Who will watch the watch-drone?
Now that the Federal Aviation Administration has reluctantly released information that some 50 institutions have applied for approval to deploy drones over American communities for surveillance, you have to wonder how will we monitor Big Brother’s all-seeing eyes? It’s not just the Department of Homeland Security but also the Little Rock, Ark.’s police department and the Nicholls State University in Louisiana that have decided they could use drones to observe their jurisdictions. Professional Pentagon drones can run as high as $10 million a piece. How long before the weekenders figure out how to follow these puppie around?

The Middle of Nowhere
Stories from faraway, hard-to-get-to places, where all rules are off, nefarious things happen because no one’s looking, and there’s no one to appeal to.
Fiasco!
Stories of when things go wrong. Really wrong. When you leave the normal realm of human error, fumble, mishap, and mistake and enter the territory of really huge breakdowns. Fiascos. Things go so awry that normal social order collapses. This week’s show is a philosophical inquiry in the nature of fiascos — perhaps the first ever.
The Super
In 1980′s New York City, rent is rising: it seems out of control, and residents struggle to keep up. So Jack Hitt helps organize tenants, and threatens a rent strike. This does not go over so well with his building super, who, as it turns out, is a very dangerous man.
Act V
We devote this entire episode to one story: Over the course of six months, reporter and TAL contributor Jack Hitt followed a group of inmates at a high-security prison as they rehearsed and staged a production of the last act—Act V—of Hamlet.
