Wisdom From A Grownup: Shahid Bolsen Speaks To Israelis
I treasure thoughtfulness. A mind that makes connections; that makes sense of what sometimes appears to be endless, ruthlessly programmed, global confusion. These are observations, thoughts, that few in America have entertained, to our detriment and continued confusion about how the world works. As we send our poor children off to fight and die in places they would never be welcomed as relaxed tourists. ~aw

From the Land of Honest People: A Leader Who Loves Us
This love is what will ameliorate our suffering if not end it, in time. Someone who gives us a tractor when we need one to clear our fields. Someone to sink a well, when we are dying of thirst. Someone who remembers and will teach us also that we know how to make our own beautiful coth, and shoes. Someone who honors the just and places flowers on the grave of another son of Burkina Faso, Thomas Sankara. We are a very old people, but not so aged we can not recognize a dutiful son. ~aw

A Thoughtful Teaching About the Tik Tok Ban… and more
I was surprised by how much I liked Tik Tok. It appeared out of nowhere on my computer and that was scary and offensive so I let it go. But then, I missed it. So I got it back and now it is about to be banned. I appreciate very much our ability, via Tik Tok, to share common struggles as humans (and other animals) on the planet; I was especially grateful, as so many of us were, to have a way of observing, and fighting for, our people in Gaza, as well as in other lands. Most of us are aware that...

BRICS the most important change probably in our lifetime
Probably the most important change most of us alive today will witness in our lifetime. The coming together of the Global South with China, Russia and India, in pursuit of a common future as countries that are/ or will be, at last, free to address their own interests. ~aw

Happy Birthday, Brother Martin. January 15th.
The Dream Time We were there, David D. and I, rebels traveling to DC by bus, and we witnessed the wave you gave to us, the hopeful, multi-colored, peoples of America. I cannot see your face in photographs even now, without crying. But do not think I mind this. After all, I am still alive, largely because of you. In fact, I would suggest to many Americans, who seem to have missed their chance at a depthful happiness, to wholeheartedly weep. Call up your friends and gather them in your arms or o...

Cuba: May the World and Universe Return Your Compassion
It is tempting to forget how cautious we must remain, even in the face of “good” news. Growing up in a peasant household it was normal to hear from parents: “Don’t count your chickens before they hatch!” Or, don’t speak of anything landing, and certainly not wealth, until it hits your bank account. And so. Cautious optimism about this move. Fingers crossed. ~aw Mir Y Drusba! Peace and Friendship! This was a slogan long ago. To see it still alive, among the same people, is worth being alive...
