A Dom's Decision, Athol's Story by Raven McAllan
Good Morning! It's Monday and there is a fresh layer of snow on the ground where I live. That basically sums up where this day is going! But I just so happen to have a guest that will help brighten and warm the day, no matter how cold or dreary it looks. Raven McAllan stopped in today to share her new release A Dom's Decision, Althol's Story. He is one character that was determined to be heard!!
A Dom's Decision, Athol's Story
Thank you so much for letting me pop over with my latest release, A Dom's Decision.
When is a Dom not a Dom? When it stops him from being with the man he loves…
Athol Donaldson lost many people in his life, his lover, his family, his twin. The latter loss seems hardly worth morning over. Affric caused nothing but trouble when alive, and now, he seems intent on causing trouble from beyond the grave.
It forces Athol to seek out the one man he's never forgotten.
Eden Murdoch has no intention of letting Athol slip through his fingers again. He's lost him once, and as they're forced to pull together to unravel the mystery surrounding the parentage of a teenage girl, their love for each other blossoms.
Surely, being Doms doesn't mean they can't compromise? Will they be able to work out their differences, and find lasting happiness, or will this blast from the past prove to be their final undoing?
That's the premise of A Dom's Decision, also known as Athol's Story and book two in the Dommisimma Series. Well okay The Girl on Bus mentions Dommisimma, but it's not really a proper part of the series. This is.
It's one of those things, when a secondary character in a book shouts at you, Waves a flag and says, hey, I'm here and boy do I have a story to tell you.
Athol was like that, when he pops up in Master. (Also from Evernight Publishing) I'm sure he didn't mean to, but he stole nearly every scene he was in. And people asked me, 'When can we have Athol's story?'.
Well Athol has very definite ideas about what I should write. I started, he went shtum on me so I got stuck. So I put the story to one side and worked on other stuff. You see I'm very character driven, and he didn't like the way the story was going, so stopped talking to me.
Then one day several months later, I woke up with him shouting in my head, and wrote the next 25k in just over a week. He spoke I listened…I wrote, he approved. Thus A Dom's Decision, Athol's Story was finished.
Well it wasn't that easy but you get the gist…
Anyway, here's a wee tease from Athol's Story…
Warning Adult Content
Athol couldn't believe the rush of adrenalin that coursed through him. Every nerve end tingled. To know they just might be getting somewhere was so exhilarating, that one swipe of Edan's tongue anywhere on his body would make him come. Slight exaggeration, but not much. He swallowed and cleared his throat.
"Well we could do, but then seeing as I came up with the idea, do you want to go first?"
"Fuck first—talk later?" Edan smiled. "Sounds good. So strip. Stretch out on the bed and let's explore again."
That was jumping in with a vengeance. Was revisiting your first lover like riding a bicycle? Once done never forgotten? He'd soon find out.
Athol decided it felt strange to have Edan watching him as he undid his zipper and stroked it carefully down the sensitive skin of his prick. Edan's gaze was so intense, Athol's hands shook, as he held the metal away from his body. Foreskin in zip teeth wasn't a good omen.
"You going to reciprocate?" Athol asked as he inched his jeans and boxers over his cock. The head glistened with pre cum, and Edan's indrawn breath, told him more than words that the sight excited both of them.
"Who's the, ah fuck it, lets just both ask and receive, eh?" Edan toed off his shoes and undid his belt buckle in a hurry. "Last one naked loses the next decision."
Athol laughed as his shoes caught in his jeans as he tried to remove the clothes and not the footwear. It wasn’t possible, so with a quick check of where Edan stood, he grinned and pushed Edan. Edan whooped and fell onto the bed with his denims around his ankles. He waved his legs in the air.
"Cheat."
"Yeah." Athol jumped and landed on the bed next to Edan. He rolled over and grabbed Edan to hold him close, and thrust his tongue in between Edan's parted lips.
This kiss was different. As Edan's male, musky, scent surrounded him Athol knew tears were close. He'd missed this man as if a limb had been severed. His man his other half, was finally here with him.
But for how long? Athol pushed the thought away and concentrated on using his tongue to touch the inside of Edan's lips, and then stroke over the roof of Edan's mouth.
Edan responded in an equally aggressive manner. His teeth grazed Athol's tongue and his lips sucked the flesh. Athol scrabbled for the waistband of Edan's half removed denims and shoved for all his worth, to get them away from Edan's body. In the back of his mind, he noticed Edan performed the same act with his, Athol's, jeans. How they managed without unlocking their lips Athol had no idea, and didn't care. All he desired was Edan naked and next to him.
Edan moved back, and the tiny few inches felt like the Grand Canyon with a force-eight gale to Athol.
"Shit, Ede, I need to feel you somehow. Make your mind up, for fuck's sake. What's going to happen next?" With a tremendous effort, Athol managed to shuck his shoes and jeans, thankful for the urge he'd had to go commando that morning.
"Bratty Dom." Edan gasped the words as his fingers fumbled with the hem of Athol's T-shirt. "Fuck, what's this stuck on?" He held Athol's T-shirt away from his torso.
"Hold on." Athol inched the material up and over his nipples. Edan's moan sent his cock into overdrive and his heart thudding. "Ah, you like?"
"Oh, I like." Edan ran his finger over the silver ring through Athol's right nipple. "How long have you had this?" He dipped his head and Athol about exploded as Edan circled the ring with his tongue and then tugged gently on it.
"Sh … er god, three, four, ah fuck, enough already. Let's do more. Condoms?"
"Con … Fuck, shit, and bollocks." Edan rolled onto his back and groaned. His dick stood up long, hard and slicked with his pre-cum. "No, I've been celibate for so long they'd have shriveled up. You?"
Athol echoed the groan, and laughed softly. What he really wanted to do was cry and rail. Talk about serendipity—not. Was this his punishment for what happened all those years ago? Why on earth would he have thought he'd need rubbers? He'd been more concerned he might need a box to protect himself from a kick or a punch. "Don't talk daft. I'd forgotten what one looks like. Shit. Ah, well. Sixty-nine always was my favorite number. We're clean, and I trust you."
