No Purchase Necessary.
After looking into some laws and regulations about some contests done with ebooks, I wanted to launch something to giveaway a free Kobo Ereader.
The details are not set in stone and I will be posting up all the exact rules of the contest, but for now, I will say that it will have something to do with reading a sample of The Growing Dim Project, which is free for you, the reader.
Borders is about to release The Growing Dim Project soon and to kick off this next portion of my writing career, I noticed that not everyone has an ereader, nor do they know that they can read ebooks on their computer, smartphone, etc. So I thought I would give one away to a reader that is truly missing out on a great experience.
As for now, I am simply posting this blog to raise some buzz about this and will post more details later. I hope you all enjoy the free sample of The Growing Dim Project.
Thanks for reading,
Nicholas.

Win a Kobo?
Hello to all!
I am looking to do a giveaway of a Kobo e-reader to one lucky person who purchases my book. The contest has not yet started as I have yet to figure out the details.
I am posting this to get some feedback on what you, the reader, would expect out of such a contest.
Here are my thoughts on what the rules should be:
1. The drawing will last through the end of July.
2. You must show proof of purchase (email confirming download) before prize will be shipped.
3. One honest review on any of the major sites where The Growing Dim Project is listed (goodreads, amazon, nook, etc). Sucking up to win the prize won't work, because I will be using a "random" website to draw the name, not persona choice, or friends.
4. A message to me stating your email (will not be used for future use of spamming new books), where you purchased your copy and what site you will place your honest review.
That's it folks, that's all I have for now. Please send me your feedback and PLEASE forward this blog along. I am very excited about this and am looking to promote this once I have the prize in hand and the rules are set.
I thank you in advance to anyone who may read this and respond. Have a rockin' day!
Nicholas.

A quick story...
The other day, I had my first book lecture at a psychic fair. I was completely unprepared due to the fact that nothing was confirmed that I would be doing the book lecture.
I had setup my table with bookmarks, flyers and printed snippets at a vendor table and I was surrounded by other vendors who did aura pictures, chakra stones and sold used books on mystical beings and cards. I love the pyschic fairs, they are usually filled with such energy.
I was literally on my way to the restroom when the director of the fair asked if I was ready, there was a room waiting for me. I walked in the room, nook in hand and began talking about my work and how I was inspired by the Greek Gods to write and also how music plays such an important part of my work.
I read a excerpt from my work and immediately the hands went up from the audience to ask questions. I was unprepared for this also, but my book can have a wide audience and what I was looking at was a crowd of women ages 50 and up.
I was asked about my process of writing, the art of selling ebooks onlne, and the expenses I endure to make sure that I sell at least one copy a day.
The moral of this story is, I would love to do more events that are wrapped around my book. I am writing this blog post with hopes of comments listed of where you may have seen an author promoting or where you have promoted your own work.
In the meantime, please feel free to add the following book to your shelves and enjoy the free sample!!
Thanks for reading,
Nicholas McGirr

Many thanks

To all those who have added me to your friends list over the past few weeks, I wanted to say thank you. It has been a very hectic week, as I've been out promoting my latest work which you can find at the top of this blog page.
I wanted to invite each of you to visit my page to check out my latest ebook, The Growing Dim Project, the first of a series that I am currently working on. I have another ebook coming out this summer entitled Life of Death, which will be available here in the near future.
Once you visit my page for The Growing Dim Project, please add it to your "to reads" shelves, as I am getting many hits on my ads here on goodreads and having a hard time judging the sales coming through the major retailers as I have yet to get my first set of reports.
Again, I thank you for adding me to your friends list, yet apologize because normally I send out a personal thank you to each person that adds me. I hope this blog finds you well and that you will take the time to support a new/fellow author in finding his dream of becoming that household name that floats by your computer screen on a regular basis.
Until then, have a wonderful weekend and I will keep up with this blog regularly.

Thanks to all those that have requested my book when I posted it for free. I hope you enjoy your reading and will post any type of review here on Goodreads, or on any other site such as barnes and noble, kindle, or the like.
I deeply apologize for this late response, but due to internet services changing in my area, I have only been able to access the internet from my phone (ick!).
Again, I thank you and hope you guys enjoy your reading!!

Hello Everyone!
I've decided to do a giveaway of my book to anyone who is willing to write a review and post it here on goodreads, kindle.com, or nook.com.
My book, The Growing Dim Project is available in ebook format and falls under a Greek Mythology/Paranormal genre.
Synopsis:
Crossman and Jessica never thought they would find themselves part of a rock and roll band on the rise, and Crossman never thought he would find himself part of a master plan from the Lord of the Underworld.
Meet Crossman McKnight, a rock drummer who is bound by the Fates to take on a destiny that is out of his reach, or is it? Music seems to be the only constant thing in Cross's life as he figures out that Greek Mythology characters from the Underworld are surrounding him and even Cross's mentor, Lenny, has encountered these characters.
Find out what Cross's destiny will be and how he and Jessica will survive the beginning of this long journey that just may never end. Literally.

The Growing Dim Project
Book One: The Growing Dim Project
To All fans:
I am starting this blog so that I can update future readers of my events and progress with sales of Book One: The Growing Dim Project.
As of April 26, so far clicks have been coming through on my advertising here on goodreads and I have recently started advertising on facebook.
I also have my first book lecture coming up on June 4th and 5th at a psychic fair here in my hometown. As exciting as this sounds, I have no idea on how to start talking about this work. The battle is between talking about what inspired me to write this work, or talk about the plot of the story.
I am sure I will come up with something. Talking in front of a group of people simply comes natural to me.
Anyway, this is the end of my first submission. Please follow this blog for any other news updates on The Growing Dim Project and soon to be released ebook, Life of Death.
As of right now, you can purchae The Growing Dim Project on your nook and Kindle and soon will be the Sony Reader and iPad. I will update when available.
Thanks for reading,
Nicholas A. McGirr
