Camouflage Kisses
Camouflage Kisses
A girl raised a hunter and taught how to fish,
brought up by mountains and Remington twelve’s,
who goes after dreams and every wish,
and is whisked away to worlds that sit on the shelves.
Painting her nails beside a campfire she built
and carries her nine to protect her from the world,
she holds up her life when the earth seems to tilt,
ain’t nothing in this world like a Colorado girl.
Her camouflage kisses send me to the moon
when I see how loud she lives.
Everything she does makes me just swoon
seeing the peace in her eyes when she gives.
And nothing in the world tugs at my heart
more than seeing her aim that gun,
pulling that trigger and hitting her mark
just lets me know she’s the one.
She ain’t afraid to chip any nails
changing a tire or two.
Won’t bat an eyelash when gutting a fish
and still look like a beauty queen when she’s through.
This chick will knock a bitch out and chug a beer when it’s done
leaving your life in a swirl.
She’ll look at you and wink before you’ve begun
ain’t nothing in this world like a Colorado girl.
Her camouflage kisses send me to the moon
when I see how loud she lives.
Everything she does makes me just swoon
seeing the peace in her eyes when she gives.
And nothing in the world tugs at my heart
more than seeing her aim that gun,
pulling that trigger and hitting her mark
just lets me know she’s the one.
My heart does a back-flip seeing them painted on jeans
knowing she could hold her own.
Wearing high heels while chasin’ them dreams,
and camo when the geese have flown.
On the back of my bike with the wind in her hair,
or mudding getting dirt in them curls,
Of all other places no one can compare
to the grit of a Colorado girl.
Her camouflage kisses send me to the moon
when I see how loud she lives.
Everything she does makes me just swoon
seeing the peace in her eyes when she gives.
And nothing in the world tugs at my heart
more than seeing her aim that gun,
pulling that trigger and hitting her mark
just lets me know she’s the one.