"And back." Edan shuffled round until his head nestled so close to Athol's cock Athol could feel his breath as it fanned over his heated skin. Athol grabbed Edan's ass and pulled him closer so he could put his lips on Edan's prick and give tiny little kisses along the length until he laved the head. With a mental sigh of pleasure, Athol pulled Edan's cock into his mouth and swirled his tongue over it. He enjoyed the salty taste, inhaled the musky male scent, and reveled in the moans and sighs Edan made.
A tug on his own cock sent his heat beat racing, and his skin pricked with arousal. He closed his eyes to let himself sink deeper into those beautiful sensations. It was nigh on impossible to groan with pleasure with a mouth full of wet cock, but Athol knew his shudder of pleasure reverberated into Edan. He nuzzled his head further into Edan's groin and grasped his ass even tighter. Edan reciprocated and together they began the nips and sucks of loving each other.
It wouldn't last long. He wouldn't last long. Athol had no illusions that he wouldn't be able to stave his climax off. Nor did he want to. The climbing emotion, the increasing heat, the shuddering, juddering emotions, and taut skin, embraced him, and he let them flow through him.

A multi-published author of erotic romance, Raven lives in Scotland, along with her husband and their two cats—their children having flown the nest—surrounded by beautiful scenery, which inspires a lot of the settings in her books.
She is used to sharing her life with the occasional deer, red squirrel, and lost tourist, to say nothing of the scourge of Scotland—the midge. As once she is writing she is oblivious to everything else, her lovely long-suffering husband is learning to love the dust bunnies, work the Aga, and be on stand-by with a glass of wine.

In a world ravaged by the plague women have become a new form of currency. Bartered, traded, and abused they suffer under tyranny. One woman dared to be different.
Devon Brown spent the past eight years operating under the guise of being a male. The daughter of a Forest Ranger, she peddled her skills as she moves from town to town. This time her luck runs out when she’s discovered, and brought in to the leaders of the town, Cain and Cole Hart. Instead of being ejected, the attractive males, with the dangerous aura opt to keep her.
This is her story of what happened after the world burned.
From the Ashes Excerpt
Devon Brown walked the perimeter of the dust laden gas station with broken windows and a sagging red awning. On the outskirts of town, the gray building went unnoticed by most in the town. Traffic this far away from the revived area they lived and worked in remained scarce, and she took making her way here every time. Three months into this new place, she fit in well. She didn’t want to upset the balance she’d found. Her eyes scanned the barren landscape. The chilly air carried the promise of winter. Frost formed in the mornings. It wouldn’t be long before they saw their first snow and this treks would become more difficult.
Her mind shifted to her new housemate, David. Due to his presence she hadn’t risked a full bath in a week. Hiding her secret got tricky with the young boy with hero worship dogging her every step. Privacy disappeared in this new society where the main goal was to live. Still, she enjoyed the jovial brunette. In his early twenties, he’d adjusted to life after the plague ten years prior a lot easier than those who’d had a lifetime of normalcy. His optimistic countenance presented a pleasant change from the doom and gloom, survival of the fittest jungle the world had become.
As on only child she’d lost her entire family when her folks fell victim to the mysterious strain of flu that crept into the population and never left. The supped up version of the Influenza took millions to their graves, and tossed the world into chaos. Raised on the good book, she’d thought it’d been the end of days. If only I’d been so lucky.
Satisfied the integrity of the place held, she walked over to the bathroom door. The door creaked from disuse and she stepped inside, swiftly shutting the door behind her. A huge sigh of relief escaped her lungs, and she locked the door. For a short time, the burden of pretending to be something she wasn’t lifted off her drooping shoulders. The daughter of a Forest Ranger she knew how to survive. So, when women became the new currency she’d lopped off her shoulder length black locks, lowered her voice and peddled her skills as Devon Brown, the man.
She removed her book bag off her shoulders, placed it on the ground, and pulled out her necessary items, placing them on the counter she’d personally cleansed weeks ago. Prepped, she shrugged out of her flannel and stripped down to her underwear, bra and bindings. When her Double D’s became a feature that could endanger her freedom she’d said goodbye to femininity. She unwrapped the ace bandage and sucked in a deep breath of freedom. The uncomfortable feeling of being held tight never fully dissipated. Clad in skivvies, she turned on the faucet full force and picked up a bar of homemade soap and washcloth.
She plunged her hand beneath the icy spray and built up a lather, flinching when she ran the soapy cloth over her torso. Her teeth chattered as she rinsed the material out and moved down her legs, saving her private area for last. Sure, a vagina didn’t shrink a penis, but the chill damn near burned. She pushed down the tighty whiteys she’d pilfered from the store, and ran the soft cloth across her center. The door swung open in mid swipe with a loud bang. Blinding light flooded the dimly light room.
Her jaw dropped and her mind short circuited, refusing to process properly. Micah filled the door frame with his broad shoulders. A villainous smirk spread across his thin lips. The lust visible in his dark blue eyes made her stomach lurch.
“I knew there was something off about you.”
She yanked up her underwear. He gave her a slow one over. Her skin crawled. The man rubbed her the wrong way. Rough, crude, and manipulative, Micah screamed untrustworthy.
“What are you going to do?” She covered her breasts and shifted her weight, taking an aggressive stance. If she had to go down, it’d be fighting.
“Honey you know what I’m going to do.” An evil sneer twisted his Cupid ’s bow lips into something evil. “But I’ll be kinder than most, and keep you for myself instead of sharing you around. Pussy is power, and yours is untapped.”
She balled her fists. “I have rights, and I’m an asset. Not like the others.”
He laughed. “Won’t matter, Now put your clothes on. Don’t want to get jumped for my new pieces of ass before I can take it out for a spin. We’re going to see the Harts.”
