December 2015 Round-Up
Reading –
5 Books
Two of my
own, one steampunk short story, one contemporary romance short, and a SF title
my mother has been praising for almost two years (and my mom doesn’t like SF).
I’m going to blame this one on the holidays. It’s really difficult to read when
you’ve got ninety obligations popping out at you each week. I still didn’t
manage to get anything done, even with my reading

Review: The Martian by Andy Weir
The Martian
By Andy Weir
My Summary:
Mark Watney is stranded—alone—on Mars after a freak
sandstorm and a flying antenna leave his crewmates with the belief that he’s
dead. Figuring out how to survive until another crew arrives is his highest
priority.
My Review:
I have to admit, when I started this book, I didn’t expect
to get emotionally involved in the plot.

New Year, New Plans!
Writing:
Like with the last two years, I don’t plan on setting a
specific word count goal (I don’t plan on pushing myself to write 1 million words
in 12 months ever again). I’m just hoping to be better than last year. If I do
that, awesome! If health issues arise that make it so I can’t…. I guess I won’t
get there.
Publishing:
I have 8 books* planned for release this year. I might do

Out Today: The Forgotten Soldier, The Lady's Command, etc
The Forgotten
Soldier by Brad Taylor –
For years, the extralegal counterterrorist unit known as
the Taskforce has worked in the shadows, anticipating and preventing attacks
around the globe. Created to deal with a terrorist threat that shuns the
civilized rule of law, it abandoned the same, operating outside of the US
Constitution. Though wildly successful, it was rooted in a fear that the

Lying for a Living
We're nearing the end of the year. Humor me as I through out a random thought.
In many ways, I make a living from lying. Or at least a
semblance of a living.
When it comes right down to it, all authors are creative
liars who can bend those lies into worlds and characters that will (hopefully)
arrest the reader’s mind and make them believe the lie for the handful of hours
it takes them to read
