Lily and the Warrior’s Bow – Weekly Render
[Mission Briefing]
Subject: Interview with Lilylhazoraitev (Lily)
Choices. It’s all been about choices. Not just today, but ever since I got the call. That call that some beings want and others dread. That call into the service of Queen Deceptra’s Mosha Guard. To obey, absolute, without regard for anything else, her majesty the Queen.
I know. I get it. I’m sure that anyone can see the irony in this. If you are called to obey, what choice do you have? Especially when your race is under contract or perhaps indebted to the one you’ve been called to serve. After all, Queen Deceptra did deliver the Mosha from a war that would have likely killed our entire species. Still, I say there was a choice. Live and serve or abstain and die.
But I won’t mislead you. No need to obscure the truth of my choices. I was happy, eager to join. I did everything I could do to get to the top of the list. To be the best of my tribe. The best of the Mosha, just so that I could get noticed and enter the Mosha trials. I wasn’t blind. I was simply willing, proud even. And those decisions, how I lived my life, how I stepped over and around others who I deemed to be in my way, those choices are the ones that shaped me and brought me to where I am today.
Lighterious Three. A luminous-rich planet, just inside the outer rim of the Chesarn Nebula. Most species wouldn’t be able to stand the constant bright light that the planet’s atmosphere generates day and night. The atmosphere is certainly safe enough, breathable and all. Still, the light, it can blind you if you aren’t careful. But the light doesn’t bother me. Mosha are adaptable. Our abilities allow some of us to adjust our sight as needed. It’s a useful talent when guarding the Queen, or her commanders, in adverse conditions.
My mission here was simply to investigate and observe. The Queen’s orders to Regent Hesh were to send a member of the Mosha Guard to Lighterious Three, search for a specific energy signal, and report back the findings. I volunteered. My choice. Same as always. Stand out, not behind. The trip to Lighterious Three took three days, so I commandeered one of the M27 mech walkers and had the maintenance crew paint it to my liking. The tactical commander, Winwin was her name, didn’t like me taking one of her mechs. She definitely didn’t like me painting it. But that was my privilege and my choice. After all, I am in the Queen’s Mosha Guard. I actually said that to her. Wow, right? Besides, I really can’t stand those Raysha Squad creeps. Let Commander Winwin of Raysha Squad file a complaint. I didn’t care at that time, and now, well, I guess it really doesn’t matter.
When I touched down on Lighterious Three, my objective was clear. Follow my orders. Do the job. Search for the signal. Observe, then get back to the drop site. But something happened my second night on planet. I found the signal. But it wasn’t at all what I had expected. It was, it was calling to me. Not like, by name or anything. More like a song that just grabs you and you can’t let it go. I was still fifty-two clicks away, but it felt like I was standing right beside it. It took me a while, a long while, to realize that the signal wasn’t coming through my communications panel. I hadn’t even realized that I had never turned it on. I didn’t understand. To tell the truth, I kind of thought I was crazy.
The next thing I knew, I was right outside of the temple. Our scans hadn’t even detected a facility of that size on the planet. Our probes never reported a structure like this. Only tent cities spread around the planet. I have no idea how the amazing facility just popped up out of nowhere. But there it was. Ostog Temple. And don’t ask me how I knew the name, cause I don’t know.
I pushed up my visor and then took off my helmet. My eyes quickly adjusted to protect me from the light, turning azure blue. My eyes turn different shades, based on what I need to be protected from. But I like azure blue the best. And to be clear, I look great with azure blue eyes. Anyway, before I knew it, I had driven my mech close enough to encounter a shield that I didn’t even know was there. My scans never picked it up. It’s like all of the technology I had at my disposal was infantile. So, I opened my hatch and climbed out. My mech was parked partially through the shield. As choices go, maybe that one seemed a little sloppy. But it didn’t seem to be an issue at the time. Even so, this was when things got a little strange.
I climbed, or I jumped down from the cockpit of the M27. As I landed on the ground, standing right in front of me was a warrior in a suit of armor. Then, before I could blink, the warrior was gone. And don’t ask me how I know this, but that warrior’s name was Yakhan. It’s not like we were introduced or anything. Like I said, there one second, gone the next. And that’s not all. After that split second, I knew what I was here to retrieve. And yes, I know that retrieval was not mentioned in my orders.