Her panic spiked. Cole and Cain ran the tiny town with an iron fist. After they accepted her into their fold, and placed her in charge of overseeing water purification, she did everything possible to gain their trust, and stay well under their radar. The chiseled faced, hard bodied brothers were straight shooters. They didn’t stand for deceit, cheating, or withholding. Ex bar owners with numerous run-ins with the law, the two possessed a dangerous edge that made her tread lightly. Her knees wobbled, and she leaned against the sink to stay upright. The cool porcelain grounded her. Brought her back to reality.
“I’d leave you to change, but I know how wily you are, and let’s face it. I’m enjoying the view. It’s been a long time since I saw a woman as good looking as you. No bruises, dead eyes, or sloppiness.” He licked his lips. “We’re going to have fun. I never had a chocolate cupcake before. Do you have a creamy center?” His boots thudded against the faded white tiles as he stalked over and paused a few inches away.
“You look so soft.” He trailed a finger down her face, and she jerked turning her face from his caress.
“Don’t touch me.” She barred her teeth.
“Time to get acclimated to it, sweetheart.” He moved his hand to grip her breast, and she smacked it away.
“Nothing’s been decided, and I swear to you. If you try to claim me, it’ll be the last thing you do.” I didn’t fight tooth and nail all this time to end up some sex toy to this sadistic fuck.
“It’s the new world order. Your opinions don’t matter for shit, sweetheart.”
“I live by my own set of rules.” She balled her hands into fists, drawing strength from her anger.
“Maybe when you were thought to be a man.”
“Always.” She narrowed her eyes.
“We’ll see.”
She huffed, and pulled on her clothing, head held high. After starring death in the face, she’d be damned if she fell to pieces over this spineless piece of maggot shit.

Conquering Theana
Good Morning and a very Happy Monday to everyone! I know, I know. It has been way too quiet here on the blog with nothing new and juicy for a while now. But I'm going to kick it up a bit today and hopefully help get your Monday started! How does a hot new shifter romance sound? Because not only did LeTeisha Newton stop in today to share her newest release that she co-authored with Lillian Mackenzie Rhine, she brought pictures of all the sexy, hot characters! Who doesn't like a good picture or two with their morning coffee?
So, for your reading and viewing pleasure check out Conquering Theana!! :-)
First, I’d like to thank you a bunch for having us here. Lillian and I tend to be pretty crazy, but we’ll try to tone it down a notch :D
Blurb
Conquering Theana is the first story of the Conquering Series surrounding the fictitious Seurri City in the center of real-world Texas. Theana, the daughter of the alpha of the Dolphus pack, ran from Seurri when her childhood friend, Camden, laid claim to her as his potential mate. She knew that giving in would only lead to heartache, and she has no interest in having an alpha rule her. But then she comes across Gregori, beta of the Ulric pack, leaders of Seurri City, and her wolf goes haywire. She can’t fight the attraction.
That was enough to deal with, until she met Rafael, the alpha of the Ulric pack, and leader of Seurri City. Suddenly she finds herself fighting attraction to two men who are determined to have her by any means necessary. They claim rights to pack cohesion, a move that would force her to spend a week among their pack, a move that she knows is nothing about Dolphus-Ulric relations but having her. At their mercy she’s forced to face their desires, and her own. The question that looms, will Rafael and Gregori be able to conquer Theana?
About the Authors
The Conquering Series, beginning with Conquering Theana now available from Evernight Publishing, started out as nothing more than a conversation. I met this amazing woman in a writer’s group and, though she doesn’t know this, I wanted to write her into one of my stories. She was charismatic, powerful, in-your-face, and yet sweet and kind. To many I’m known as the Shifter Queen because of my knowledge of their worlds and the random lore that I can explain to people around me. I’ve always loved them, and felt like I should have been one (I know, crazy, but there it is). And so, when I met Lillian, I saw her as an alpha female. She had all the qualities I wanted. So, when someone made a joke about us writing a book together because of our similar interests, and because of a short story we wrote together had the group going wild, I jumped at the chance.
Not even a few months later we had one book started, another three planned. Once we finished that one, we had about twelve more planned, and we realized that we didn’t just write a book, we made a world! Seurri City was born, and Lillian accepted having a character based on us (I’d say majority of her is in Theana, but don’t tell her that. She sees a lot of me in Theana for some reason).
Might as well tell you a little bit about our characters.
Characters
Theana
Born to the alpha of Dolphus pack, Walter, Theana has lived a life of care, love, and indulgence. But don’t let that fool you. She is a wolf and alpha bitch potential first. She works hard for everything she has, and has only wanted the love of a mate, sometime in her future, to complete her. When Camden, her childhood friend and alpha of the Convel pack, decided he wanted to be that mate with little care how she felt of how she saw things she ran from Seurri City to pursue a career in modeling.
Camden was content to let her come to term with their eventual mating until Rafael and Gregori, alpha and beta of the Ulric pack, came into the picture. Suddenly Theana has three men vying for her undying attention. Too bad she only wants two of them, and she’d fighting tooth and nail about that as it is.
Rafael
He is the alpha of Ulric and alpha of Seurri City.
Rafael is a powerful man with even more powerful emotions and passion. Though his pack sees him as a loving, doting father figure, they know that to displease him is to incur his wrath. He is an alpha through and through. He usually leads by example and training, but he is not above laying the smackdown on any wolf that challenges his authority, of that of his beta, Gregori. The two of them have a bond that very few even know of, a bloodbond that makes the more than best friends, but brothers. For Rafael, no one in the world means more to him than Gregori and Theana. No one.
Gregori
He is beta of Ulric and Seurri City.
Gregori, for all intents and purposes, is the strongest wolf in Seurri other than Rafael. He is confident, determined, and has a heart of gold. Test him, however, and the claws come out. He will risk his life for his alpha, at any time and any place. When he meets Theana is loyalty is then scewed from Ulrick and Rafael to simply Rafael and Theana. While he loves, and will always protect his pack, he would run through even them for his mates.

