Great Writing - Great Characters!
Great Writing - Great Characters!

I
was absolutely surprised by this book! I knew it had some enigmatic
mystery and some dark action, but the author set up the story so well I
was happily amazed. It starts with a very engaging character, a young
woman who is very well portrayed in a community, Oasis, Florida. The
town’s mysteries are maze-like and become deeper and more sinister as
the book progresses. This is a very original approach to the concept of
vampires and their existence. It’s a well-written mystery and horror
story.

LIGHTNING STRIKES
In deep and soothing sleep,
I did not hear one peep.
Then lightning lit the sky
with thunder turned high.
Winds uprooted the trees,
bringing them to their knees.
What has happened to the town?
The waves have turned a dark brown.
Shadows creep from the shore.
I can’t handle much more.

A bit of fluttering
that tickles your fingers.
Antennas search for sound,
And wings seek flight.
It leaves too soon
on the puff of a breeze.
For one precious moment,
you held life in your hand.

Pink flowers to fill my day.
Petals falling in the soft flight.
Ready to come out and play.
A soothing and beautiful sight.
A shady path for soft dreams.
To the hot days and warmer nights.
Pink filling the lakes and streams.
A toast to spring’s colorful lights.

TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE
Palm trees waving in the breeze.
Blue-green water for me, please.
White sand sparkles in the sun.
Tourists frolic and have fun.
A perfect oasis for the elite.
Many celebrities you might meet.
The night brings icy winds
and demons’ deadly sins.
Dark shadows descend on the town.
My life has turned upside down.

The storm’s coming.
Hitting the shore.
Palm trees flying.
And so much more.
Anger raises the waves.
Passion raises the sand.
Fear hides behind clouds.
Marching forth like a band.
I know he is here.
I hide from his face.
He’s coming for me.
Clouds quicken the pace.
His anger brings passion and fear.
Too bad he can’t fly like a dove.
He can easily move mountains.
For me, he moves the sky above.