Kshth Adrckon. The dragon bow. That was the name of the warrior’s weapon, Yakhan’s weapon. And it was still calling to me. I think that Yakhan wanted me to retrieve it. But I also think that Yakhan was somehow giving me a choice. Light or dark. Not a choice for what I would do once I retrieved it, but a choice that would lead to being able to retrieve it, or not. It was as if, in that split second, Yakhan had managed to have a very long conversation with me. Choose the path of light or the path of dark and then proceed.
Even though I understood the words in some child-like way, I really have to say that I don’t think I fully comprehended the message. I assumed it meant: follow Queen Deceptra and support her as she conquered the rest of the Chesarn Nebula, or leave the Mosha Guard and face her wrath. I’m pretty sure that plays into it somehow, but not entirely. After thinking about it for a while now, I realize that it was more straightforward than that. Change my heart, try doing good, and helping beings not as fortunate as me. Try not to make everything about me and try concentrating on others instead. And the warrior’s bow wasn’t something that would be a prize. It was something that Yakhan was entrusting me with. A gift, but more than a gift. If that makes sense.
And in that split second, I made that choice, and the light entered into me. Into my very being, my soul. Suddenly, I could hear the song getting louder. I started running toward the sound. Up the stairs, turning and turning again. Running through passageways. Climbing and climbing until I saw it. Bright light coming from a beautiful and ancient-looking door. I stopped in front of it, the song, so clear. I reached out my hand and pushed the door open. Even with my azure eyes, the door’s light was almost overwhelming. Still, I could see. There, in the middle of the room, the pitch-black room, floating in the air, was the Kshth Adrckon.
A bow with no arrows. It was shaped, beautifully crafted, in the likeness of a dragon. Its eyes were red jewels. It had four wings, the center two attached to the top of the bow’s string. The bowstring was red and reached down to the dragon’s tail. Silver, red, and black were the colors of the dragon. And it was ancient. It had seen battle. And when I touched the handle, it was as if we had been reunited at long last. I know, I know. Like I said, I had never seen it or anything like it for that matter. Still, I was connected to it. It was more than familiar. It was as if I had been in each of those battles with it. I know that probably sounds strange. But it had somehow become a part of me. That was when I heard them, or maybe the bow warned me about them. M27 mechs, an entire platoon of them. And once again, I was faced with a choice.
I made my way back to the temple only to see three mechs parked behind mine. In the distance, I could hear more on the way. Winwin’s personal mech was the closest. What were they doing here? Did they track me? Of course they did. I was definitely long overdue to report to command. Time to make a choice. Winwin would certainly demand that I hand over the weapon and surrender to be taken into custody. After all, I had violated my orders, Regent Hesh’s orders. Well, no need to sugarcoat it, I violated Queen Deceptra’s orders. And knowing Winwin’s reputation, she would push me until I fought, simply so that we could do battle. She lived for battle. So, should I choose to put the weapon down and surrender? Or would I choose to go with the dropship that just appeared and opened fire on Raysha Squad?
I didn’t know who was in the dropship. The only insignia I could make out was the symbol of the Watch, the all-seeing eye. I didn’t know much about them, but everyone knew that they were bad news. The question was, what in the world were they doing here. And from the little I did know, I didn’t think that the Watch and Queen Deceptra’s forces were a war. I thought they were aligned somehow. If Zeta 6 was on that ship, things were about to get a lot worse. But that begged the question, why were they helping me? Why were they shooting at Raysha Squad and not at me?
Then something in me told me to use the bow. I didn’t understand at first, but it was the bow. I mean, it wasn’t talking to me. Not out loud, at least. But it was definitely telling me to use it. To raise it, point it at the battle, and pull the bowstring. Now, I know what you’re thinking. No arrows. Or maybe you are thinking, bow against mechs and a ship. Well, for a split second, I thought both of those things. It’s not like I’ve never been in a fight before. It’s what I was born to do. Anyway, I did it. I raised it, pointed it, and pulled back on the bowstring. Then, a giant arrow made of intense light formed in front of me. I released the string, and the arrow flew. It split into multiple arrows of light, passed straight through the shield that my mech was parked in, and ripped through the dropship, Winwin’s mechs, and the mechs that were arriving behind them. I thought I saw one of the explosions in the distance trigger a little early. I guess one of the M27 mechs got a shot off or something.
