Irreverent Release (Salvation Society)
A Sins of Ashville/Salvation Society Crossover with appearances from Ben and Gretchen from Evermore and .

I came on vacation to reclaim my independence, not to end up with another man, but the universe had other plans when it put an ex-Navy SEAL in the condo next door.
The moment Riker walks up, I sense something familiar about him.
I try to keep my distance, knowing that anything that comes of it will be temporary.
But it seems the harder I try, the more everything goes wrong, and I find myself relying on him more and more.
At the end of the week, we’ll be separated by hundreds of miles. Will our brief encounter flourish into something that can bring us together again?
Or will it fade into memory?

Deleted and bonus scenes may contain spoilers.
The following was a deleted scene that took place after Brooke drugged Trent.
What in the hell could she possibly want now?
I sat. I waited. But she scowled across the room at something else. Someone else, I realized as I looked over my shoulder. Gavin. Why the fuck does it always have to be Gavin?
I faced the wall again, slumping in my seat. A waitress stopped by with a new drink for Brooke and then waited for my order. I still didn’t want to touch another beer, but I couldn’t exactly order a water, so I asked for a tall lager.
“You know, we have like twenty beers on tap,” Brooke said. “Be adventurous.”
“I’m good,” I snapped. “Now what do you want?”
Brooke cocked her head and took a long, slow drink of beer.
I waited, but she didn’t say a thing.
So, I sat back, and in the dim light, I noticed something different. Her face seemed off, somehow swollen with one eye narrowed. She sure hadn’t seen that last time I’d seen her.
“You wanted to sit,” Brooke finally said. “We’re sitting.”
“Why do I have to do it with you?”
“Don’t you know that most of the men in this room would fight for the chance?” Her expression didn’t change which led me to believe that even if she thought that was true, she wasn’t thrilled by it. More annoyed than anything.
I leaned over the table. “Did you drug them, too?”
She took a deep breath, blowing it out with a feigned smile. “Oh, ego. Maybe you should watch what you drink..”
“You really think I’m going to buy that.”
She drew pack, pulling her drink across the table with her and staring me down over the rim. “You really think this crowd is going to buy that you belong here?”
“Why wouldn’t they? Because I’m not all over you, I don’t have what it takes to be a Devil? Now who’s the cocky one?”
She huffed and her eyes drifted away, focusing in another direction. “No, it’s just what I’ve learned growing up here. Sex. Drugs. Guns. Power. Fighting for one or all of the above. That’s what drives the hive mind and the general consensus for fitting in around here. So, what do you want out of this if not one of the above?”
“Didn’t you figure that out when you drugged me?” What, if anything, does she have on me? I just needed a clue.
Half of her mouth curled up as she stared back at me, with her head tilted to the right. “Oh, wouldn’t you like to know.”
“Maybe you don’t have anything at all,” I challenged. “Because there isn’t anything to know, and that’s why you’re fucking with me.”
“I can look around this room and she what doesn’t belong. It won’t be long before everyone else sees it too.”
She hadn’t even attempted to deny my accusation, so I took that as a potential confirmation. “Really? Is that not the pot calling the kettle black?”
Brooke glared at me, then slammed her glass down, jumped up, and stormed through an employee door at the back.
I should have stayed home.
“What is it with you two?” Sawyer asked, taking the empty seat across from me. He must’ve been watching, and I certainly couldn’t catch a break.
“Oil and water,” I said, closing my eyes for a moment. How was it that one woman—half my size—unnerved me more than any criminal here?
He nodded slowly. “She tends to rub people that way.”
That’s not how she sees it. The waitress finally returned with my drink and a glass of Bourbon beer for Sawyer.
“Gavin’s been trying to tame her for years—he’s not the first, or only—but she’s stubborn.”
“I noticed.” But as his comments really settled in my mind, I thought about what it must be like for a woman who’d not only rose to officer in this world, but had to deal with all the men trying to tame her along the way. I stared down at my beer, knowing the longer I nursed it, the more suspicious I’d be among the rowdy, already inebriated crowd.
“She’s got some great assets though, can’t deny that.” He grinned at me over the rim of his glass, and the glint in his eyes assured me he wasn’t talking about her accounting or bar management abilities.
Did he just..?
He winked as the deep brown liquid sloshed to his lips.
Train for her birthday. Checking out her “assets.” Some father.
“Don’t know why I’d have to tell you though.” He smiled smugly. “She said you two had a good night last weekend. Wouldn’t it be ironic for a Prospect to be the one to put her in her place?”
I raised my glass and nodded, desperately wanting out of the conversation. When she’d first cornered me, I wanted nothing more than to put her in her place after what she’d done, but I was certain that my definition of that differed greatly from Sawyer’s.

