Strum: A Novel by Nancy Young

The launch of STRUM is well and truly off!

Last week, author Nancy Young did a benefit reading for KidsTalkRadio to support local internships for youth in multicultural journalism. The concert was held on July 30 @ 5:30 pm at Long Beach Main Library to an auditorium of parents and kids - set to the magical sounds of the Sound Effects Orchestra.

This week: a book signing at Apostrophe Books (4712 E 2nd Street, Long Beach) on Sunday, Aug 11 @ 4:30-6:30 pm. (it's next to La Strada Ristorante: Come chat, buy a book, getta spaghetti! What's not to like? :-)

Come to Long Beach this weekend, Sat-Sun, Aug 10-11th from 10am-4pm for the Sand Castle Competition at Granada Beach. I'll be representing the Long Beach Public Library Foundation and then doing a book signing at Apostrophe Books (4712 E 2nd Street, Long Beach) on Sunday, Aug 11 @ 4:30-6:30 pm. It's next to La Strada restaurant (yumm!), so come have a chat, buy a book, and getta spaghetti! What's not to like? :-)

Strum: A Novel by Nancy Young

Save the Date and come! I'm now in the Vroman's Bookstore Local Authors event on Oct. 26th @ 4 pm!

I might make Strum t-shirts to mark this occasion - working as a cashier and gift-wrapper @ Vroman's was one of my favorite jobs in high school/college. I see it as a "homecoming." Hoping my whole JMHS Class of '81 will come out!

Meanwhile, I'm on first this Sunday Aug 11 @ 4:30 pm @ Apostrophe Books in Long Beach. Did you know that Apostrophe was the bookstore filmed in the movie, "Knocked Up" when it was still in Pasadena at the Paseo? So, in a way it's also a homecoming...?!
