The Weight of Mountains - WSFA Finalist

The Washington Science Fiction Association recently announced the finalists for their WSFA Small Press Award. I am honored to say that my short story, The Weight of Mountains, published last year in DreamForge, issue #2, has been named as one of the finalists. I'm pleased to be sharing a spot in such a strong field of  stories. The winner will be announced at Capclave--the WSFA (Washington, DC) convention--held virtually this year, on Oct 17th &18th.

My publisher made the graphic below from the amazing artwork the story received, and has made the story free to read as the featured story at the DreamForge website. https://bit.ly/weight-of-mountains  Picture

Stay in Place Virtual Writing Conference

Picture Are you a writer as well as a reader?
Conventions and writer's conferences are being canceled around the world due to the coronavirus pandemic, but, while we may be isolated, we're not alone. I recently received an invitation to speak at WordCrafter's Stay in Place Virtual Writing Conference on April 28th. I'll be presenting a talk on writing short fiction as one of eighteen authors teaching writing craft and tips. Other presenters will include David Farland, Jonathan Mayberry, and keynote speaker, Kevin J. Anderson. Free presentations will take place on a Facebook event page, and interactive workshops and panel discussions will be offered for a minimal fee on the Zoom platform. Interested? Reserve a spot today at the FB event page:   https://www.facebook.com/events/610730112815902/
and you can view the full list of presenters on WordCrafter's blog:
