Giveaway from Author Diane Kelly

The amazing Diane Kelly and I have paired up for a fun Facebook post comparing the cats in our books–it’s a fictional “catfight.”

To celebrate being Berkley publishing sisters, she is very generously giving away 3 copies of MIMI LEE GETS A CLUE (book 1 in my Sassy Cat series):

Foodie Friday: Matcha Donut

Matcha donut: doughtnut with green tea glaze

I found a matcha donut at my local bakery! I’m excited whenever I find anything green tea-flavored. Along with the special glaze, this doughnut featured matcha sugar crumbles. Overall, it was a lovely treat, but there was only a subtle hint of tea flavor. It definitely needs to kick up the tea factor!

On Author Blurbs

Ever wonder about those quotes by authors you find on books? Having been asked to write some recently, I blogged about my thoughts on Writers Who Kill. See the post here:

Festive Reading

“A new challenge is near.” (fortune cookie saying)

Here’s how I celebrated during my much-needed break from writing over these last few weeks. I read. For fun!

Sometimes I like measuring my vacations by the number of books I’ve read. It gives me an indication of how much lovely time I spent between the pages of a book. Also, it fuels that inner competitive streak in me. (In elementary school, I once won a reading contest hands-down–and got handsomely rewarded with a gift card to a local bookstore.)

Am currently reading this book

Books I read while on break:

The Moonshine Shack Murder by Diane Kelly (ARC; June 2021)The Tiger Mom’s Tale by Lyn Liao Butler (ARC; July 2021)Arsenic and Adobo by Mia P. Manansala (ARC; May 2021)Scot Free by Catriona McPherson Landfalls by Naomi J. WilliamsThe Missing Sister by Elle MarrMurder from Scratch by Leslie Karst

Have you read any of the above titles? What have you been reading lately?

Book Review: Real Men Knit

Real Men Knit

5 stars

Genre: Contemporary romance

I love the premise of this book with the Strong brothers running a yarn shop. This slow-burn romance really works with the two main leads. More than that, I really appreciated how Jackson weaves in authenticity about Harlem, the myriad obstacles facing the characters, and the strength of community.

A winner of a romance, woven with sweet heat and much heart