What just happened, I thought. Then, as the field of battle turned to silence, she appeared. And yes, she couldn’t just show up in a normal way. She stepped out of a portal made of light. But that probably doesn’t sound strange to you. Regardless, I didn’t feel any danger, and the bow wasn’t warning me about anything. In fact, it, well, I was at peace.
“My name is Shyah,” she said.
“I know who you are. You are required reading for Deceptra’s Legion, Raysha Squad, and the Mosha Guard. You are one of the War Commanders. Former servant of the Destroyer, and an enemy of Queen Deceptra,” I replied. It was at that moment that I realized that I hadn’t called Queen Deceptra, my Queen. I don’t know of Shyah noticed it. If she did, she didn’t say anything. She did, however, nod.
So, I asked her why she was here. “It’s nice to meet you, Commander Shyah. My name is Lilylhazoraitev. Most just call me Lily. Are you hear to try to take this away from me?”
She smiled and said, “No, Lily. I am not. I have been entrusted with Yakhan’s hammer and Yakhan’s shield. You have awakened Kshth Adrckon, Yakhan’s bow. And she has entrusted you with its safety. I am here to offer you a safe place. To allow you time to understand what has just taken place.”
“How did you know I was here?” I said. I asked it, but I really didn’t care about the answer. I was just stalling. I didn’t know why. I guess I just wasn’t really ready to leave yet. She said something about her team noticing the spike of energy that blah blah blah. I don’t know, I wasn’t really listening. In my defense, a lot had just taken place. Did I mention that I took down a full squad of mechs and a dropship with one light arrow?
“You okay? You didn’t hear a thing I said, did you?” Shyah said. “It’s okay. I understand. The same thing happened to me when I first met Yakhan. She has a way of changing your life.”
“Agreed,” I said. “Look, I’ll be honest with you. I need a minute to think. Something is telling me that I can’t leave yet. There’s one more thing to do, or maybe—”
“Or maybe what?” Shyah asked.
But then I think she felt it too. We both turned and looked. Someone was walking toward us. Toward the temple, I should say. After all, they wouldn’t be able to get through the shield. At least that’s what I thought at the time. It was another female. Not too tall. Slender and fit. Dressed in silver and carrying a sword. I started to raise the bow but realized that it wasn’t asking me too. I mean, I guess I could have if I wanted to. The bow wasn’t stopping me, but it also wasn’t telling me to use it. So, I chose not to.
Shyah was frozen. Like she had seen a ghost or something. “You okay?” I asked.
She didn’t answer at first. That was when I realized that her eyes weren’t real. They were artificial. I hadn’t realized it until that moment, but the light wasn’t bothering her at all. Her artificial eyes must be able to refine or process the light in a different way. Similar to the way I did. Another moment passed, and then she said, “I, I can’t believe it.”
I wanted to ask what it was she couldn’t believe, but I figured if she wanted me to know, she’d just tell me. As it turned out, she didn’t have to. I finally realized who was walking toward us as the woman walked right through the shield. And the tears rolling down Shyah’s face confirmed it.
“Armas?”

The Call – Weekly Render
Mission Update:
The validity of the following report is questionable.
Call received on sector date 8071-005 GTP. Conversation recorded as follows:
“Hello? Hello? Is anyone there?”
“Yes, this is Janah. You have reached PEAL, the public emergency assistance line.”
“Umm, I think I need help. Can you help me?”
“I would be happy to help you. Please state the nature of your emergency.”
“Robots! Evil robots! He’s controlling the robots and killing everyone!”
“Someone is controlling the robots and killing everyone? Can you tell me where you are located? We can’t seem to get an ID TAG on your location.”
“I, I, I’m not sure. It’s dark here. I can’t tell where I am?”
“You sound kind of young. Can you tell me your name?”
“Ahhh! It’s back. It’s a big robot. It’s red, and it has arms. It’s trying to catch me. I need help!”
“We are currently trying to pinpoint your location so that we can send assistance. Can you tell me your name, please?”
“My name is Ze—” [inaudible]
“Z? Okay Z. Just hang on. We should be able to pinpoint your location soon. Z? Z? Are you still there, Z?”
“Yes. I’m still here. Please help me. He’s coming after me, and he has another robot. This one is smaller, but it has a flame thrower on the front of it.”
“A flame thrower?”
“Help! Help! He’s coming after me. I can see him.”
“Z? Can you describe him for me?”
“Describe him? Yes. Umm, he’s short. Wait, he’s tall now. No wait, he’s changing. He’s small again. And he’s wearing a Calarin uniform with a helmet. And he has a—” [inaudible]
[voice off-mic in background] “He’s wearing a Calarin uniform?”
“Z? Are you with me? What does he have? Z? Z?”
“He. He has a. He has a dragon. It’s red, with big horns. It’s the one that’s making the fire. Not the robot. It’s the dragon. Oh, no!. Oh, no! Help!”
“Z? Z? Z?”
[Call disconnected]…
PEAL was never able to get a location lock on the call. It appeared to have been initiated outside of the Chesarn Nebula. But as the report states, this was most likely an erroneous finding. No other data found.
Case forwarded with all related data, to the Agents of ACTS on sector date 8081-221 GTP.

Moment of Clara Tee – Weekly Render
Mission Log:
This following information was pulled from the Confederation data archive.
The following render is a satellite image taken over the ice planet, D34 Minor on sector date 8076-533 GTP. Although D34 Minor is considered to be uninhabitable, it has been colonized by two species and is regarded as an outer-rim way-station. The planet is currently under the rule of Queen Deceptra and her Legion.
A Confederation CX5 Drone took the following image during an in-atmosphere pass of the planet.
This image was extracted from the one holo-image that was clear enough to analyze. A note was made that there appeared to be an interaction between two beings. The first is dressed in an engineer’s uniform, and the other is wearing a low-ranking security uniform. The security uniform appears to match that of a Legion security guard.
Recently, a Legion frigate was captured in the outer rim, not too far from CX5. Intel retrieved from the frigate indicates that on sector date 8076-533, an engineer defected from a Legion ship during a supply drop over CX5. The engineer, identified as Clara Tee, is accused of unlawfully commandeering a maintenance vessel and harming a member of the Legion’s security force. The date roughly corresponds with the attack on the Triani homeworld by Commander DuVeaux of Deceptra’s Legion. Perhaps in a moment of clarity, she did not agree with Deceptra’s act of genocide against the Triani people.
Because the two dates aligned, the satellite image was pulled from the archive, and additional information was extrapolated from the holo-image. The new renders confirm that the person of the platform is Chief Engineer Clara Tee, whereabouts unknown.
Based on the render, we assume that Clara Tee escaped the planet using the Motha 673 spacecraft shown. The craft appears to be in pre-flight and may indicate that there was an additional being present. The following renders and all information about Clara Tee have been forwarded to the Agents of ACTS for review. Confederation command would like ACTS to recover Clara Tee and debrief her.

Essmay’s Story – Weekly Render
Mission Log:
The following statement was recorded and played before the Chesarn Nebula Galactic Tribunal on Sector Date: 8081-326 GTP. The witness has been verified to be an acquaintance of the being known as Essmay Ra, an inhabitant of Kamarat Three. The name of the acquaintance has been redacted for security reasons. The transcription reads as follows:
I grew up with Essmay. She was kind, thoughtful, loving. She’d go out of her way to help someone. Even if it meant putting herself behind. I remember one time, when we were in school, years ago, when Essmay didn’t eat lunch for a week. When I found out she wasn’t eating, I said girl, what are you doing? Turns out, she was giving her credits to a local homeless family every morning. She said it wasn’t much, but they needed it more than she did. The next week, we both gave them money. After a while, the family was back on their feet, but not before Essmay had somehow infected us all. Her charity and kind-hearted caring for others had caused a group of us to raise money for the family and get them back into their home. To be honest, most of us passed that family every day on our way to and from school, but only Essmay saw them. So, I guess what I’m saying is, Essmay wasn’t just kind, thoughtful, and loving. She made you more kind, thoughtful, and loving.
The following question was asked by the prosecutor: Was Essmay well-liked?
Testimony continues as follows:
If you knew Essmay, you liked Essmay. By that, I mean, if you took the time to know her. She was different from us, and she was the same as us. Her skin wasn’t like ours. Her eyes and ears were not like ours. So, we were different in several physical ways. But we were so much more the same. We all laugh, we love, we run, we play, we wear similar clothes, we love to shop. Still, we cry, we hurt, we feel.
