New Blogspot with some Giveaways

Hi Everyone!

Today I’m writing to you from Cusco in Peru where I’m holidaying with my husband and three children. My husband and I were here 22 years ago but also visited Bolivia and Argentina that trip over a four week holiday. This time we’re just in Peru, so we started out covering some new ground from Lima to Arequipa and in the last couple of days we had the pleasure of introducing our kids to the Lake Titicaca area, Cusco and Machu Picchu. Next, we’re off to the Amazon. If you are interested you can see some of my posts on Facebook.

Now, the news is that I started up a guest author blog a few weeks ago where I do a quick quizzing of some of my favourite authors. The idea was born because people asked me who my favourite romance authors are, so this is a way to introduce my readers to them!

From time to time there’ll be giveaways of autographed books. Currently there’s a contest for an autographed book from Kandy Shepherd, and this Saturday, regency author, Grace Burrowes is donating titles to three lucky winners. Both contests are available to readers from anywhere in the world and all you need to do to enter is leave a comment on the blog.

https://alyssajmontgomeryguestauthor....

You’ll also find direct links from my webpage: http://www.alyssajmontgomery.com
And from the Facebook page on Wednesdays and Saturdays when a guest author drops by to answer the quick quizzing. I hope you’ll check it out, subscribe, and discover some great authors along the way.

I’ll be out of internet reach from Saturday until mid next week, but hope to find your comments on the Guest author blogs when I emerge from the Amazon jungle!

Best wishes,
Alyssa

A tribute to RT

Hi everyone!

Tomorrow I'll have been home for two weeks from Reno and I'm only just starting to feel as though I'm catching up to everything again over my ten day absence.

RT Reno was fabulous. I was really sad to hear that is was the last RT Convention and that RT closed down at the end of May. Kathryn Falk was a lady of vision when she started her romance newsletter from a room in her home. What an organisation she built, and the legacy she's left us with is not only how she helped the careers of so many romance writers, but how she brought romance readers and authors together, gained the support of all the publishing houses and really gave us a forum to celebrate romance novels!

I'm thrilled to know that the JoCarol Jones, the lady who has been doing the RT Convention organisation, has now planned a book lovers convention to take place in New Orleans in May of 2019. I hope to be there in support of this new convention. I think what Kathryn Falk and her team achieved is too important to let slide so I'm very thankful Jocarol is going to keep the tradition of the romance conventions alive.

In summary of Reno, my personal highlight is always catching up with people I've met at previous RT conventions and Reno was no different. Romance readers are warm, friendly people and it's great to be amongst them and to be one of them!

I have to say a huge thank you to my publisher, Escape Publishing (Harlequin Enterprises Australia) and to the organisers of the Make A Date with Harlequin. When I arrived at the signing event, it was to find that a stack of my eBooks had been printed as giveaways at the signing. That was a thrilling event for me!

There were opportunities to meet my readers again at the Giant Book Fair, where I signed and sold copies of my medieval romances (published as Alyssa James), and then at the Fantastic Fun Day Saturday evening event. It was definitely worth taking all my swag from Australia (including some promo items from two fellow Aussie authors Cassandra Samuels and Marilyn Forsyth) as everything was snapped up!

The social events were a little more special for me than normal as I organised myself to go in fancy dress costume this year! Yes, I packed everything in and dressed as a hippie chick for the Peace, Love and Romance night; and as a biker chick for the Bikers and Bad-ass night. You can check out the photos on my facebook page!

Well, back to doing some writing sprints in the next couple of weeks before I jet off across the Pacific once again, this time on a family holiday. More about that next post!

Happy reading!
Best wishes,
Alyssa x

Romance Novels Are Good For You!

Hi everyone!

As romance readers, you are more than likely to have encountered those who rubbish the genre we love. Today on the Breathless in the Bush blog, I look into how romance novels are good for you. I only had 500 words to play with, so have by no means exhausted the list. Perhaps you can add some other ways in which romance novels are good for us? I'd love you to come visit the site and add your comments.

https://breathlessinthebush.blogspot....

The link is also up on my facebook page.

On a very quick note, The Irresistible Royal is now up on Net Galley for review, if you are a reviewer listed on Net Galley. I believe the official release date is 12th of May.

Take care and Happy Reading!
Best wishes,
Alyssa

Happy 2018!

Very best wishes to all for health, happiness, good fortune and lots of opportunities to enjoy reading!

This year's New Year's Eve was vastly different from last. We had a house full of friends partying until the early hours last year. This year we have family staying from interstate but I snatched 1.5 hours sleep between 11:30pm and 1:00am before it was up and off to the international airport to take our elder daughter to her flight to Europe. She'll be staying with relatives in Holland for almost a week before flying to Geneva and taking up a golden opportunity to experience the real world of international human rights prior to commencing her university degree in international studies. I'll miss her dreadfully during her month away but am thrilled she will have such amazing opportunities to broaden her knowledge and understanding.

Happy New Year!
Best wishes,
Alyssa x

The Formidable King Release Day!

Hi everyone!

I've been looking forward to this release day of The Formidable King as the characters and their story totally absorbed me while I was writing it and I felt as though I was merely the characters scribe rather than the author. I've explained a little of the background on the Australian Romance Readers Association website (link below)
https://australianromancereaders.word...

And, you can find all the various major buy links through the Escape publishing page:
http://www.escapepublishing.com.au/pr...

Would love to have your feedback on this one. I do hope you enjoy it.
Best wishes,
Alyssa x

Sale! Sale!

A quick hi to all!

Google are still running a deal on "The Defiant Princess" which is for $1.99 until 14th of September. I understand that Amazon and Kobo have price matched this. "The Defiant Princess" is book one of the Royal Affairs collection, so if you'd like to read that 'series' you might like to take advantage of the deal.

For readers in North America, Bookbub are running a $1.99 special deal on "The Billionaire Meets His Match" until the 11th of September. This is the bundle of my first three stories: "Mistaken Identity"; "Echoes of the Heart"; and "Roses for Sophie".

Happy reading!
