Author Deanie Humphrys-Dunne: An Inspiration
Deanie Humphrys-Dunne has authored four books to date. I reviewed them all and posted my thoughts on Amazon.
Though all four are terrific, my favorite is "Tails of Sweetbrier" now available in its second edition (print) and on KINDLE. "Tails of Sweetbrier" is a lovely book, which in addition to its 'good read' value it is inspirational.
The following is my review of "Tails of Sweetbrier" (Kindle Edition).
The parents of Deanie Humphrys-Dunne were told that their little girl, who was born with a physical handicap that was eventually diagnosed as cerebral palsy, will never walk. This is devastating news to any parent as it was to Deanie's, but her father refused to accept the decree and announced that his little girl will learn to ride horses.
The power of a young girl's passion, perseverance and determination and the effect of a family's support, love and commitment, are celebrated in this remarkable true story of an extraordinary individual. Deanie, pursued her dream with tenacity and persistence, and against many odds achieved success in the very demanding world of competitive horse shows. This wonderfully inspirational story begins with a challenge to young readers that would make it difficult for them to put the book down. Deanie asks "Have you ever really wanted to be able to do something, but you came across a roadblock of some kind?" and goes on to inquire "Are you going to follow your dream, or are you going to push it aside without even trying?"
Deanie Humphrys-Dunne's generosity in sharing her story so that others may be motivated to pursue their dreams, no matter the challenge, is admirable. Take advantage of the opportunity, acquire the book and be inspired! "Tails of Sweetbrier" is heartily recommended for readers of all ages.

Publishing / Writing Children's Books
Though my choice of book is quite eclectic, from the Rabbi Jonathan Sack's "The Great Partnership: Science, Religion, and the Search for Meaning" to Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice to Tan TWan Eng's The Garden of Evening Mists, I will devote this blog to reviewing children's books.
The problem of illiteracy in the U.S. and across the globe is enormous. Lack of literacy amongst children means results in a growing number of illiterate adults. Illiteracy, according to statistical data, inevitably leads to a life of poverty and lack of opportunity. All elements that may engender choosing anti-social and criminal ways of life.
Introducing children to the wonderful world of books is a gift every parent, grandparent, god parent, and caring friends should present the child(ren) in their lives! And do so by choosing well written, entertaining, and fun books that also teach life lessons.
This blog will promote MazorRooks publications that fit the description of "good children's book" (well written, entertaining, fun and promoting a good value) as well as the creations of authors not associated with MazorBooks whose creations, in my opinion, will enrich a child's life.
Happy reading!
