I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of our dear Mama Mable Segun @95 - a remarkable Nigerian poet, playwright, and writer of short stories and children’s books. She was also a founding member of The Association of Nigerian Authors, established by Chinua Achebe.
I once wrote a story titled “I’m Taking It To The Grave”, inspired by a photo of her in Strasbourg, France, in 1983. A mind travel down memory lane, the story was longlisted for the #Afritondo #Prize in 2023 and published in their anthology, “The Anatomy Of Flying Things”.
It’s unfortunate that I never got the chance to give her a copy before her passing, but I hope many will read the story, smile, and, just maybe, believe it’s pure fiction not real life! 🤣🤣🤣.

Poetry is more than words; it’s rhythm, emotion, and a voice for the human experience. World Poetry Day reminds us to celebrate its impact on culture, storytelling, and expression.
Today also marks the anniversary of my first poetry book, a Novel in Verse and a first of its kind, titled "Road To Rapture".

Description:
A young woman’s story
As she journeys through life
Filled with love, pain, betrayal, deceit
Scandal, secrets, and the hope of recovery.

It’s a blend of prose and poetry, in a way you’ve never seen before. Even a priest who thought it was a religious book found out that it was a book filled with love, betrayal, and a lot of scandals 🤣. He was so engrossed that he almost arrived late for service! The interesting thing about the book is that you can’t skip a poem ahead, each one leads into the next, so every word is essential to the journey.

Writing Status: 2024 Missions Accomplished!

Last year was busy yet amazing for me; new job, fun colleagues, new bond, exciting adventures, and never a dull moment! However, my baby (writing) suffered, constantly pushed to “tomorrow”. 
The good thing is, every December, I promote my writing guide with the tagline: You can still write a book before the end of the year.
This time, as I wrote it, I told myself the same thing. So, I dusted off a dialogue-driven novelette trilogy idea I drafted back in 2021, inspired by the #Before movie series.
I thought I had faced tough writing challenges before, but this trilogy has been my toughest yet—developing and writing three unique yet interconnected stories, with 90% dialogue, and designing covers that reflect the stories’ style and tone—all within one month.
Ladies and gentlemen, I’m thrilled to announce that all three parts of my Two Hearts Series were published yesterday, 31st December 2024, exclusively on Amazon!

Happy New Writing Year

Yes, my writing ‘year’ is just starting. If you are like me, you would have taken one or two months off after a busy writing year, or should I say, a busy writing ‘10’ years.
Last year November, to the glory of God, I marked 10 years of self-publishing with 40 published books 😊. I also smashed a few writing challenges, or goals, I set for myself when I started the journey. I call them challenges because I challenged myself to accomplish them:
1. Write and publish in all 3 branches of literature: Prose, Drama, Poetry2. Write all forms of prose: flash fiction to epic3. Write several genres: from realistic fiction to Science fiction and non-fiction4. Write 3 different series: short story, novella, and novel. Though this wasn’t a goal, I joined the Wattpad 12 days of Christmas writing challenge and wrote a Christmas/themed short story collection of 12 unique stories in 12 different genres5. Use all the alphabets from A-Z to title my books. Some of my books were inspired by their titles. This was just a fun and creative challenge, which I enjoyed 
You can also achieve your writing goals this year… all you need to do is START, and my writing guide, Learn To Write A Book In Under Two Weeks, is a great place to start.

The book was inspired by a visit to one of the construction sites of my previous employer @BusinessContractingLtd after 4.5 months of work (Swipe to see previous photos). The book was completed in 2018 and was waiting for the perfect moment to meet the world… the moment is here 😊.
Description:A British civil engineer goes missing from a Nigerian construction site, and circumstances unfold, revealing that a potential crime may have occurred. However, with no body to be found and over a hundred people present at the site, solving the case seems impossible. Inspector Tunde Osbourne must team up with a British detective to crack the case within an impossible deadline. Everyone is a suspect until proven otherwise.
