First Toronto Public Library Event
The "Author Launch" at the Wychwood library yesterday (June 11, 2014) was well-attended with a stimulating discussion afterwards. I was very excited to interact with people who hadn't even read my book yet, but quickly related to my doctor tales, career trajectory and family stories. My sincere thanks to the Branch Head, Isobel Lang, for all her hard work.

My first TV Interview about ESCAPE FROM THE BEDSIDE
I was very excited to be interviewed by Mark Paine about my memoir on 'daytime' on Rogers TV Cable 20 in Kitchener Ontario. My younger sister, Lynni, drove out there with me, and we celebrated afterwards with burgers at "The Works Burger" on King Street South in Waterloo.

Silver Medal -- Independent Publisher Book Award: Canada-East Best Non-Fiction
I am delighted to announce that I have been awarded a Silver Medal for my memoir, Escape From The Bedside, in the Canada-East, Best Non-Fiction Category in the Independent Publisher Book Awards (IPPY).
Unfortunately I am unable to attend the awards ceremony in New York City on May 27 2015, but I look forward to receiving my packet in the mail, so I can affix the silver stickers to my books. In honour of the medal, instead of giving out caramel Werther's candies at my readings as I've done in the past(which happen to match my book cover), I will happily distribute silver Hershey's kisses.
Now I have to get busy on revisions of my upcoming novel.
