Review – Mate of the Werewolf by J.S. Scott

We did vampires, so I thought this time we should do werewolves. Next time, I promise we will get into the weird stuff.

Some authors write erotica because they have a passion for it. Then there are those who write it because they think they can make a quick buck and get it over with as soon as possible. I got the feeling that this author is the latter.

The story centers around a veterinarian named Grace who has a wildlife sanctuary. She is at a charity function trying to raise money for the sanctuary when, in comes her alpha male werewolf who also happens to be her biggest backer. He senses her before he even sees her. His instincts tell him that she is his mate. When they meet, he drags her off to the bathroom where you have the best sex scene in the whole story. He then tells her that she needs to mate with him. If she refuses, he stops funding her sanctuary.

Dick move aside, what is the point of this ultimatum? I know there needs to be a conflict, but this is a short story leading up to a sex scene. We know how the issue is going to be resolved and it is as predicted. The fact that he is essentially asking her to marry him after mutual oral sex in a bathroom would be dilemma enough.

The biggest disappointment though is the scene when she agrees to “mate” with him. Grace does show some interesting personality here, but that is the highlight. I do not even have that many details to give away. The scene did not leave me wanting more or satisfy me. To illustrate further: When I was done reading the scene, a million female voices in my head shouted something along the lines of “If I wanted that I would have just had sex with my husband.”

After Grace mates with her Alpha, (which I had to keep going back and reading because I kept blinking and missing two thirds of it) Grace then thinks about her future and explains how he is an alpha, she is stubborn, and that will cause future tension. Gee, thanks. Why not just show these traits a bit more and let us come to our own conclusions if we so choose?

Sorry, but I say avoid this one. There is better werewolf stuff out there.

Review – Burned by Jennifer Blackstream

Welcome to my first book review.

Since it is October, the month of Halloween, I thought I should do a theme for this month. A sub-genre of erotica seems to be gaining a stronger foothold as of late. I do not know how seriously people are actually taking it, but I have decided to dedicate every October to this sub-genre. The genre I am talking about is Monster Porn. It comes in many varieties. You have your basic vampire and werewolf stories. Then you have your favorite random tentacle beasts. Varieties of dinosaurs take the stage, mostly raptors with a few T-Rex thrown in. You finally delve into the mythological realm with Griffins, Hydra, and my personal favorite: Dragons!

For the first review of this month, I thought I would keep it simple and do a story with vampires.

A vampire named Aldric seeks revenge against a sun goddess he once worshipped. When he was human, he saw his village destroyed by his enemies and blames her for not protecting his people. A vampire, whose name eluded me, gives him a chance to seek revenge by making him immortal. By making him mortal, I mean turn into a vampire of course. A few hundred years later, the sun goddess, named Saule, comes to the mortal realm in human form. A faire queen who summons Aldric so he can take his revenge captures her. He finds Saule naked and chained, and his plot for revenge unfolds.

I am happy to report that Aldric or none of the other vampires sparkle. I feel glad that I am reading a story with an evil vampire who is not hopelessly in love with a woman despite his nature. He does not want to “make love” to this woman, and that is the way we like it! Although there is malice in his intent, it adds to the heat instead of raising your red flags. This story will satisfy the serious vampire fans with plenty of erotic blood drinking in addition to the regular erotic activities. This story is 99 cents on amazon.

Introduction

Hello and welcome!

The world is full of erotic writing, pornography, and sexualized images. This my friends is awesome! What I am hoping to create here is a fun and safe environment for people to learn about erotic writing, and indulge their fantasies, and hopefully draw attention to my own erotic writing. Image

I will be doing reviews of erotica stories on this site. They will be mostly those short 99 cent e-books you download on Amazon.com. If you have any stories that would interest you please feel free to leave a comment. Let’s have some fun!

Buy book one of the “Kept” series here.
