Things to make me go hmmm....

In our deepest hour of need the creator asks for no credentials .  Iyanla (the boss!)

My best lesson for the day, stop judging people, you have no authority to do so! When the sun shines, does it shine on the "good" ones? Or does it shine for all?
Can the mango tree stop a "bad" person from picking and eating the fruit?
We spend so much time judging rather than living our own life!

I digested that today and just said hmmmmmm

Taking Responsibility

Responsibility. What does responsibility mean? Responsibility means not blaming anyone or anything for your situation, including yourself. Having accepted this circumstance, this event, this problem, responsibility then means the ability to have a creative response to the situation as it is now. All problems contain the seeds of opportunity, and this awareness allows you to take the moment and transform it to a better situation or thing. Deepak Chopra
I have been reading the Spiritual Laws by Deepak Chopra this week! I read it before but you know sometimes you re read a book and it resonates with you again and you see things that you somehow missed! As I was reading, the focus was on responsibility and his definition jumped out at me!He talks about acceptance, finding creative responses and not blaming! Now, I thought this was absolutely sobering given the lessons that I picked up on the journey thus far because all the teachers taught me about making another choice, about taking what I have and turning it into something worthwhile, about using what I have to transform myself into someone that I am proud of and love unconditionally and it boils down to taking responsibility for me!

Every single thing that remains in our lives that we don't want or don't like, we have a part to play in it! Not taking responsibility, not accepting, not making another choice, it really is so simple! So what am I not taking responsibility for in my life right now?
Heck, I want to make a difference in the world by sharing all my lessons, will moaning about it do that? No! Take responsibility
Do you want to lose weight? Take responsibility
Do you want loving and healthy relationships? Take responsibility
Do you want a new career? Take responsibility!
What ever it is, you have the ability to make a new choice, to not blame yourself and the people around you
Ok, things are going to change, but things change daily and one of my favourite lessons is "this too shall pass" so go through the storm knowing that the clouds will part and sunshine is on the other side!
Peace!

what do you do with your energy?

most of our energy goes into upholding our importance. ... If we were capable of losing some of that importance, two extraordinary things would happen to us: One, we would free our energy from trying to maintain the illusory idea of our grandeur; and two, we would provide ourselves with enough energy to catch a glimpse or the actual grandeur of the universe.. The art of dreaming

A really great teacher told me if I remember anything that she told me remember this "there is only one of us here" so when you are "putting someone in their place" remember its one of you so do it in a respectful way, out yourself in the other person's shoes!
Yesterday I remembered that. I was in the supermarket car park minding my own business with my mother and aunt and a lady thought I had hit her car, truth be told the car door opened and touched her car
She ran up to us screaming at the top of her lungs, the woman was even trembling! She couldn't believe we hit her car, Oh my god, what type of people are you? You don't even care, say sorry! All of us stood in disbelief as there was no visible evidence of the car being hit. She ran inside called her husband and they were both pissed! The husband started kicking our car, saying" How does this feel" My mother said well, we can't feel it its the car you are hitting not us"
So it was a heated environment!
I told my mum and aunt to go back into the car, let me handle this, I thought I was a pretty calm person. I asked the lady, what exactly do you want? Let's discuss it!
She started screaming again, all up in my face!
"I want you to be arrested"
"For what?"
"For boldfaceness
"Lady that's not a charge"
The woman lost it and charged at me screaming
I stepped back but I was getting so angry!
"Maam Again, what do you want?"
I just told you I want you to be arrested and charged
Then it hit me
I don't have to tolerate this nonsense! I said to her "listen you are being unreasonable and this is a pack of nonsense, I refuse to tolerate it, have a good day"
"Let's go"
Got in my car and drove off!
We don't have to be participate in every argument we have been invited to! Say what you have to say like there's one of us here and bust out!
Peace

Going deep

I've been having a really scattered week, overthinking as my friend tells me! I wanted to come to Trinidad to work, to promote the book, to work with rural communities, to do meaningful service to Trinidad and the world, to write to speak, to serve. And I didn't have a clue where to start but as the Universe is such a miracle machine I have been blessed to meet some amazing awesome people who have been very supportive and now I've been slipping into frustration mode, why is it moving so slow, how will I support myself financially when things slowdown , how can I increase my income and service. It's been, yeah, that type of week and then I let go. I said, "self, let go, just chill and sit still for a moment and regroup" So as the self was chillin, self heard a whisper to go and read and I kid you not, I opened my laptop and here it was! I wanted to share this for anyone who can identify with this feeling, it really helped me
Thank you Mastin
Peace!

Going deep is scary. But, it’s where passion and fulfillment reside.

Here’s how to find and begin one passion:

1. Look at your life. What lights you up? What has lit you up in the past?

2. Based on that, what hopes, dreams, aspirations do you have about this thing that lights you up?   3. What would the scariest decision be to continue to do what lights you up?   4. Create a three-month plan about how you are going to make this decision. Work backwards with all the things you must do to get there in three months.   5. Find five people who are already successful at your passion. Study them. Look at how they are doing things. Success leaves clues, so find the clues of their success, model them in your unique way.   6. Remember that you don’t need clarity – you need courage. You get clarity by taking action. Courage is your #1 asset. With courage – all other things are possible.   7. Show up every day working your plan. You do not have to earn your worth as a human being. But you do have to earn living a passionate life.   8. Surround yourself with a team or group of people who believe in you.   9. Don’t talk to haters or naysayers about it. Just let them watch.   10. Face a fear each day and watch Grace unfold in your life.

ahhh simplicity!