Type of Location: Fictional city in Ohio
Ashville is a fictional city in Ohio created from an amalgamation of locations throughout Ohio including Cincinnati, Cleveland, Kent, Youngstown, and Portsmouth. Geographically, it sits on the Ohio river at a junction with a smaller tributary.

Ashville Point
Ashville Point is a section in the north of town formerly home to a thriving steel business. After the decline of this business, much of the city and surrounding areas experienced a rise in poverty which made it a prime location for shady businessmen, drugs, and crime. The corrupt landscape made it a prime location for The Retreat (Irrevocable & Unbreakable), the Gold Family (Redline), and the Devils of Ashville MC (She-Devil) to grow and thrive.
Ashville PDUnder the leadership of Chief Lewis, the various districts of the Ashville PD have made great strides in infiltrating and bringing many of these groups to justice, but the city has a long road of recovery ahead. There are six districts under Chief Lewis’s command. The downtown district is led by Captain Elizabeth Thorne who was thrust into a leadership position as an interim after a corruption scandal within the department. Detectives Trent Davis, James Carter, and officer Ryan Corell work in her district. Rose Baldwin sometimes steps in as a victim’s advocate, using her experience to help women escaping from traumatic situations. The Ashville Point district falls under the command of Captain Ainsley.
Why Ohio?Partly I have set my stories in Ohio because it is a region I know well. I chose to create a fictional town because it would allow me to easily combine elements of multiple areas and generally have fun and free creative license over the locations and events.I started writing Irrevocable on pure impulse, but as I started to wrap it up, I realized I needed a location to anchor it down. Well, no one is going to believe this much insanity can happen in Ohio, I thought. We have numerous issues with drugs and human trafficking in my small town, but an operation of the size that appears in the book? I didn’t realize how wide-spread this was until I started researching. Ohio is actually considered one of the “Dirty Dozen” in terms of human trafficking laws, and was the fourth in the nation in the number of cases in 2016. Yes, Ohio is that bad. It can happen here, and it does every day. While the events in my books are highly fictionalized, we shouldn’t lose sight that these crimes are out there. Comparatively, my characters have it easy, but I’m drawn to write about the resiliency to survive and find opportunities to overcome dark situations and the inner strength to heal afterward. Hair: dirty blonde, in She-Devil he wears it long and pulled back in a ponytail
Eyes: Dark Green
Age at first appearance: 32
Height: 6′
Residence: Trent lives in a bungalow style house within Ashville city limits. Although he’s done some improvements on the house since moving in, he’s quite clear that he bought the house simply for the three car garage in back that gives him plenty of room to tinker on cars and projects.
Education: MS in Criminal Justice
Employment: Detective, Ashville PD. Tren was James’s handler while James was undercover at the Retreat and when he takes his own undercover job, their roles are reversed.
Parents: Father, estranged since early childhood. He and his mother moved to Ashville before Trent started school. As a single mother and a nurse, he spent a lot of time with the Carter family next door who treated him as a member of their own family. Trent and James Carter became best friends, discovering many common interests growing up that led them to pursue degrees in criminal justice and careers in law enforcement. Trent also became close to James’s little sister, Stephanie, whom he admired for her tenacity and strength while battling cystic fibrosis.
Affiliations: Ashville PD
Characteristics: Although Trent cares deeply for his friends, he never got over the loss of his first love, Stephanie, when she succumbed to an infection due to cystic fibrosis as a teenager. Trent has had a string of casual relationships, notably with Libby Thorne who later became his boss. He throws himself into his work and refuses to back down from a case, especially when innocent and vulnerable lives are at risk. He can be crude and blunt at times, but he realizes that nothing in life is perfect and rather than dancing around an issue, he calls it as he sees it.
Identifying marks: Trent’s first tattoo, a purple rose over his heart with twisted stems and thorns that wrap around the word fight, was a tribute to Stephanie. Since then, he has regularly added new pieces that adorn his skin from neck to ankles.
Bonus Scene
Bonus content may contain spoilers.
This scene is from an early draft. I thought it was fun to give Gavin some of the karma he deserved, but it didn’t fit with the final version…
At least with Trent here, I didn’t have to worry about Gavin getting a hold of him. I had no doubt he’d find some way to pass off whatever punishment he got to someone else.
