Author Stephen Coonts celebrates 1st Flight at Kitty Hawk
What blows me away, Stephen, is that our species (scientific classification, Homo sapiens -- Latin: “wise man”) has existed for ca. 200,000 years. We became smarter, gradually, as our population increased.
Nevertheless, it took one hell of a long time to arrive (about 550 years ago) to Reformation, Renaissance, Industrial Revolution, Digitization, Robotics... where we are today.
The time lapse of irrational to reason: only 550 years out of 200,000. And then, just 11 years after that first successful flight at Kitty Hawk [pictured] we began using our airplanes to kill one another.
And then, just 66 years after that first successful flight at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, Homo sapiens flew to, landed and walked on The Moon, And that was accomplished in the middle of the Vietnam War -- in which you and I, Stephen, participated.
The entire Vietnam War (1955-1975) brought about the untimely deaths of over 1,353,000 Humans*... proving once again that War is what we Homo sapiens do best. And that, on the graph chart of time, has continued until 11 minutes ago.
So, what's my point? I'm not absolutely sure. However, it seems the moral lessons given to us by the Great Souls, Prophets and Enlightened in Early Ages should offset our propensity to violently spill blood. Will that time ever come... and permanently remain? Will our Messiah's return?
