Movie Nuts, Brunch, Apocalypse Now

Great company, great coffee, great food and fantastic weather made all the more miraculous because it was forecast to rain all day. But it didn't! Instead, the sun shone right from the morning into the wee hours of the evening and nothing could have started it better than heading off to brunch at Muj Salek Kavy, otherwise known as My Cup of Coffee. What came about was a lively discussion on our most beloved and hated TV shows and movies, and why the five out of six of us never watched Apoc...

Reeling in ecstasy from latest review of Ice Phoenix!

Don't ask me why I'm up this late - it's Saturday uhhh technically Sunday morning in Prague and oh all right, there's no point in hiding it. I was watching Cartoon Network's Justice League (WonderWoman is kicking ass) when I happened to check my Amazon.com page and noticed a new review. 5 FRIGGING STARS. My gosh - it's such a great feeling when someone enjoys the story you've written and honestly, how do other writers control their egos when someone praises them? My way is really simple. I can control my big head BECAUSE not many people have read my book. Yeah. Real downer huh? But still ...

A Steampunk Dystopian Theme? I don't care - I love it!

I love Tarja Turunen and always will. Ever since I stumbled across the band Nightwish all those years ago and finally felt relief that there was at last a band that could understand and represent the burning creative passion in me. To me (obviously this is a matter of personal taste) Nightwish unleashed something almost heroic and inspiring in me and overflowing with emotions, I couldn't risk them spilling over into nothing. Hence the words began to take shape, they blackened the paper a...

Fukushima Radiation is Now a Global Disaster

Picture Wow. 2 posts in one day. What on earth has happened to me? I usually struggle to think of what I can write, if there was anything interesting I had to share and my general conclusion to such thoughts is nothing that would come out on this blog. Until now. Now I'm pissed. I'm really angry. I'm angry at Japan, I'm angry at myself, I'm just mad.

Why? No one could fail to be moved by Japan's plight in 2011 when it was struck by a deadly tsunami that took countless lives and practically broug...

New cover underway for Ice Phoenix

Picture Just in case you are wondering, the picture above is NOT the cover for Ice Phoenix. But it's similar to what I want and I love the unusual depiction of this particular dragon in space. It lacks the wings and fire that is so typical of all the dragons you read about, and the artist has done such a wonderful job of this one - to the point that its scales could be mistaken for fur! Me like very much! :) Hence I contacted this person right away and fate must have been shining on the both of...

What is love? This is what children think.

Picture I'm sad. I'm trying to do something about it but nothing seems to help except the occasional bit of humour which momentarily distracts me and then I'm back to being sad, or even worse, silently cursing the root of it all. You see, I know what's causing my angst and there's nothing I can really do about it. Well, that's a lie - I could, but it's bloody hard. There are two roots by the way. One is in my mind and the other is an actual person. The easiest way to solve this is to tell my mind I...