Yes, there were many who did not like Essmay, simply because she was Talarian, a race of beings that our people, the Kamarians, once enslaved. Some Karmarians think themselves superior to the Talarian. Some still see Talarian’s as slaves. Some believe that the Talarians should be grateful that they were released from slavery, and still there are others who think that because the Talarians were released over two hundred galactic cycles ago, the cruelty of our race should have been long forgotten by now. And, of course, some do not understand the nature of being in the minority, as they have been a part of the majority all of their lives. And although I have no right to judge anyone, I can not help that my heart goes out to Essmay for the injustices and oppression that I saw placed upon her.
It hurt her. She didn’t really talk about it, but I knew that it hurt her. People would look at her and instantly judge her without a word being spoken. Once, as we left a convenience store on our way to a holo-concert, a person in the vehicle parked next to us, looked at Essmay, and as if Essmay was some kind of threat to her, she screamed out ‘activate locks.’ Or the time when the two of us were at the mall trying on clothes. They stopped Essmay and looked in her bags to see if she had stolen anything, never looking at mine. Or the countless number of racial slurs, even once when she was just helping a Karmarian who had dropped their identification card. And I still don’t know what the school’s security guard did to her the year we graduated. [Witness paused] She would never tell me. But she shook with fear every time he came near us. [Witness wiped tears from her eyes]
I can’t imagine what Essmay went through or what other Talarian’s have gone through. I can not fully fathom their heritage or their brutal history. Taken from their homeworld, forced to work in our fields and our mines. Beaten, locked up, and killed because of the color of their eyes, the shade of their skin, and the shape of their ears. Still, I know that we, as Karmarians, sometimes think that those trials are in the past and that our world is not that way anymore. But the truth is easy to see if you open your eyes to it. That level of oppression hasn’t faded away yet.
Still, even with all of the hurt piled up on her. Even with all of the pain she endured. To look at her or to have a conversation with her, you wouldn’t even have known it. She didn’t care if you were Talarian or Kamarian, she would treat you with respect. Talarian or Kamarian, she would give you her credits and inspire others to do the same. Talarian or Kamarian, she would pray for you regardless of how you treated her. God first, she would say. God first, then your family, then others, then yourself. It was something she would often say.
I don’t know if you saw it, but I just happened to see the interview, a few nights ago, with the spouse of the man accused of killing Essmay. As they interviewed her in their home, the camera happened to be framed so that a painting could be seen on the wall behind the spouse. It said: God first, then family, then others, then yourself. The irony here is that if that particular Karmarian had just taken that saying to heart, instead of just placing it on the wall, then he would have placed a Talarian before himself, and Essmay would still be alive today.

Win Win, Raysha Squad – Weekly Render
[image error]
In these three renders, we see Tactical Commander Winwin leading an assault on Niatt 3, a lesser colony in the Niatt sector of the Chesarn Nebula. We are unclear about the reason for the attack by Deceptra’s Legion. The planet does not seem to have a strategic advantage that we are aware of.
The first render is an extrapolated, side view of Winwin showing a device on her back, a mechanical or artificial-looking spine. The augmentation could be used as an interface with her M27 mech robot, identified behind her. When sitting in the command seat, her thoughts alone would allow her to control the massive machine.
Winwin is a member of Queen Deceptra’s Raysha Squad. An elite squad made up of warriors from the races under the dominion of Queen Deceptra. We have confirmed that Winwin is from a planet named Genovuss. The people of Genovuss are born without sight and live blind throughout their youth. But don’t feel sorry for her. Their blindness causes them to nurture their other senses to the point of mastery. Then, as they enter into adulthood, their sclera turns black, and their corneas change color. After this event takes place, they can see in multiple spectrums, a beneficial talent when sizing up an enemy. Winwin’s people are hard to kill as their bodies are filled with redundant systems such as two hearts. Finally, while most inhabitants of Genovuss have very long hair. Our intel on Winwin states that she cut her hair to show her allegiance to her master, Queen Deceptra. This act alone was the reason for her promotion to Tactical Commander.
The second and third renders show additional details. They show the environment during the assault on Niatt 3. The battle took place in a valley surrounded by hills. From these renders, we can see that Winwin is armed with a blade as well as a holstered weapon. She is wearing a standard suit of armor worn by Raysha Squad commanders. The form-fitting armor is lightweight, reinforced with a flexible alloy, and can absorb and disperse most of the energy from an energy-based handgun.
In the third render, we also see that Winwin’s mech seems to be damaged. Perhaps this is the reason she is outside of the machine. Having jumped from the cockpit to the ground, Winwin is beckoning her foes to come to their doom. And in the hours that followed, without her mech, Winwin led Deceptra’s Legion to an overwhelming victory.
