Prah, Constantine & Baryeh Reviews TANGLED SOULS by Jana Oliver #paranormal #mystery #romance

Here in New York we're saying goodbye to summer and hello to autumn. And it's Nana's favorite month! It's her Birthday Month.

Nana picked Tangled Souls by Jana Oliver.

Wiccan Gavenia Kingsgrave’s psychic gift, the ability to talk

to the dead, comes with strings attached. As a Shepherd, she

escorts them into the hereafter, but not all the souls want to

cross over, and some can be downright vicious. When her

latest case involves a heart-breaking hit-and-run victim,

Gavenia is stressed to the max. The last thing she needs is a

no-nonsense private detective on her tail, even if he is a

handsome Irishman.

Former homicide detective Douglas O’Fallon possesses his

own psychic gift, one he’s denied for years. Hired by a

wealthy client to prove that Gavenia’s a con artist, he is

skeptical of the witch’s claims she can speak to the dead. If he

finds her gift as genuine, then he will be forced to accept his

own. When their two cases intersect, opposites attract. But

will they be able to set their differences aside long enough to

outwit their foes – both the living and the dead?

Cathrina's Review:

Tangled Souls was such a pleasant surprise. It had everything I like to read: Mystery, Suspense, Paranormal, and Romance. I instantly liked the main characters, Gavenia and O'Fallon. Total opposites, yet fighting for the same cause. The author, Jana Oliver has a writer's gift. I thoroughly enjoyed her written style, which kept me busy swiping the pages. Ms. Oliver did a wonder job of intermingling the storyline between O'Fallon and Gavenia.

I love anything Irish, and actually, I turn Irish once a year on St. Patrick's Day. Doug O'Fallon is an Irishmen, through and through, and a devote Catholic, which makes him struggle with his gift. Whereas, Gavenia embraces hers, yet with some difficulty. The paranormal scenes were nicely played. Sad, scary, and spine-tingling.

I did jump ahead, like I always do because I can't sleep unless I find out what happens. I wondered how the author was going to get O'Fallon and Gavenia together... and since I don't leave spoilers, you'll have to read the book to find out.

Tangled Souls is highly recommended for readers who like the mysterious paranormal and murder cases that need solving.

Please visit Nana Prah and Empi's blog for their reviews.

I can't believe summer is winding down. As I sit here by the big picture window which looks out over my gardens, it seems like only yesterday when the flowers started to bloom.

My week has been frazzling, teeth grinding, and exasperating, scary, eager, and impatiently waiting for medical results. On the positive side I'm blessed beyond measure.

I've been extremely busy getting my revision's and editing completed for the re-release of Tallas on September 19th. Needless to say, my wip has been waiting in the wings for so long my characters have lost interest in me....

Do you have goals? What are you Celebrating?

We had a fabulous time at the beach!!!
It started out tricky, as Sam didn't like the feel of the sand shifting under his tiny feet. Lots of whining and he refused to budge. Then the water was definitely a no-no, more crying...

By the end of the week, he was practically running over the sand and loved the water!

It was fantastic to have our entire family under the same roof again. Laughing, joking, playing games,  and taking long walks. I'm not a sunbather, but I do like to bring my chair on the sand to read and people watch.

What are you celebrating?

The Donor by Nikki Rae

Casey Williams and her family are poor. Her parents work non-stop and so does she, just so they can keep the trailer roof from leaking.
They’re getting by fine enough when the headaches start. Then there’s the nosebleeds. And the inevitable doctor’s bills.
Fortunately for Casey, there’s MyTrueMatch.com: an exclusive, quick, and almost easy way to pay it all back before her parents even have to know.
All she has to do is give a man she’s never met whatever he wants from her body.
Inside or out.

Nikki Rae is an independent author who lives in New Jersey. She explores human nature through fiction, concentrating on making the imaginary as real as possible. Her genres of choice are mainly dark, scary, romantic tales, but she’ll try anything once. When she is not writing, reading, or thinking, you can find her spending time with animals, drawing in a quiet corner, or studying people. Closely.

PrologueOur car careened into the frozen lake. As the icy waters rushed to fill what little air was left in the sinking car, my mother’s body pinned me against the seat. I tried to force her limp weight away, but it proved useless. I didn’t have the strength to push her off. Hopeless, I watched the water level rise. Panic along with the frigid waters began to restrict any movement I made in my state of desperation.  As the flesh freezing water crept to my chin, my mother began to float, nearly too weak to move, I pulled her close, cradling her lifeless body, knowing I’d soon reunite with her. My secret was real, not an illusion as Dr. Seth had convinced my mother it was. Angry voices screamed out to me in a state of confusion and hysteria. Mors ifanti felix, juvenis acerba, nimis sera est seni! I didn’t want to believe their words. The desperation of wanting to live suddenly opened my eyes and had me fighting for my life. I had foolishly wasted away a year, fixated on my destiny, pondering on how my life should have ended; wanting it to end in the worst way. Now, it seemed death was nothing more than a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Dying was not an option, nor would I accept their reasons for taking my mother. I would fight––fight for the both of us.
