Done!

All the books went into the post yesterday, so should be with readers by the end of the week. Now, I've really got to get my head down on the next book!

Got the list

I've now received the list of people who've been successful in the Giveway. I really wish I could send everybody a copy! I've kept the details of a couple of people whom, based on their interests, I think would particularly like Think Zombie and haven't been shortlisted. I should have a few copies over, so I'm hoping to get in touch and offer them a copy. If anyone else wants to get in touch, I'm happy to consider.

More Giveaway

Now that my last Kindle free download is finished (last weekend), I can turn my mind to the Goodreads giveaway. On the Kindle giveaway, I think it's just about run its course now. The numbers last time were significantly lower, and I think if I do it again, I might find my social media network starting to shrink! So as I type this, I'm thinking do I describe how I'm going to go to the stationers this afternoon and sort out the envelopes etc, but I'm realising that I should do a bit of clicking elsewhere on this site, and set it up now. Envelopes and all that should really not be beyond my capabilities once I have to do it! So that's what I'll do. Giveaway should be appearing any time soon.

Slow Progress and Plotting!

The current book isn't going quite as quickly as I hoped. What I learnt from writing Think Zombie, was the benefit of having a really good plot outline, not just knowing where you want to end up and the point you're making, but the key steps to get there. I think for me, the trick is to get enough but no more. So with my current book I'm trying to get this right. However, I've realised that I made the mistake of thinking that because this would be only a few pages long, it would be quick. Quite the opposite! I realise I've got really immerse myself in the story and live through the steps if it's going to be believable and enjoyable to read (and write!). All part of the process!

Giveaway(S)

Received a big box of copies of 'Think Zombie' today, ready for a doing a Giveaway. It's going to be a free download on Kindle next week from Halloween (appropriate, eh?) for a few days, so the Goodreads Giveaway will be shortly after that. There is something very satisfying about receiving a hard copy of the book you've written, but a whole box full...!

First Post

It's been a few months since my first novel was published. I've not become the overnight sensation that I was hoping, but I've realised that's not what matters. What does matter is that I now know that I want to write. Think Zombie was written during a 'work break', so the challenge now is to fit in writing my next book around work. Should be easy, as once I start writing, I really enjoy it, but it's one of those things that's easier said than done. Writing this first blog post is my first step though, as I need to do this as well if I'm really going to try to become a full time author, so first step completed.