Winwin is rarely mentioned in our mission reports, but her short story is worth being seen in these renders. Take note, she is formidable. I think we will all agree that this briefing should be forwarded to the Agents of ACTS.

The Tale of the Narravin – Weekly Render
ACTION REPORT
Ship’s Registry: C4
Make: Selvian Transport Vessel
Transponder Code: 52c4a30b-f9c9-41c8-a5f6-38425d7a5138
Origin: Colony 4-M35, Outer Rim, Chesarn Nebula
Status: Missing
Last Reported: Nearly 13 GTP Cycles ago, (Galactic Time Pulse)
Cargo: Classified
[image error]
The scenes rendered here capture the Agents of ACTS as they arrive on the moon, Acavous Two. Almost four hours earlier, a deep space relay station, controlled by Deceptra’s Legion, identified a pulse. The pulse contained a fragmented message which included a transponder code identical to a Selvian Transport Vessel that was believed lost nearly 13 cycles ago. The message was cataloged and forwarded to the Central Command logistics center via a network of deep space relay stations and satellites. It would likely take the Legion’s Central Command several hours to decode the high volume of data coming in. They likely would not realize the importance of the message until then.
Fortunately for the Confederation, one of the satellites, still connected to the Legion’s network, was formerly the property of a race known as the Triani. A race thought to be extinct. Reports confirm that they were brutally exterminated by a Legion commander named DuVeaux, now referred to as the Death Commander. Still, the Death Commander was not completely successful in his efforts to eradicate the Triani. A single survivor named Treyah was discovered not too long ago, by the Agents of ACTS. And since his discovery, the Confederation and the Agents of ACTS have been monitoring communications traffic from the Legion.
Upon retrieving the origin of the signal’s location, General Pslyte, commander of the Confederation forces, asked the Agents of ACTS to retrieve the Narravin’s precious classified cargo. Immediately, Mira, Lee, Ommah, and Quatre geared up and stepped through light portals and onto Acavous Two. Shortly after, they pinpointed the location of the Narravin and began to investigate.
In these renders, from above, you can see the Narravin, still active, hovering above the water, and nested in a narrow cave structure. The agents wondered if the ship had been active all these cycles or if someone had recently activated the systems.
Lee, located at the front of the ship, investigates the outer hull to determine if the ship can sustain space flight. There were battle scars all over the ship’s hull. To him, it looked as if the ship’s shields did their job, but they were undoubtedly outgunned. Still, he hadn’t seen anything that would indicate that the hull’s integrity had been compromised.
Mira, located near the rear of the ship, investigates a very odd anomaly with the port-side-aft wing. It appears to be inside of the rock face. As if the rock-face had grown around it or, the ship had somehow materialized here. This anomaly can be witnessed from the render of the front of the vessel.
From the front, you can also see Quatre in the water off the starboard side of the craft. Above him, on a wing, you can find Ommah. From the bottom renders, you can see that Quatre has one of his weapons drawn and is investigating something that has shown up on his helmet’s scanners. He has sighted a cave, and he is sure that they are not alone. Something large is in the cave. Before he and Ommah have a chance to investigate, the four receive a communication from base. Queen Deceptra’s Raysha Squad has been ordered to Acavous Two.

Iris the Hunter – Weekly Render
This weeks “Weekly Render” is Iris the Hunter!
[image error]Iris the Hunter – Created and Rendered by Jarrod L. Edge
Title: Iris the Hunter
Book Series: 0-2-10
Scene Story:
In this render, we see Iris, an outer rim hunter with a straight forward mission. Get her people back!
Her story takes place in the Chesarn Nebula (located in the Andromeda Galaxy), where a large portion of the 0-2-10 Series is based, those portions that are not located on Earth. Iris’s people were forced into servitude by Queen Deceptra and her Legion. Deceptra is part of the Unholy Trinity and the daughter of all that is evil.
