I Am Enough

by Andréa Dykstra

When I was presented with the opportunity to collaborate withI Am Enough Institute, I paused for the briefest of moments before accepting.

As a moment is full of infinite potential, I am not sure how long, in linear terms, that pause lasted.

I do know that it was well worth the introspective journey!

Picture January is typically the month when people are focusing on life changes, and setting intentions through resolutions. For many people this means exploring a relati...

Is it possible to remain unchanged by success?

by Andréa Dykstra

When I awoke earlier this week to the news that The Missing Piece: A Transformational Journey was an International Bestseller in three categories (including #1 in two of those!), I was a bit overwhelmed.

One the one hand, I understood fully and completely that I (as in the great "I am") remain completely unchanged by this achievement.
Yet, in this understanding, Ialso realized that success has a way of opening us up to more gratitude. And, gratitu...

Self-love, The Missing Piece for many of us

by Andréa Dykstra

I must have been teaching Search and Rescue for about 8 years before it hit me.

There was another group of new MIT's (Members in Training) in the Team Leader class, and we were covering the basicskill set required.

I was in the middle of the training material, and was repeating instructions that I had recounted countless times before; "You must look after yourself first. Then you worry about your team, and only after that do you look after the subject. If you d...

It is time to awaken to the illusion of our mind

by Andréa Dykstra

I have been engaged in an intriguing conversation over on Google+; it all started with ablogI sharedon dualitybeing posted inthe Philosophy of Mind community.

A conversation ensued, and it seemed that there was a mix of resistance andopenness within the dialogue exchanged.

Eventually, I came to realize that my latest reply tothe conversation would be somewhatlengthy, and may benefit others, so I turned it into this blog...
We each create our...

It IS possible to heal anything, Why I RISE with One Billion Rising

by Andréa Dykstra

After announcing that I had joined the cause One Billion Rising, an interesting thing happened.

I talk about that experience on this video.

And, I thought it may serve others if I also offer a simplified statement as to why I rise; a global declaration.

Because I prayed about it, and I was urged to speak out.

For the ones who h...

Rise with me and HEAL the World, One Billion Rising!

~by Andréa Dykstra

I have a dream...

And much the same as Martin Luther King's dream, it really is plainly a call to one thing.

Unity.

As I contemplated the power of unity, I allowed my mind to drift back a few days, to the moment when I first read the news story that compelled me to RISE UP and HEAL the World with One Billion Rising!
It was a story about a young Indian woman beaten, raped, violated, and murdered by six men, in New Delhi, India. Her parents have asked for privacy so...

A smart woman's guide to twitter

With life-altering illness comes just as pivotal medical bills.

You start to trim costs, scaling down to the tiniest of a presence simply to continue to enjoy a quality of life while on this earth.

And so it was, that my husband and I found ourselves actually sitting down together to learn Twitter.

We had notions of learning the art of The Tweet, and what the heck a #hashtag was! Picturefunnypictureoftheday.net What I would love, is to spend less time on the computer and on the little t...

One Billion Rising, Why I RISE up and heal the world!

Over two centuries ago, Bishop George Berkeley posed the philosophical question, "If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?"

I say, YES!

It's called the ripple effect.

Like the first time that I spoke out publicly about being raped.

I was acting as the proverbial pebble in the pond, sending out ever expanding ripples across the water.
And I was also those ripples; breaking my silence on being raped, allowed me to also speak out about the ye...

Funny how when you're dead, people start listening

2013.

I thought that, after taking a one-week hiatus from work (and the computer), I would feel rejuvenated and invigorated; ready to take on the world!

The truth is, I feel fatigued, drained, unwell, emotional, and sicker than ever.

So sick in fact, that when Paul asked me whether I was ready to give up (we both believe in the right to die), I had to think about it for two days before I could answer him...

Picture I have lived an incredible life!

I have traveled the world; six continents,...
