The fire burns
the flame dies down
And like a circus to a clown
life seems so silly at certain times
Like a song without a rhyme.
And when the tears begin to fall
We look away remembering all
The good ole' times when we as children
Used to laugh and play
Looking forward to another day
Of fun-filled games, and ice cream cones,
Licorice ropes, and dog bones
That our favorite dog would bury deep
Into Mother Earth that was so sweet
Back when we were children.