Although she doesn’t look it, Iris is several hundred years old. She was once the protector of the Tollarian people until they turned on her and trapped her in a cryo-stasis chamber on Tollarus Three. Eventually, she was forgotten by her people and remained in a tomb for hundreds of years. Upon conquering the Tollarus system, Queen Deceptra became aware of the legend of Iris The Protector. Deceptra sent a team of archeologists, along with a battalion of Legion troops, to search for a device rumored to be used by Iris, the Sabuk Cahaya. A belt of light thought to have been formerly owned by the warrior named Yakhan. The Sabuk Cahaya allowed its bearer access to an intricate arsenal of weapons. With you at all times, and unseen by all others. This could essentially allow the wearer of the belt to walk through any security check in the universe, all while bringing along a weapons cache larger than that of most armies.
Eventually, the team of archeologists found the cryo-stasis chamber. The lead archeologist, Jamus Forat, a Bruaquatti scientist and slave to Queen Deceptra, attempted to free Iris from eternal sleep. However, he was caught, turned in to the Legion Commander, and was subsequently executed. Before his capture, Jamus was able to send an encrypted message to the Psyclarion homeworld and the Confederation forces. The Confederation is a collective of worlds aligned to halt the advance of Queen Deceptra and her Legion.
At the time, all Confederation ships were otherwise occupied. Besides, Tollarus Three was deep in a territory heavily occupied by Deceptra’s forces. So, instead, they commissioned a smaller team. The Agents of ACTS were given the task of freeing Iris, which they did with ease. That story is told by many in the sectors surrounding Tollarus Three. How a team of five heroes, the number changes based on who is telling the story, took out three of the Legion’s midsized cruisers in orbit of Tollarus Three. How they freed the Tollarus legend, Iris the Protector.
It took approximately a year (a galactic cycle based on the GTP) for Iris to fully recover from her time in stasis. During that time, she trained side-by-side with the Agents of ACTS and a secret squad that she once heard referred to as “The Ten.” She didn’t quite know what that meant, but she recognized that the team was skilled. Near the end of her stay, Iris participated in a few ACTS missions with a young lady approximately her age. Long ago, she had heard tales of the ones they called the War Commanders, Commander Shyah being one of the two. The sisters, Shyah and Armas, were over seven hundred years old and, for a time, served the evil being known as the Destroyer, brother of Queen Deceptra. But the galaxy had certainly changed while Iris was asleep. The War Commanders no longer served evil. In fact, the Destroyer had not been seen for some time. Something to do with a battle between light and dark, with someone they refer to as the Chosen One.
Although Iris still crosses paths, from time to time, with members of the Agents of ACTS, she came to realize that their battle, although similar to hers, was not her battle. She understood that the Lord of All had not brought her back to life to fight beside ACTS. Not in this season of her life. Her mission had always been to protect her people. To free them from their bonds. To regain her home for her people. So, although her people turned on her in the past, she would not abandon them now. She loved them. She was dedicated to them. They were part of her and would always be so.
In this render, we see Iris just after activating the Sabuk Cahaya, reaching into a void, and pulling out two twin katana swords. These were gifts from a member of the Agent of ACTS named Mira. Now returned to Tollarus Three, Iris finds a processing center in the capital city of Junia and confronts the Legion soldiers stationed there. It is here that she starts her battle to free her people. Now she is Iris The Hunter.

BOOK REVIEWReviewed by K.J. Simmill for Readers’ Favorite
In Jarrod L Edge’s Zeta 6, an origin story, the discarded 6-3-9 carbon alloy plated cyborg remembered nothing. It ran, unaware of how it knew which path to take, or how it knew the things it did. The most essential things, those seeming most important were those it didn’t know, such as who it was, where it was, and how it came to be here. The confusion lasted long enough to escape, but with the return of its memories came another harrowing realization; it wasn’t where it should be, who it should be. But what led to this and how was it even possible? Only through reliving the past can the truth be uncovered and the future unfold.
In Jarrod L Edge’s Zeta 6, the reader is drawn into the world of science fiction with a bang. The engaging third-person narrative switches effortlessly through timelines, allowing the reader to gain an understanding of the situation surrounding Aliana, and how things unfolded as they did. A tale of youthful enthusiasm gone awry, a life filled with promise destroyed. Action, chaos, mystery, and manipulation fuel this origin story and engage the reader in such a way that it is impossible not to be intrigued. The reader wants to learn more about this character and what the future has in store for one who could have changed the lives of so many. While only a short tale, there is a real atmosphere, tension, and, as expected from an origin tale, character building and development. The addition of artwork adds a little more flair to the tale, giving readers a brief glimpse through the author’s eyes. Engaging, entertaining, and most importantly fun, this short read will certainly leave readers wanting more.