If everything within you advises that you leave, and the only reasons that you can think of to stay are superficial and material in a manner that doesn't support the true quality of your lifestyle, then I say go. Move on. No matter what the circumstance may be, if the path chosen is a spiritual one, every milestone reached shall embellish the soul. I came to the realization that that was truly my goal. The Floacist
A friend of mine asked me the following questions about a decision I have to make1. Which will make you happier?2. What will make you happier than todayI told my friend I can be happy just watching football! His response was Ahhh Simplicity!Simplicity is to me the most important quality I live by! And this was further reinforced by something I read from Steve Jobs "focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it's worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains." So I keep it simple, why? because there is no need to complicate things at all!
Here's my formula: The Path to Greatness = Vision+Order+Faith+Trust+Simplicity+Chocolate
Peace!

Sharing some info on an amazing new piece of work...

My friend Maxine is launching her second book via a Webinar on Friday! Congratulations to her! Please join her in this amazing event! Highly recommended for leaders, managers and thinkers! (Details are below)
Nice one Max!

"The Safe Space is the place to explore organizational issues, challenge the status quo, ask questions and create solutions. This is the place for effective planning, fine-turning details and decision-making. It is a place to prepare for the big meeting, presentation, job interview or whatever your next big moment is.” (Excerpt from “Lead Your Team to Win,” the excellent new book from @AttongMaxine.) Are you tired of hearing – or saying – “because we’ve always done it that way” whenever a new idea is proposed? Does rocking the boat make you quake in your boots, or do you welcome new ideas like a drowning man welcomes a life preserver? In a Safe Space, there is no status quo, only the present – evolving, changing and growing into whatever the team desires. Register now for this October 3 webinar to learn more about Maxine’s book and how to create a #SafeSpace for your team. http://bit.ly/LeadYourTeamWebinar
Peace!!

There is no need to be restless

There is no need to be restless or anxious, concerned about whether I will make it or when I will make it. I will. That is all I need to know. It is accomplished already, and I can travel this illusory journey in peace knowing that in reality it is already over . ACIM
On my way to the school to launch the NiNa Programme! I read that passage this morning and exhaled! thought I would share it with you!
Oh another random thing, I was at the airport this morning at 5am giving someone I never met 11 of my books! Life is full of adventures and surprises!
Peace!!

Light ah fyah!

Release is evident of TRUST! Unknown

I think yesterday was one of my most humblest and grateful moments! I was asked to come and do a talk to a group of women in NYC, I could not do it, my schedule did not allow for this to happen. They insisted that they wanted to talk about my book at their gathering! I spoke to my publicist and she agreed to go and answer any questions. She called me after so excited and happy.

"This was so awesome, they read from your book, asked questions, want to meet you and want to do it again with you there"

"Are you serious?"

"Yes, as a heart attack"

"They really resonated with your story and have asked me for eleven books as well"

She went on and on about how the fire spread and I light it and I was not even there!

I felt a swell of humility and gratitude that I smiled all day

People I am sharing this story to say, do you! Do you and keep doing you! There's no need for perfection, only willingness and authenticity.
According to Deepak Chopra  "You must learn to get in touch with the innermost essence of your being. This true essence is beyond the ego. It is fearless; it is free; it is immune to criticism; it does not fear any challenge. It is beneath no one, superior to no one, and full of magic, mystery, and enchantment."

I am challenging you today to do the very thing that you fear, the very thing you say you cannot do!
Take it from me, the feeling is awesome!
Peace!!

How do you see the world?

You don't see the world how it is, you see the world how you are ! L.A. Watkins

How do you see the world? Do you see it as rough, wrong, hard or do you see it as a journey, something to look forward to, inviting? How you see the world is what will reflect in what you do!

I heard the statement on Thursday and it resonated with me so much so that I stopped and asked myself the question!

Asking the question makes a difference to quite a bit of the decisions that I have made since them!

Peace!!!

Make the call...

I'm blowing up like you thought I would, call the crib, same number, same hood, its all good
And if you don’t know now you know Notorious BIG

NiNa Young Entrepreneurs Programme moves to Penal! South of the Island, to a new school, a new audience and a new team! I'm pretty excited! The Programme which focuses on teaching young women about empowerment through entrepreneurship is spreading! And even better, we were able to secure sponsorship from Republic Bank Limited, one of the country's leading banking institutions! I'm celebrating today this milestone of new school, new sponsor and transformation

This is a call to you, to do something that you always wanted to, to take the risk, make the call, write the email! And if you heard no, shake it off and move on again! I had a thousand no's but I pressed on and used what I had and the Universe is so gentle at times, there were people and friends who I asked for assistance who gave their precious time and energy to make this happen! Big Love to them all!

So I'm off! Things to do, people to see and places to go
Peace!!