Trickster by Nicola Cameron
Today, Nicola Cameron stopped in to share with us her newest release Trickster! Even better, she didn't come alone! :-)
Thanks for letting me come on your blog today! Trickster is my first M/M shifter story, and was originally intended to be a short story submission for Evernight’s Alpha’s Claim: Manlove Edition anthology. Obviously that didn’t happen, which is good because this really needed to be a longer story. For more background on the plot, let’s turn to Mark Fellowes, the human half of this pairing.
Q: Mark, you’ve never been interested in men before, AND you had no idea that shifters existed. Your life literally changed in one day -- how did you feel about that?
A: Shocked out of my gourd, to be honest. When Delaney first tried to kiss me in the office, I have to admit that my initial reaction was anger, because up until that moment we’d been having a great conversation. I was so damn happy that he seemed to be a down-to-earth manager who knew when to trust his people (unlike some micromanaging dictators I’ve worked for). When he leaned over the desk for the kiss, I felt betrayed, like he’d been playing me just to get close.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t stop thinking about him for the rest of the day. Yeah, I was pissed off at him, but underneath that was something I’d never felt before. I didn’t understand until later that it was the mating instinct -- it’s like being OCD, but in a good way that ends up with orgasms. Luckily I’m not homophobic, otherwise it might’ve taken me a lot longer to get with the program. I still like women, but Delaney -- well, to paraphrase Tony Stark, he completes me.
As for Del being a shifter, well, he had to show me before I believed it. I’m still trying to get a handle on it all, but you know what? It’s also pretty damned cool. Remember, I’m a geek -- to me, having a boyfriend who can shapeshift is like living in a real-life superhero story.
BLURB:
Delaney Smith, coyote shifter and Trickster Technologies executive, thinks humans are bland, boring, and undateable. So he gets the shock of his life when he comes back from vacation and scents his mate in the Trickster offices — a mate who is not only male, but quite human.
Mark Fellowes is taken aback when the CTO at his new contract job makes a pass at him, and even more surprised at his temptation to respond. Straight and dating a career-minded businesswoman, he’s never even thought about kissing another man — until now.
When Mark is attacked by thieves trying to steal company files, Delaney must put aside his preconceptions to protect his mate. But will a criminal bent on destroying Trickster Tech separate them before he can stake his claim?

Delaney cleared his throat. Mark yelped and spun, bumping into the dresser next to the bed. The towel around his waist started to slip, and Delaney caught a glimpse of pale, muscled hip before he yanked the terrycloth back into place.
Panting, he glared at Delaney. “Jesus Christ, what is wrong with you?” he yelled. “Do you even know how to knock?”
“I did,” Delaney said, trying to sound innocent. “You didn’t answer so I got worried. Didn’t know you were in the shower until I came in here.” And you were coming in there.
Without his glasses, Mark’s resemblance to a furious faun was even more striking. “God. I do not need any more of this tonight,” he growled.
“This what?”
“You, sneaking around and following me everywhere.” He scowled at Delaney’s groin. “Especially with another fucking hard on.”
For some reason, that cheered the shifter. “You noticed, huh?”
“Helen Keller would have noticed it, all right? Does it ever go down?”
“Not since this morning. I can’t help it, babe. I smell you and I get wood.”
“Oh, Jesus.” Mark edged next to the bed, clutching both towels now and looking hunted. “Look, I’m tired. I just want to put on some pajamas and crash, all right? I’ve had a really bad, weird day, so how about we can talk about shapeshifters and," he waved vaguely between them, "that other thing in the morning.”
Delaney ignored the slap of disappointment and nodded. “Okay. We’ll talk later when you’re not tired.” Although you weren’t too tired to jerk off in the shower.
Mark’s cheeks blazed to life. “You listened to me?”
Oh, shit, he can hear my thoughts already? “I didn’t mean to, but coyotes have really good hearing,” Delaney said defensively. “At least you got off. My balls are aching so much I can barely walk straight.”
“So go to your own damn bathroom and rub one out there!”
“It’s not about getting off, dammit!” Delaney yelled back, before catching himself. “Okay, it’s not just about getting off. God, I really wish you were a shifter. Then you’d understand.”
“Well, I’m not a shifter,” Mark snapped, “so you’re just going to have to explain it to the stupid human.”
“I -- Jesus.” Delaney sucked in a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down and find the right words. “Being drawn to a mate, it isn’t just physical. It’s emotional and spiritual as well.” He gestured at his groin. “Yes, I want to fuck you. That’s pretty damn obvious. I also want to know you. I want to talk to you, find out everything about you—where you grew up, what your family’s like, whether you like sports, what your favorite food is, your opinion on Steven Moffat, what you want to do with the rest of your life, all that. And I want you to get to know me, too.”
BIO
Nicola Cameron is an expatriate Chicagoan who has lived in England, Canada, Holland, and Sweden, and keeps a confusing amalgamation of languages in her head as a result. Currently located in the clavicle of Texas, she has finally mastered the proper use of "y'all," much to her Chicago family's dismay.
Despite a healthy interest in sex since puberty, it wasn't until 2012 that Nicola decided to try writing about it. As it turned out, the skills she picked up during her SF writing career transferred rather nicely to erotic romance. When not writing, she wrangles cats, smooches her husband, makes dolls of dubious and questionable identity, and thanks almighty Cthulhu that she doesn’t have to work for a major telecommunications company any more (because there’s BDSM, and then there’s just plain torture...).

Enjoy the following excerpt for Stealing Cupid’s Bow:
From the corner of her eye, the back of a blond head, paired with broad, strong shoulders, caught her attention.
She knew who it was instantly.
Alexander was walking up ahead of them in the same direction. Her entire being zeroed in on him at once and she felt her pulse spike.
Jane was saying something to her, but all of her attention was tied up with trying to see his face. He’d moved off to the side now, and it looked as though he was watching someone intently. Actually, a couple of someones—a man and a woman. On the surface it looked like he was strolling along casually, but she could not mistake the intensity of his gaze on them. It seemed almost…predatory. Was he following them?
