Counting Stars

At the end of my holiday novella, Counting Fence Posts, Henry invites Marc back to his parents’ place for Christmas. Actually, it’s less invitation, more assumption, but Marc doesn’t object, and after two days of haunting the lobby of a crowded hotel outside Albany, they’re finally on their way back to Boston.

If not for a word count limit, I might have included this visit in the original novella. I’m actually glad I didn’t. Not only do I now have the chance to share an extra story (which I love doing), I really like the way Counting Fence Posts ended. It was sweet, simple and filled with promise.

I hope you enjoy this extra slice of time with Henry and Marc! Their story is set to continue, by the way. Counting Down, which is their first actual date, is coming spring 2017 from Dreamspinner Press! Details on my Coming Soon page. And I’m currently outlining the final story in the Counting trilogy, Counting Out, which will be another road trip, with less roadside distress and more happy ever after. That’s the plan, anyway.

Marc's Worst Date

Counting Down releases in just over two weeks, so I figured it might be time to post a few excerpts! And, you know, let you all know I have a book coming out soon. In this excerpt, Marc and Henry are swapping worst date stories. Marc’s worst date may or may not be based on an actual date I might or might not have been on…

Read the excerpt.

COUNTING DOWN is available now.

Because I’m evil, I’ve taken two perfectly nice guys and locked them in a basement together. Honestly, it’s for their own good. Really! Marc has issues to work through and Henry needs more time to get used to the idea that Marc really is gay.

Actually, they both need to work on that one.

What reviewers are saying:

“I liked this one even better than the first! I could read more of these two just being trapped/locked in various places.”

“This was lovely and now I can't wait for the final book.”

“…believable and relatable.”

and my favourite quote ever:

"Kelly Jensen rocks writing the short story. Seriously, she packs so much depth into such a small word count."
