I found this poem on my daughter’s Facebook page, she’s forever writing poems. I told her I was going to blog it and along with a thumbs up she told me my painting that I did several years ago is what inspired her poem. I find that thrilling! What a wonderful process of artists encouraging writers encouraging singers and musicians and dancers and so on to an eternity of beauty making!

The recent Royal Wedding gave us a glimpse at some of the beautiful, ornate and priceless carriages that are housed in The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace in Londonand that are used for special occasions by members of The Royal Family and others.

With that in mind, I decided to dive a little deeper into transportation, driving, carriages and coaches in the Victorian Era which was from 20 June 1837 until the death of Queen Victoria on...

Queen Euphemia and Robert II, King of Scots from the Forman Armorial, 1562

Robert II, King of Scots and grandson of Robert the Bruce was a handsome, charming man who had many descendants. He not only had two wives who had numerous children but many mistresses who had babies as well. In fact, we will never really know how many offspring he had because the annals only name his male illegitimate children and none of the females. Due to these many...

Morgacover18n is a dear friend of mine. One of those found in the madness known as Facebook. This is her second visit to my little alcove. You may remember her previous offering, Dancing within Shadow. Her poetry touched me then, and it continues to do so. Through her poetry she finds a way to paint a story of the pain, discovery and joy of her life. She openly shares her journ...

Fencing in Fantasy

Believe it or not, my fencing experience has very much to do with a fantasy story. I was in the midst of writing a duel in Cassandra’s Castle when I learned there was a fencing center in our town. I come from a fairly small city, so it would seem I’d have known about a fencing center since I’ve been wanting to le...

Unexpected Texas.

Admittedly, my time in Texas was not something I would care to repeat. Yet I found myself remembering a bit of the about the things I did enjoy. Browsing through Tui’s delightful little book some of the special little treasurers that are so exquisitely “Texas” popped into my mind.

Tui begins with just a hin...

Friends, My fundraising efforts temporarily came to a screeching halt. The Indiegogo Fundraiser for The Balck GUides of Mammoth Cave documentary is still going on, and I still need your contributions to help finish our film, but my personal outreach took a big hit for a while. I take care of my elderly mother and 11days ago she had a minor stroke – a TIA. I took her to the hospital and she was admitted. In addition to the s...