Both her mom and her aunt walked so slowly it was almost an agony for her. She didn’t want to lose sight of him. But there was nothing she could do. If she tried to make them hurry, it would spark questions from all three. And the most likely result of her telling them why would be her mother flagging Alexander down in a loud voice, which would be embarrassing.
Jane continued to chatter away, but Raine still couldn’t focus on her cousin.
Up ahead she saw that the man and woman had stopped next to a fountain. The man was saying something. From the look they shared, it seemed to be one of those special moments. Alexander stopped, too. He was leaning casually against a pillar watching the couple.
The man Alexander watched sank down on one knee while retrieving something from his pants pocket.
Alexander changed his stance at the same time. Out of nowhere a bow appeared in his hands. He quickly notched an arrow from the right side of the quiver on his back. He drew and took aim, gazing along the shaft of the arrow.
From what she could see there was only one target apparent in that direction: the woman.
As he released the arrow, a scream rose from within her, but the sound caught in her throat. The gleaming shaft streaked across the space and sunk deep into the woman’s chest, emitting a shower of golden sparks on impact. A second arrow struck the man as well and another cloud of gold erupted. She stopped walking and, since their arms were linked together, Jane did, too.
“Did you see that?” Raine asked.
Jane glanced at her. “See what?”
She pointed in the direction and her cousin peered up ahead.
“What is it, Raine?”
Her cousin wasn’t reacting at all and neither had either of their mothers. And none of the people that had passed right by the scene of the crime were disturbed. She looked again at the couple, afraid of what she might see…and blinked.
There was no blood. No body lay on the floor. No arrow shaft stuck out from either of them. Quite the opposite. The woman was unharmed and glowing with happiness. She had accepted the ring and the man was now swinging her around in joy.
“Did you mean the couple getting engaged?” Jane asked. “Oh yes, it happens all the time here.”
Raine was stunned. Her eyes found their way back to Alexander.

Blind Beauty by Elyzabeth M. Valey
Happy Monday! I have something special for you today! To help kick off your week, Elyzabeth M. Valey stopped in and brought with her Deidre and Mortimer from her newest release Blind Beauty! I love when characters stop in!! :-) Take it away, Elyzabeth!! Thank you for having me!
Hello everyone! I’m here today with two guests that play an important part in Blind Beauty: Deidre and Mortimer Brandywine. I tried to reach the protagonists, James and Richard, but both men seem to be occupied at more pleasurable activities and have not answered my notes.
Fortunately, Morti, who’s Richard’s step-brother and his lovely wife have offered to answer some questions regarding the men.
Welcome and thank you for doing this Deidre and Morti.
“You’re welcome.”
You both know Richard, as he’s your step-brother, Morti, but, please tell us, how did you meet James?
M: We found him wandering near our home during a snowstorm. He was going around in circles with his horse. Deidre noticed him first.
Deirde nods enthusiastically.
D: “Yes, it was impossible not to notice. The lad was wearing a great coat but there was something about him… exotic. Don’t you think Morti?”
The couple shares a knowing glance and Deidre’s cheeks flush profusely.
Ahem, so I take it you invited him inside and then what happened?
M: “That’s kind of private.”
D: “We warmed him up.”
Deidre bursts out laughing and I raise my eyebrows in question. Morti clears his throat loudly and shifts in his seat.
Why was he lost in the forest? I ask, quickly changing topics.
M: “Ah, he was on his way to his new home. He’s bought a house in the outskirts of the forest. He,” Morti pauses. “He had trouble with his family back home.”
What sort of trouble?
M: “Well, it seems he was called some things--”
“They called him ugly!” Deidre jumps in, gesticulating wildly. “Can you imagine? James Macintosh ugly?”
He’s not?
The couple glare at me.
D: “Of course, not. He’s the sweetest looking thing you’ll ever set eyes on. His hair is spun gold, his eyes blue as a midsummer sky, his lips plump and sweet as honey, and he’s hard in all the right places.” Deidre chuckles and winks.
M: “He’s definitely something special,” Morti agrees. “He’s very enthusiastic.”
The glimpse of a smile appears on Morti’s face, and he seems distant for an instant, as if remembering something pleasant.
You’re happy that he’s with your brother?
M: “Happy? We’re very happy. We’re so excited for them. Even if society frowns upon that sort of thing in this day and age, everyone should be free to love whomever they please.”
Deidre nods. I notice her squeeze her husband’s hand.
So, tell me about your brother, Richard, what’s he like?
D: “Oh, Richard is such a looker,” Deidre sighs dreamily. Catching her husband’s disapproving glare, she straightens her posture and gives me a nervous smile. “Of course, Morti is the handsomer of the two, but Richard is quite the looker. He’s a carpenter, you know? So he’s spent a lot of time cutting down trees and carving them and making beautiful things out of them.”
How about his character?
Morti frowns. “Richard has a nose for trouble. Always has, and well, the things he and James have had to go through just goes to show. Richard wouldn’t have ended with those thieves if he—“
D: “Morti, don’t start with that again.”
M: “All right, all right. Richard is a good man, a very good man. If he sees someone in need he’ll go out of his way to help, but sometimes, precisely because of this, he can be a bit naïve and get into a load of trouble.”
D: “It’s true. That thing in the village—“ Deidre drops her gaze. “At least, everything got sorted.”
M: “Yes, yes, it did.” Morti smiled at Deidre. “Do you need anything else, Elyzabeth?”
“No, that’ll be all. Thank you Morti and Deidre.”
M: “Thank you. I hope everyone enjoys learning James and Richard’s story. They deserve happiness.”
Blurb:
James Macintosh is hours away from his new home. He is ready to start a secluded life away from all the rumors, insults and disgusted faces concerning his appearance. However, a meeting with a mysterious woman and her child, mingled with a sudden harsh snowstorm will set him down a very different path than the one he had originally envisioned.