As Trent and I sat on the couch, a crashing sound outside the door jarred me to my feet.
“Hey, Mama,” Gavin yelled, slamming something against the door again.
Always. Always.
But I was frozen in my spot. Frozen between Trent and Gavin. Trent who already saw too much. Too many of the things I didn’t want anyone to see. And Gavin.
I had nowhere to hide. I couldn’t cover myself in bravado while a guy wielding who knows what pounding down my door.
“Want me to take care of it?” Trent asked.
Was he trying to let me take the lead? Or just wholly doubting my ability to handle it on my own.
If Gavin didn’t already have it out for him, he would now, whether or not Trent stepped in.
And who was I kidding… there was no not stopping in. Trent wasn’t going to hide in the bathroom while Gavin…
Gavin fought dirty.
Gavin kept me off balance. Mainly because I knew there was no way out.
I took a breath, barely starting to exhale before the front wall of my apartment shook.
“Fine,” I grabbed the gun, I had hidden under the coffee table.
Trent’s eyes went wide. I grabbed his shoulders so he could hear me over the ruckus shaking my door. “Stand to the side and unlock the door. Don’t open it. And don’t kill him.”
There would be no getting out of the ramifications for that. Especially for a Prospect. While Trent’s back was to me, I shimmied out of my jeans, and pulled his coat on.”
Trent scowled when he reached the door and turned to me again.
I nodded toward the door. I wanted Gavin off guard, and me without pants would surely do the trick.
Trent unlocked each lock, then readied the gun. The door clicked open and opened with a whoosh that pushed my hair back. The door slammed into the wall, and the unsuspecting Gavin stood there looking like a damn deer in the headlights.
“You’ve come to your senses,” he said with a wry grin.
“Oh, yeah,” I scoffed.
He hadn’t even noticed Trent so close and holding a gun to his head.
My eyes dropped to Gavin’s hand and the crowbar he held.
This time he hadn’t dropped it when he heard the lock.
My heart starts to speed even faster.
Still not dropping it. Still not dropping it.
Trent cleared his throat.
“You….” Gavin took a step away, holding the crowbar up like it stood any chance of saving him against a gun. “Oh, you’re finished for this.”
“No, he isn’t,” I said. “I’m pretty sure at least Cannon and Fitch will side with me if I explain what happened and why he’s holding that gun.”
“Why? You fuckin’ them too?”
Trent growled, scowling as he held his ground.
“Yeah, we all know what you two have been up to.” Gavin smirked at Trent. “You didn’t think you were the first?”
“I’m not as dumb as you.”
I shot daggers at Trent. Okay, as if this whole situation wouldn’t piss off the man. Sawyer’s golden child. But he didn’t take his eyes off Gavin.
“Oh, Prospect, let’s talk dumb.” The crowbar bounced slightly in his grip.
Fuck.
“Get the hell out of here Gavin. Gun versus crowbar means odds aren’t in your favor, and I’m serious.”
“Fuckin’ Prospect isn’t going to shoot me, we all know it.”
I crossed my arms and let the air rush out of my chest. Trent’s eyes bounced to me for an instant while Gavin looked in my direction.
I shrugged and nodded. In an instant, the explosion of the blast deafened me for a second. Then, Gavin yelled, and the crowbar clanged to the floor.
“You fucker… Your life… it’s over….” Gavin held his hand over his bleeding bicep.
And while he was slightly incapacitated and hopefully in a lot of pain, I rushed him. Shoving him into the wall. “You had your fun. Now, stop fucking with me unless you want everyone to know what cookie jars those hands have been in.”
Gavin bucked. “As if you have anything—”
I grabbed his collar and yanked him forward, then whispered into his ear. “Alexia and (Sawyer’s girlfriend’s kid).”
His snarl turned into something else. Something animalistic.
“And,” I said, stepping back. “Don’t worry, I have a few contingencies now if you get any ideas.”
“So,” I adjusted his collar and patted his chest. “You better come up with a good excuse for that. And if you ever come busting down my door again, I’ll have him shoot your dick off.”

She-Devil is Live
It’s finally time to get your hands on She-Devil, the long awaited addition to the Sins of Ashville series and Trent’s story.
Whatever you do, never, ever blow your cover in front of a devil….
I traded my dress shoes for leather boots, my badge for a hog, and my friends for the club. It’s supposed to be temporary, but if I don’t live, breathe, and bleed Devil’s Pointe MC for even a second, it’ll all be over.
But one little distraction may prove more powerful than the entire club.
One day, they’ll call me Lilith and bow at my feet….
Like a weed, I thrive where I’m not supposed to. I stand tall despite my infertile upbringing and the surrounding hostiles who threaten me every day. No, “despite” isn’t entirely correct, I do it all to spite them.
Mark my words, I’ll prove who’s tougher and who’s the Devil in this narrative.
I’m a She-Devil and I intend to show them all what it really means to be a Devil.

