I Have A Dream, And It Involves LCS

A couple of weeks ago I posted a note about the new Dynamics AX 2012 R3 image that you can deploy through the Azure Marketplace which is pretty darn cool: http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/marketplace/partners/microsoft/microsoft_dynamics_lcs/?rnd=1

To solve this problem I decided to convert the Bare Bones Configuration Guides (http://www.dynamicsaxcompanions.com/barebonesconfig) into a custom methodology:...

Announcing My Latest Blog: The Waterdeep Trading Company Project

This week I have been reviving an old project that started a while ago and have started up a new project blog to track the progress. Being a lifelong fan of Dungeons & Dragons, with the unfortunate problem that I cannot find anyone to play with I have decided to create a test implementation Dynamics AX in the AD&D format just to see how it would work and if I can find some creative ways to use Dynamics AX and chose to implement the Waterdeep Trading Company as an example where I can track the...

Seats Still Available for the AXUG Academy Class on Inventory Management within Dynamics AX 2012

The Academy – AX Configuration Series Class that I am teaching on Inventory Management within Dynamics AX 2012 is coming up next week (Friday, June 12, 2015 at 12:45 PM). This is the sixth in the series, and continues on from the General Ledger, Cash and Bank Management, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable classes that we have held over the past few months.

Due to bad planning on my part, this class combines two major sections from the Bare Bones Configuration series that I have been cr...

Configuring Procurement and Sourcing within Dynamics AX 2012 Now Available

I’m happy to say that I just finished the first of two books that I will be publishing on the Procurement and Sourcing module within Dynamics AX, and it is available for download.

The Procurement and Sourcing area within Dynamics AX not only allows you to manage and track all of the purchasing activities within your organization. It is also where you can manage all of your purchasing hierarchies, which allow you to organize all of your purchased products into more manageable groups. You can...

In this guide we will step you through the setup of all of the basic configuration tha...

Adding The Drag And Drop Document Links To Additional Forms

Everyone is probably familiar with the Document Attachments feature that is built into Dynamics AX, but you may not know that there is a second document management function that allows you to drag and drop files into it and also add additional notes against documents. If you didn’t know this then don’t feel too left out, it is part of the Sales and Marketing module, and is only available on a handful of forms.

Why this is interesting though is because if you want to do some light configurati...

Nothing Says I Like What You Do Like A Pinpoint Recommendation

I have a confession to make – although you all may know this already – like all struggling authors, my writing and curating the Dynamics AX Companions site is my second job, and the only way that I am able to do this is through the support of I.B.I.S. Inc.

So to return the favor back to them I am asking all of my community of readers that if you like what I am doing through the Dynamics AX Companions site, then show the love by creating a review for my benefactor on Pinpoint. For those of yo...