Richard Randywine is an accidental fugitive living with a band of rowdy thieves. A good man at heart, he has gotten used to hiding his emotions behind his strapping muscles and brute strength. Yet, when the thieves ambush an unsuspecting rider, Richard is forced to drop his mask and step forward.
Will both men be able to see what lies before them or will they be blind to the possibility of happiness?

Excerpt:
He climbed atop his horse, as told. His back molded to Richard’s, his body betraying him as it molded into the other man’s embrace. Richard pulled him hard against him, his body enveloping him in an almost suffocating hug.
“Go,” he whispered huskily into his ear, his breath fanning it. James pressed his thighs against Faith’s flanks, hoping the animal would understand, considering the strange position she was in. She did, for she set off at a trot in the direction Richard indicated. They galloped in silence, trees whirring past them, snow flying when they swept past. James eyes widened and he barely controlled the urge to order Faith to stop as he realized their impasse.
“Richard, the hoof prints, the snow.” James pointed at the visible trail. “They’ll track us down as easily as the king’s hounds trace a fox.”
Richard’s breath was warm in his ear. His hair tickled his temple and James had to suppress a shiver.
“I know.” Richard chuckled. “Don’t worry. I have a plan, besides wishing that they’ll wake up during the night and we’ll be miles away by then or that it snows heavily again.”
James wished he didn’t have to worry, but he couldn’t relax. The problem wasn’t so much the thieves that could pursue them at any moment, but the man behind him. He was too close, too comforting, and all too desirable. James shifted in his seat again, trying to find a comfortable position. One in which he wasn’t pressed up tightly against Richard’s groin. One in which he didn’t imagine he felt the length of his cock hard against him. Because, he was convinced it was his imagination. Otherwise, how could a man like Richard be interested in him? It didn’t make any sense. In his experience, men like Richard were ladies’ men. They seduced, fucked and discarded women. He wasn’t a woman and he’d been rejected too many times in his life. He didn’t need this. He didn’t need more pain. Richard’s fingers brushed against his side, the fingers digging into his flesh and distracting him as arousal flared in every centimeter of his flesh.
“What got you into thievery?” he asked, attempting to forget how close their bodies were.
Richard grunted in reply and he fell silent once more, fishing his mind for a topic of conversation. It came up blank. He thought about asking Richard to stop. Faith was probably tiring though she didn’t show it and surely, they were safe by now. He should ask. James knew he should, but he couldn’t. He was losing his mind, falling prey to the liquid fire that was consuming him inside and outside. He wasn’t sure if the man was hard, but he was. His cock was stiff and throbbing, the idea of taking or being taken by Richard flashing through his mind every time Faith bounced.
What would it feel like?
Flesh both silky and hard as steel brushing against him, an intimate caress, deep and longing. They’d become one man, writhing, gasping, and moaning. James’ breath hitched, the tightness in his breeches becoming uncomfortable. He clenched his teeth together and grasped the reins so tightly the material cut into his hands. He scrambled to regain his bearings, to remember whom he was with and what had occurred in the last 48 hours. He couldn’t trust Richard, but neither could he trust his treacherous body. He was not a beautiful man. Surely the thief didn’t want him. The thief. That’s right, Richard was a thief. He had no morals, no scruples, no—James groaned as Faith skipped over a fallen log, throwing Richard’s body against him, the erection he was sure he was imagining grinding against his bottom.

Behind The Book with Rebecca Brochu
Happy Monday everyone! To help get your week started, Rebecca Brochu stopped in to today to share the inspiration behind her newest release Next To You.
First thank you so much for having me on!
Inspiration can strike from the strangest places and at the strangest times.
I got the idea for Next To You well over a year ago. It was, as it often is for me, late night/early morning and I was busy doing research for another book. I accidently came across a blog dedicated to pictures of people who fell asleep on strangers while riding the subway. Captivated and amused I scrolled through more pages of the blog than I’m proud of. Eventually I began to wonder if any of those accidental nap partners ever went on to be friends, fall in love, or anything of the like.
So I made a note, saved it in my plot bunny folder and moved on. A year later after I finished my last project and was ready to start a new one I was cruising through my plot bunny folder, saw the file, smiled, and got to work!
I’m rather proud of the story that resulted as it was fun to write and I hope that everyone else will enjoy it as much as I do.
BLURB:
Understaffed, overworked and generally exhausted contractor Ricci DeAngelo still has to contend with a long subway ride at the end of each day. The last thing he expects is to fall head long into a relationship while dozing on the train. But that’s exactly what happens when a sexy and equally exhausted stranger falls asleep on his shoulder one night.
Ricci’s nap partner ends up being Layton Callis, an equally overworked pâtissier who looks and smells good enough to eat. When they unexpectedly fall into a routine of napping together on the late train Ricci finds himself in a unique position. He can continue only seeing Layton during the week and spending his weekends in a sleepless mess. Or Ricci can step up and see if he can get Layton to agree to wake up next to him on a more permanent basis.
Warning: the following contains adult content.
EXCERPT:
“I’m going to kiss you now.” Ricci blurted it out and watched Layton’s eyes go wide and then soft and hot. He reached out and put the empty mug on the bedside table beside Layton’s.
“If that’s how you react to coffee, I’m definitely going to have to cook breakfast…” Layton’s teasing was drowned out as Ricci pushed forward and kissed him.
It started slow, just like the kiss from the night before. Ricci teased the seam of Layton’s lips with his tongue, licked at the corners of his mouth leisurely for a moment before he swept inside. He chased the taste of coffee around Layton’s mouth, learned the curve of his teeth and the wet, hot strength of his tongue all over again. It was good, better than any kiss Ricci could remember at the moment. It only improved when Layton pressed closer until Ricci was forced to lean back completely against the headboard so Layton could crawl forward onto his lap.
They broke the kiss slowly and stayed where they were for a moment, faces pressed close as they both panted for air. Layton moved first. He slid his hands up the wide expanse of Ricci’s chest and then down over the curve of his shoulders as he ducked his head so he could place nipping kisses on the base of Ricci’s neck.
