This is the unexpected year isn’t it. Back in January none of us would ever have expected that come September things would have turned out the way they have.
Two of my children have just walked to school with masks on their face, but at least they have finally got to go to school.
The world is a different place now. Life is different now. I’m different now.
After using the coronavirus lockdown as a chance to be still for a while and reevaluate my life I’m heading into Autumn with a renewed sense of purpose.
For the first time in a long time I’m desperate to write. Desperate to let my creativity take me on journeys into the unknown.
It’s an amazing feeling.
I wonder who else is starting to feel a sense of optimism that despite what we have all been through, the loss, the sadness, the enormous change, that finally we can be move on, even if it’s just an inch, even if it’s only in a bubble of six people... life still goes on with is in tow.
I can’t wait to work on The Other Side of Blue nor can I wait to rerelease The Uni Files later this year.
September is a time of new pens, refill pads and optimism.
I for one am going to go and sharpen my new pencils.
