last year.

Here's a brief description:

When eleven-year-old Lucy Devlin disappeared on her way to school more than a decade ago, it became one of the most famous missing child cases in history.
The story turned reporter Clare Carlson into a media superstar overnight.  Clare broke exclusive after exclusive and got unprecedented access with the Devlin family to write about the heartbreaking search for their young daughter. She later won a Pulitzer Prize for her extraordinary coverage of the case.
Now Clare finds herself thrust back on this sensational story all over again. There’s new evidence. New victims. And new suspects. Too many suspects. Everyone from members of a motorcycle gang to a prominent politician running for a U.S. Senate seat seem to have secrets they’re hiding about what really might have happened to Lucy Devlin.
But, as she digs deeper into the tangled case, we realize that Clare has her own secrets too.
And, in order to find out the truth about Lucy Devlin, she must finally confront hard truths from her own past.