Ricci groaned and tipped his head back to give Layton better access while he clenched one hand in the sheet beside him and trailed the tips of the fingers on his other hand down Layton’s bare back until he could palm the curve of his ass.
Layton whined, a sweet high-pitched sound, when Ricci squeezed his ass lightly and then he set his teeth to Ricci’s skin harder in response.
Ricci bucked his hips upwards as he hissed at the sting. They both groaned low and long when the rapidly hardening jut of his cock pressed against Layton’s through the thin fabric of their sleep pants.
“You said I could touch you.” Ricci’s pulled Layton closer to him with the hand on his ass and finally untangled his other from where it had begun to claw at his bed sheets. “I really hope you meant it.”
“I meant it.” Layton’s words were broken by the way he panted against the curve of Ricci’s neck. “I definitely meant it.”

Extinction by Jorja Lovett--Alpha Claim Anthology
I'm happy to have fellow Evernight author Jorja Lovett here, today. She stopped in to share an excerpt of her story Extinction, which happens to be one of the novellas featured in the Alpha Claim Anthology! Hot, dominant, shifters are always a good thing! :-)
Alpha's Claim Anthology
Blurb:
Strength. Power. Domination.
The shifters in our Alpha's Claim anthology have one thing in common—they won't take “no” for an answer. Whether they lead packs of their own, or whether they walk a solitary path, these alphas won't let anyone stop them from claiming their women.
Lose yourself in these ten sinfully delicious love stories. After all, who could deny an Alpha?
I can't resist Evernight Publishing's anthologies. Especially when they put out a call for yummy Alpha shifters. My story in the anthology is Extinction. Here's a little snippet…
Extinction
"You have nothing to be ashamed of." The look Lucas shot her pinged Holly's nipples into points against the flimsy fabric of her nightwear.
"You saw me naked?" Regardless of whether his tale was true or not, she hated that there was a possibility he had seen her at her most vulnerable.
"I think that makes us even, don't you?" He clutched the pillow closer to his groin. She'd have to remember to put the cover in the wash tomorrow.
"So, you've seen me in the nip, and I've seen you. It's been fun, but could you please fuck off now? It's been a long day." She wanted to crawl back into bed and pretend the past twenty-four hours had never happened.
"I didn't realize losing my father's funding would cause you such hardship. I'm sorry I upset you. That wasn't my intention." He had seen her tears after all. Bugger. That put her on the back foot.
"What did you think was going to happen? That we would put the flags out and celebrate our independence? As much as I detest saying it, we rely on your contribution to fund the project here." She had to set her weapon down so she could wipe away some more stupid tears.
"I'm still trying to get over the loss of my father. I guess I was trying to make it easier on myself by cutting a lot of ties to him. Listen, do you have something I can wear? It's impossible to have a serious conversation when I'm standing here with my balls in my hand." He peered at her from under lowered lids, sounding strangely vulnerable.
Maybe he wasn't such a cold hearted bastard after all. She knew she would go completely doolally if anything happened to her parents. That still didn't make it any more appropriate for him to be stark bollock naked in her bedroom. The sooner he covered up his six-pack and that happy trail of hair dipping from his navel, the quicker she could resume hating him. She grabbed her robe from behind the bedroom door and threw it at him.
"Thanks." He dropped the pillow to catch it in both hands.
Fuck a duck! Holly tried to avert her eyes, but she could still see his junk swinging about in
her peripheral vision as he dressed. "I think I'll go put the kettle on."

Jorja Lovett is a British author with both Irish and Scottish roots, which makes for a very dry sense of humour. Writing since she was old enough to wield a pen, it wasn't until she joined her crit group, UCW, that she pursued her passion seriously.
Now, with Joe Manganiello as her permanent muse, if she can leave the pause button on her Magic Mike dvd long enough, she hopes to spend the rest of her days writing steamy romances.

“Panther Ridge” by Jessica Jayne
Panther Ridge Blurb:
Nathan Thorne is many things. Confident. Proud. Strong. Ruggedly good-looking. And a firefighter. But what really makes him different from most men is that he’s part animal… literally…he shifts into a Florida panther. Nate has spent most of his life a loner, finding satisfaction in random women and roaming his one hundred fifty acres of Florida flatlands in Panther Ridge that his mother left him. He was content. But when Ciara Black enters Nate’s favorite hangout he doesn’t know what hit him. She’s everything he’s ever desired and he knows without a doubt that she’s his mate.
Ciara is on the run trying to escape her father and step-brother’s attempts to steal her Momma’s money. Life is hard and full of disappointments until she meets Nate Thorne. He turns her inside out with just a few words and a smile.
When someone threatens Ciara, Nate can’t do anything but protect what’s his. Can Ciara love him and the animal within?
Excerpt:
“What brought you to town, Ciara?” Nate asked. His gaze wandered over her face. Her nose dipped just slightly giving her a delicate look. Her lips were full and pouty, perfect for wrapping around his cock. Fuck! I need to get my head on straight. It hasn’t been that long since I’ve been laid. But it had been that long since he’d wanted so desperately to be laid by a particular female. In fact, this may have been the only time he could remember feeling only one female could bring him the release he needed, and that female was her. Every ounce of him, body and soul, told him Ciara was his mate.
“A change,” she said, softly, finally looking away from him.
“A change from what?” he pushed.
“A change from my family,” she said, opening the cooler and apparently checking the stock.
“What’s wrong with your family?” Nate asked. “Jack’s a great guy.” Shutting the cooler door, she turned to face him. Placing her hands on the counter, she leaned in closer to him. Her scent enveloped him and he had to bite his lower lip to keep from growling.
“Uncle Jack’s not the problem. He’s the reason I stayed in Florida. Otherwise, I’d have headed out west to get clear of my money-grubbing father and stepbrother,” she said, looking him straight in the eye. “You’re quite the nibby-nose!”
“Just like to know who’s pouring my beer,” he said with a smirk.