Location Profile: The Pit

Book: She-Devil
Location: Ashville Point(fictionalized town)
Owner: Devils of Ashville MC
Manager: Brooke Covey
THE PIT: WELCOME TO HELL
The Pit is the official hangout for the Devils of Ashville Motorcycle Club. When Brooke’s brother, Dixon was Sergent-at-Arms for the club, he also managed the bar and after his death, the responsibility fell to Brooke. All employees of The Pit are females, usually the younger Ol’ Ladies because their close affiliation with the club deters customers from causing problems.
Deleted scene from Trent’s POV regarding the history of the building:
By the sixties, the opera house was already in trouble. It had been closed, re-purposed, and reopened several times. Each new iteration had a shorter life than the previous until no price tag could attract a buyer. No one interested in show business anyway. In the eighties, the Devils saved the structure from demolition for pennies on the asking price and re-purposed it into their new hangout. Little of the internal structure remained. The main room became a spacious bar with plenty of room to cordon off for club activities. Sawyer had claimed what used to be the balcony, creating a space where he could look down upon the bar. I imagined he enjoyed many evenings as a voyeur from his lofty perch. The top floor, as I understood, was used for storage and living space for the bar manager—also known as DOA Treasurer, Brooke Covey.
Trent’s description of the bar area:
The original brick of the opera house remained throughout much of the structure, but the interior of The Pit had been remodeled with wood, which dulled some of the ambient noise once I entered. A long oak bar stretched the length of the room, with shelves of liquor from the back counters up to the base of the half-wall of Sawyer’s overhead office. On the opposite side of the room, there was a section divided off by tall unfinished beams connected by thick planks at chest height, which were crowded with beer bottles and glasses while the men chatted around the pool tables.

I would make this Prospect’s life a living hell.
I wrestled my attention back to Sawyer. He’d been quiet far too long, leaving me to wonder what he was thinking. That was a doorway into lunacy I wanted to avoid.
Was he suspicious?
We were all suspicious of newcomers, but Sawyer… Some days I’d call him paranoid. Reckless the next. Careless the following. And sometimes it changed hour-by-hour or minute-by-minute. That was one of the ways he maintained his power and authority—always being unpredictable and turbulent.
What was he plotting?
Caine shifted his gaze, first to me, then to his friend.
Sawyer finally relented. “Who have you ridden with?”
Trent’s stare didn’t waver. “My uncle taught me to ride before….” He glanced down. “He was with the Brothers of the Wheel until they dissolved.”
“Dissolved?” Sawyer laughed. “What a political way of putting it.” He lowered his tone. “They were slaughtered, worse yet, it was someone on the inside.”
Trent grimaced. “I’ve been laying low. Hard to move on when there’s no one to trust and no family to fall back on. My uncle always wanted me to join BOW, and working in the shop with Caine and Cannon has given me a piece of that brotherhood he always spoke of. Ignited my hunger for more.”
He was good. So good, I almost puked. Somewhat believable, but no one around here said what they meant. Laying out all your cards was always a bad idea. If you didn’t keep secrets close to the vest, first you lost your edge, then your life.
Always have a backup weapon. Never lie to a brother, but guard your secrets, and equally important, guard everyone else’s. I excelled at the secrets game, after all, that’s the only way I managed to get a patch in this male-dominated circus.
“Well, Trent, are you up for a run?” Sawyer asked. His voice had lost that grating, barking tone.
My eyebrows shot upward. Mother fucking incredulous jackass. From the look on his face, I guessed he made the offer just to screw with me. But I couldn’t believe the rat bastard would choose a Prospect over me on such an important run.
Then again, I could believe it. Not like it was anything new.
I had to bite my tongue. Pick your battles, I reminded myself. Choose the situation and audience with care or the punishment will be far worse. I had to carefully balance what I intended to gain with what I would certainly lose, and this battle wasn’t worth it.
One day.
One day…
“Yes, sir.” Trent smirked. “Anything you need.”
Too eager. Much as I enjoyed admiring his ink, I swore that one day I’d rip out his tongue and wipe that look off his face with it. I would make this Prospect’s life a living hell.