“Are you going to look at me all night like you want to eat me alive?”
Nate’s hands shot out to grasp her wrist in such a quick fashion that Ciara looked stunned. Being a panther shifter made him more agile than most normal men. His quickness had saved his life on more than one occasion, but it also benefitted him in situations like this one where he wanted to make a point and catch someone off guard. The feel of her skin against his was more than he could take, and the growl that he had been trying to stifle escaped.
“I am going to eat you alive,” he whispered, tightening his grip on her wrists. Her blue eyes widened. Though there was a hint of fear in her eyes, he also saw the desire, and that made him continue. “I’m going to bury my tongue in that sweet little pussy of yours until you come all over my face. I can’t wait to taste you.” She inhaled sharply at his words.

New Release by Stacey Espino -- Cowboys Mine
Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope where you're at it's warm and sunny, because here in Northeast PA it's downright freezing out there! If you are living somewhere that resembles the arctic today, I have something guaranteed to warm you up. No hot chocolate needed. How does a western romance sound with not one, but two sizzling hot cowboys sound? Stacey Espino stopped by today to give us all details on her newest release Cowboys Mine. :-)
COWBOYS MINE by Stacey Espino
Western Menage (MFM) Romance
Blurb
Eva Ford lives a sheltered life on her small rural farm. At twenty-two, she feels the need to spread her wings and start her own life, planning a trip to the city to show her prized cows. Colton and North McReed from the next ranch over are determined to make sure she stays out of trouble.
Twin brothers, Colton and North, have always loved little Eva. She's their rock in life, the one pure thing in their otherwise dark existence. Their abusive father ran out on the family years ago and their mother suffers from a serious addiction. They never look at Eva with desire...until they spend a week alone with her in the city.
Everything changes when Eva and the cowboys realize just how deep their love for each other runs. Once their passion is unleashed, it's impossible to contain. But can their unorthodox relationship last? Will sex ruin the friendship of a lifetime?
Excerpt
North was ready to brawl. In fact, he craved it like never before. Pain would be preferable to the ache in his heart. Somewhere along the line he began to see Eva as more than the sweet girl next door. Somewhere along the line he’d fallen in love.
What he didn’t understand was Colton’s sudden disinterest. Their feelings for Eva always mirrored each other’s. Half the time when he’d escape to the Ford house, Colton was already there. They’d come on the trip specifically to keep Eva out of trouble, but instead, his twin was turning a blind eye.
They ate dinner in silence. North watched the sky turn from blue to black, every darkening shade bringing his anxiety to a new level. She still wasn’t back. God knows what that cowboy was doing with little Eva. The thought of his filthy hands on her made his blood boil. He wasn’t sure how much longer he could sit still with his imagination running wild.
He was just about to bolt from his seat when the door to the trailer opened. Cool air flooded the interior and the sound of Eva clearing her throat made every live wire inside him suddenly lose power. He exhaled a nervous breath, glad she was at least home safely.
“Told you I’d be back in one piece,” she said as she hung up her cardigan. “There’s no need to go hunting me down. Seriously.”
She started to climb up into the loft.
“Where’s lover boy?” asked North, no humor in his tone.
“His name is Wade, and he just dropped me off, like a perfect gentleman.”
“That why he had his lips all over you?” asked Colton. His brother was just as unimpressed, even though he’d condoned the behavior.
“Hush you!” Eva slipped under the covers.
“You haven’t eaten,” said North.
“Wade bought me dinner.”
He ground his teeth together, stifling a growl. The sound of that man’s name on Eva’s lips made him see red. If he never heard the name again it would be too soon.
They secured the trailer and turned out the lights before joining Eva in the bed. He tossed his shirt and lay down on his back, staring up at the low ceiling. She was already comfortable, obviously not feeling the volatile energy keeping him awake. He kept as far to his side as possible, the cold wall of the trailer chilling his arm. Every time she shifted in the bed, he tensed.
“I’m cold,” she murmured, cuddling closer to him. The heat of her body scorched his bare skin. In a matter of days, everything changed for him. He wasn’t sure when it happened, but he wished he could go back to the way things were. Uncomplicated.
He tried to get away from her but he was trapped in the tight confines of the sleeping area. He held his breath as she ran her palm over his chest, over and over in small circles. Her touch had always been soothing—not so much anymore.
“What’s wrong with you?” she whispered against his neck. His eyes lolled back in his head. Even her fucking breath was sweet.
“Nothing. Go to sleep, Eva.”
“You’re acting weird, North. Is this because of Wade?”
He decided the cowboy was a safer topic than his changing feelings for her. “I don’t trust him.”
“Why not?”
“Just don’t is all.” He rolled to his side and away from her. It didn’t feel right going to sleep on a sour note, but he couldn’t have this discussion now. Mrs. Ford was the one to teach him and Colton not to speak out of passion. It was always best to confront a person with a level head, after cooling off and replaying the events over in your head. He usually didn’t take the advice, but tonight felt like a good time to start.
“Will you two quiet down,” said Colton.
Eva pressed her body against his back. Why had he taken off his shirt? He needed layers between them—many, many layers.
“I know what I’m doing,” she said in a whisper. “You don’t have to worry about me.”
“I’d worry less if you spent more time with Bessie and Ruby than that drifter.”
“He’s not a drifter.”
“Why you defending him?” he asked. “You act like you’re already an item.”
She kissed his shoulder. “I just want you to be happy for me, North.”
“It doesn’t matter what I think.”
“It does. You’re the one who taught me how to rope a calf, and even though it took me weeks to learn, you never got impatient. You protected me when Jameson’s dogs got loose.” She ran her hand delicately down his arm, her fingers lingering over the raised scars on his forearm. “You bought me a corsage when no boy asked me to prom. Remember when the three of us danced in the rain that night? My dress was covered in mud.”
“I remember.”
“Well those are just examples of why I love you so much. It doesn’t feel right doing anything without your blessing.”
He wasn’t sure he could ever give her what she wanted.
